Wyatt POV
"Alpha Maverick, my brothers and I would like to thank you for your hospitality over the last three days," I tell Alpha Maverick over our final dinner before we head back to our pack in the morning.
"It has been my pleasure. I hope this is a start of an alliance that could benefit both of our packs," Alpha Maverick says.
"As do we. We will need to discuss this with our father; however, we will recommend that we ally with your pack. My brothers and I all agree that your pack does have a lot to offer, as do we," I tell Alpha Maverick. Hoping he is buying my lie.
"I look forward to hearing from you in the coming weeks, and perhaps you could revisit us," Alpha Maverick tells us.
"As do we," I tell Alpha Maverick.
The rest of dinner goes smoothly, though I have difficulty focusing on the conversation since tonight is the night we rescue Remi. I thought of linking our Beta Jesse with the plan's details; he is getting everything ready and will lead the rescue team tonight. If all goes well, Remi should be on her way to our pack by the time we leave tomorrow morning.
My brothers and I bid Alpha Maverick a good night and retired to our rooms for the rest of the evening. I won't get much sleep tonight. I will have to turn the cameras off when the time comes. I have my tablet, keep it out of sight of the cameras, and pretend to be reading or working on pack business.
Now all I have to do is wait for Jesse to mind-link me that they are in position.
Jesse POV
We go into Red Crimson Moon Pack tonight to rescue Remi, Alpha Mavericks' daughter. The plan is pretty solid; however, there is plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong. However, we are ready. This mission is much easier than other missions we have done. I have faith that we will pull this mission off without a hitch.
Since we knew before going to Red Crimson Moon Pack that we would be kidnapping Remi, I selected the top ten warriors that we have that are the best at covert operations, like this one. They have been trained to get in and out of places like the Red Crimson Moon Pack undetected.
The warriors all understand the importance of getting Remi out of the Red Crimson Moon Pack. Alpha Wyatt told me she is possibly his and his brothers' mate; however, the Alphas won't know until they meet Remi. Alpha Wyatt did ask me to keep the fact that she may be our Luna to myself since we don't know for sure. I have no problem with that; the warriors don't need to know to complete this mission. The fact that Remi has been abused all her life by her family is enough for them to want this mission to succeed.
The last three of my warriors and I load into the SUV and start heading towards Red Crimson Moon Pack. The first SUV left about an hour ago, and the second left 30 minutes ago. We didn't want to draw suspicion by having three SUVs driving by simultaneously.
Also, we stayed two towns over to avoid raising suspicion and paid cash, so there is no paper trail that leads back to us.
I have had two men keep an eye on the pack for the last two days, monitoring any movements, patrols, etc. I don't want to be caught unprepared or surprised. Tonight needs to go smoothly; for that to happen, there can't be any surprises.
The two men keeping an eye on the pack will be waiting for us by the entrance to the utility road since there is nothing to mark where the utility road is. Then they will guide us back to where we need to park. Hopefully, everything on Murphy's end has gone according to plan.
We make good time and reach the utility road in about an hour and a half. We drive down the utility road until we get to the other two SUVs parked on the side of the road out of site.
"Did you encounter any problems?" I ask the warriors that were here before us.
"No, Beta. Also, in the time that we have been here, no one has noticed us here, and no one other than us has been down this road," Maddox says
"Good. So far, so good. Everyone make sure that you respray yourselves with the scent blocker; we don't want them to be able to follow our scent or smell us coming. For those that are going in wolf form, shift now. For those in human form, put your masks on, and let's make our way to the broader," I tell the warriors.
We silently make our way to the border, using the forest as cover. Since the forest is so thick, it hides our movements, even though we are following the road to the border.
Once we get to the border, we stop and wait for Murphy to show. I was told that Murphy's wolf is a chocolate brown wolf with white paws and a white tip tail. So far, I don't see Murphy. I also don't see or smell any wolves patrolling this border section.
I look at the time and see that it is almost midnight. Murphy should be here soon, as we agreed to meet him at the border around midnight. Hopefully, he hasn't run into trouble and been delayed.
I hear someone coming. My warriors and I are on high alert. Then I spot Murphy's wolf cautiously coming towards us. I step out of my hiding place and take off my mask.
"Murphy, I presume," I say to the wolf.
Murphy shifts to his human form and says, "Yes, you must be Jesse."
"Yes. Where is your family?" I ask Murphy.
