My mind is spinning with all of the new information being brought forward. I didn't want to believe it; I trusted Emily as much as I trusted my family. Did she pull such a nasty trick on me? Why would she lie about her pregnancy like that? Why didn't she come to me and tell me the truth? Why did she let me look like a fool in front of everyone?
Alvaro didn't look like someone lying; he valued the relationship between our parents too much to lie about something like this. Emily also looked completely pale, and she didn't deny any of this. She looked shocked that he'd even confessed this to all of us. Was she that used to him keeping secrets for her that she thought that he would just let her pregnancy slide?
