The beginning.
The pitter patter of the rain was like music to the ear, and it accompanied the cries of the people surrounding the grave. They were all dressed in black a significance of their heavy mourning each holding an umbrella and a flower which they dropped accordingly on the grave with grief stricken faces. A couple were huddled together as they cried, the fifty something year old man with grey hair holding on to his forty something year old wife who was bawling her eyes out. The scene was a perfect picture of a family grieving over the death of their beloved, but there was more to the picture than the eyes could imagine. In a corner that was hidden in the burial ground, an almost invisible shadow could be seen, the shadow was hooded with no glimpse to be caught. From the built of the shadow, it could easily be discerned to be a man. The shadow watched the scene in with of him. Lightening flashed and a little bit of light passed through the hooded man's face as quickly as it came. His handsome face was grim with no expression. He watched with his sharp generic eyes as people started to disperse. When no one was in sight, he came out from his hiding and moved towards the newly dug grave that was heaped with different flowers. In front of the grave, stood a full framed picture of a young lady about twenty six years. She wasn't attractive, but their was a glint in her eye that made her look appealing. The smile on her face was heart warming one that could cause a ripple in the heart. Her short black hair was pulled in a messy pony tail. She looked as carefree as ever with a gait that was pleasing. She was dressed in a pink plain turtle neck shirt tucked in neatly into a white flay pants. The dressing and the colour even though were contrasting looked alive with her in it. He gazed at the picture, the one he remembered too well. It was the one she had wanted to use for her work I.d, they had both argued about it a lot. He had told her that it wasn't professional enough and she had argued back that it made her younger. At the end he let her win. But it was useless now, she was able to fulfill that single wish. He knelt down near the grave not minding the rain that was pouring down furiously on him as if blaming him for her death. His face void of tears and emotion. It wasn't that he couldn't cry, it was just that he had no more tears to shed. He dipped his hand into his hoodie pocket and brought out a wrapped pink lollipop. She had once told him jokingly on a weekend they were playing video games that if she was to die, that instead of flowers that she preferred a pink lollipop so she would be able to lick it on her way to heaven or hell. She was so in love with lollipop that anytime they go out or for shopping she would buy a pack and it finished before he could blink. Right now, he really wished that she was on her way to heaven there, she would be free from everything the disappointments and betrayals. He dropped the lollipop alongside with the flowers. Tracing his beautiful slender fingers on her name that were carved boldly in italics on the stone in front of the grave, he whispered her name, the name that felt so familiar at the same time bitter and sweet at the tip of his tongue. He knew he had failed her, but now wasn't the right time to apologize so he made a promise to visit again after things must have settled down. He kissed the tip of his middle finger then placed it on her picture as a sign of farewell. With out wasting much time, he stood up and walked to the low fence where he had been hiding earlier scaling the wall, he left the way he came. Seated in the dimly lit room were two young men. One was covered in black hoodie and pants living nothing visible to the eyes. He was holding unto a blue mug filled with coffee tightly as if his life depended on it. The other man was dressed in a red knitted cardigan and brown pants. A reading classes sat on the bridge of his nose. He was holding a news paper which he read from. Silence hung in the room as the hoodie guy took occasional sip from his mug. After what seem like eternity, the man on glasses spoke. '' You can't hide here forever, they will surely get you. What do you plan on doing '', the concern in his words were obvious. The hoodie man took a sip of his coffee probably thinking of his next line of action. When the man on glasses noticed that no reply would come from his friend he sighed. He was really worried. It wasn't about the implications of what he was doing that bothered him, he knew that should he be in the same condition as his friend, that the later would go miles just to help him prove his innocence. It was about what would happen to his friend when he was eventually caught that bothered him. Right now, they were all waiting for his wife to return from the bank to know the next line of action to take. '' Is Cressida not done yet? '', the hooded man spoke for the first time. '' I think she should be, she will be here soon. Maybe then we will make a decision ''. The man on hoodie nodded without replying. The doorbell of the house rang, interrupting the silence that had hung in the air once again. '' I think she's here, I will go get the door '' Damon the man on glasses said as he stood up making his way from the kitchen to the living room.