"It's safe," Murphy says, looking behind him. That is when a nervous-looking pregnant she-wolf and a scared boy no more than three years old come out. The she-wolf hands Murphy some shorts and a backpack.
"This is my wife Stella and my son Ben," Murphy introduces as he pulls on his shorts.
"It is nice to meet you, Stella and Ben. I'm Jesse, the Blue Crystal Moon's Beta. This is Maddox, one of the pack warriors that will escort you to the SUV and take you to our pack," I say, pointing to Maddox
"Thank you so much for doing this for us," Stella says, relieved.
"You're very welcome. Your husband is doing us a huge favor by helping us get Remi out," I tell Stella
"Your need this to deactivate the sensors when you get to Remi's window. Press the large button to deactivate the sensors and then the smaller button to activate the sensor again. Remi window shouldn't be locked because of the sensor on the outside, but if for some reason it is, the lock should be easy to break," Murphy says, handing me a small round black control.
"Are there any other wolves we need to be aware of patrolling this area or in general?" I ask Murphy
"No. I'm the only one patrolling this section of the border tonight. They won't notice that I'm gone until 3 am when I am due to return from my patrol and the next patrol starts. All other patrols remain unchanged," Murphy says
"Good to know. Thank you for all your help. Now it is time for us to get Remi. You and your family go with Maddox, who will take you to the SUV and take you to our pack," I tell Murphy, who has done all he can for us.
"Please get Remi. She deserves a normal life without the constant abuse from her family," Murphy says and turns to leave with his family and Maddox.
"Alpha Wyatt, we are about to cross the border into Red Crimson Moon," I mind link
"Good, mind link me again before you get to the first set up cameras," Alpha Wyatt mind links.
One of the reasons we chose this entry point was because we have the forest coverage for most of the way to the pack house, and there aren't any camera's until we reach the clearing where the village starts, which is small and close to the pack house. Plus, we will be able to go around most of the village before we get to the cameras and open spaces.
It is slow going with the dense forest and starting further back from the pack house, but we are making good time. After about 40 minutes, we come to the clearing at the edge of the forest. We are on the North side of the village. It looks like we are on the back side of the town, which mostly looks deserted.
I'm about to mind linking Alpha Wyatt to turn off the cameras when two werewolves come out of the building to the right of us. I signal my warriors to take cover. Before proceeding, we will have to wait for the two werewolves to leave the area.
It seemed like the two werewolves would never leave. Finally, after about 20 minutes, they returned to the building they came out of. I checked the area to ensure no one else is out and about before I minded linking Alpha Wyatt.
"Alpha Wyatt, we are near the clearing by the pack house," I mind link
"You are good to go. The cameras along your route have been turned off. Mind link me when I need to turn the camera's back on," Alpha Wyatt mind links
My warriors and I start moving toward the pack house, ensuring we stick to the shadows. It is helpful that there isn't much light in
the part of the village and packhouse. In no time, we make it to the pack house.
I pull out the device Murphy gave me and push the large button to deactivate the sensors around Remi's window; at least, I hope the sensors have been deactivated. There is no indication that they have been deactivated.
"Ryan, give me a boost up to the window," I say to Ryan, the only warrior in a human form other than myself.
Ryan gives me a boost up to the window, and no alarms go off. I open Remi's window and slip into Remi's bedroom. Thankfully she is sound asleep, so there is less chance for her to raise the alarm.
I walk over to the bed, get the chloroform out, and pour some on a cloth. I put the chloroform back in my pocket and lean down over Remi. I put the fabric over Remi's mouth and nose. Remi wakes and briefly struggles before the chloroform takes effect.
I pull out the syringe with the sedative and inject Remi. This should keep her unconscious until we get back to the pack.
I pick Remi up and go to the window. I peer out and see Ryan waiting. I slowly take Remi out of the window and ensure Ryan is in position before I drop Remi. Ryan catches Remi quickly and starts to move back toward the forest.
I climb out of Remi's window, closing it before I drop to the ground. Once on the ground, I push the small button to activate the sensors around Remi's window, hoping again that they are active. Then I move towards the forest to meet the others.
"Alpha Wyatt, we have Remi. We are making our way back to vehicles. Clear to turn the cameras on," I mind linking Alpha Wyatt.
"Good work. See you tomorrow back at the pack," Alpha Wyatt's mind links back
The trek through the forest on the way back doesn't seem to take us as long. We make it back to the vehicles without problems and then drive off into the night with Remi.
Let's hope that Alpha Maverick doesn't think the Alphas had anything to do with Remi's disappearance.
