Gabriella's warm body is cuddled against mine, and I've never felt more complete than I did now.
I slowly remove the hair stuck to her face and stare at her long eyelashes. Her eyes are closed, and I want to lean down and kiss them.
I lean back and close my eyes; I was already falling for the woman in my arms, I fought it as hard as I could, but my body and heart were more substantial than my will.
I still knew that I couldn't allow this, however. For me to protect Gabriella, I would have to let her go eventually. I had to allow her to leave before my father found out that we were mates. I knew that he already had an idea, but he wasn't sure about it as yet. I think the fact that I hadn't given in to my desires to claim her was exactly what is throwing my father off.
