Nathan POV
"I'm going to see what I can dig up on the Red Crimson Moon Pack and Alpha Maverick. I want to know what we are walking into," I tell Wyatt and Micah as we leave our father's office and head to our room.
"I'm not sure what father or Raine expect us to do. Even if we find that the girl is still alive and manage to get information that proves the rumors are true, we give it to the King and council. All that will do is launch an investigation that could take months to complete or possibly years. You know how meticulous the council is when investigating a pack for illegal activities. There is no telling what will happen to the girl then," Micah says.
"I don't know. Something else is going on here that we aren't being told about. It seems odd that after 20 years, Raine was able to obtain this information, and then father decides it's time to act," Wyatt says.
"I don't trust Raine's contact in the pack. We could be walking into a trap for all we know," I say.
"I don't see what good will come of this. Alpha Maverick has run his pack for years like this, so he will know how to get around any investigation," Micah says
"True, but at the same time, we can't turn a blind eye to what may be going on inside the Red Crimson Moon Pack. If we do that, we are no better than those committing the crimes," Wyatt says.
"Just seems pointless, is all I'm saying," Micah says.
Typically, Micah. Everything always comes easy to Micah, from school to girls to training. Because of this, Micah does not put a lot of effort or energy into anything, except if it has to do with the training of our pack warriors. Micah's passion is the training of pack warriors, and he is very good at it. This is why he puts so much work and energy into training our pack warriors and nothing else. We have the strongest pack warriors in the world in part to Micah, with the only exception being the King's guard. Micah loathes hard work, not to say that he doesn't work hard. However, it is like pulling teeth to get Micah to work hard.
"I will call Spook and see what he can dig up on Alpha Maverick and his pack. Hopefully, he can find some information that may help us," I tell my brothers.
"Good. Let's hope that we can find out what is going on and try to put an end to it," Wyatt tells us.
A few days later, Spook gets back to me with what he was able to find out. Unfortunately, most of the information is based on rumors. Spook wasn't able to find much factual information. Currently, my brothers and I are on our way to meet with our father to give him an update.
I knock on my father's office door and hear him say, "Come in."
My brothers and I make our way into the office and take our seats. I pull up the information that Spook provided me on my tablet.
"What was Spook able to find out?" Father asks me.
"Not much that was factual. The Red Crimson Moon pack is a tightly run pack that keeps to itself most. The pack as a whole is secretive and doesn't like outsiders. Visitors must seek Alpha Maverick's permission to visit or step foot on pack land. If permission is not granted, the visitor could be detained and punished by the pack for trespassing. Rumor has it that wolves have gone missing that have stepped foot on Red Crimson Moon pack lands without permission," I tell everyone
"That's a bit extreme," Wyatt says.
"Yes, but not necessarily illegal," our father states.
"From a financial standpoint, the pack is doing very well; however, with the business's the pack owns and their current investments, they shouldn't be doing as well as they are. There seems to be a lot of money pouring into the pack that can't be traced to one of their businesses or investments," I say.
"Sounds like their black-market activities are very profitable," Wyatt says
"Could be, however, there is no proof that that's where the money is coming from and could be easily explained away," our father says.
"On record, Alpha Maverick family has been running the pack for the last 100 years when Alpha Maverick's great-great-grandfather brutally murdered the previous Alpha of the pack and took over. Rumor has it that Alpha Mavericks' great-great-grandfather took the previous Alpha's Luna as his mate after the previous Alpha's death. Records don't say whether it was forcibly or willing," I tell everyone
"It was probably forcibly, especially considering it was right after the Luna lost her mate. She would have been too crushed by her mate's death to even think about taking another mate," our father tells us.
"On record, Alpha Maverick has a son who is 22 and a daughter age unknown; however, there is no record of Alpha Maverick having a Luna, nor does it mention who the mother of his children is," I tell everyone.
"Not surprising that there is no Luna listed. Alpha Maverick and his family feel she-wolves are beneath them," the father tells us.
"The rest of the information that I am about to give is a rumor at best. Alpha Maverick doesn't like his pack members to have mates; he feels that a mate weakens a man. So, it is said that the men of his pack are encouraged to take any she-wolf they want as their mates whether or not they are willing," I tell everyone.
The idea that the men of his pack don't want to be with mates is crazy, and that a mate makes a man weaker is even crazier. We are each given a mate made for us, making them perfect. If anything, having a mate makes us stronger, not weaker.
"From its sound, many of the she-wolves between the ages of 13 to 25 in Alpha Maverick's pack are prostituted out to the high-ranking members of the pack and some of the visiting Alpha's. The Red Crimson Moon pack has a reputation for having the best prostitutes globally, especially if you like underage she-wolves. I have one account that says some she-wolves are used as punching bags for a price. From its sound, you can do anything and everything with the she-wolves at Red Crimson Moon pack for a price," I say, disgusted.
"There have been laws for centuries that prohibit these kinds of actions and protect underage she-wolves. How has Alpha Maverick and his family been able to get away with this for so long?" Micah asks stump as to how this is happening.
"By keeping their pack under tight control, blackmail, cruelty, etc. Alpha Maverick is a very dangerous man. That is why most packs stay clear of him. When reviewing the alliance that Alpha Maverick currently has, I notice the alliance is with like-minded packs.
Which helps Alpha Maverick and his pack stay under the radar," our father says.
"There is one thing that we need to assume is accurate. My reports say that Alpha Maverick has his whole pack wired with cameras and microphones. This is probably how he keeps such a tight grip on his pack. No one will do anything if they know that their Alpha is watching every move they make in public and private 24/7," I tell everyone.
"This Alpha Maverick is one sick f*ck," Micah says.
"That he is. I will ask you to do something that may start a war, but I'm not sure we have a choice," the father tells us.
"Let me guess if we find any truth to these rumors, and if the girl is alive, you want us to kidnap her," Wyatt says
"Yes, though I'm pretty sure that she is still alive. I'm afraid that she has been physically and sexually abused. If she is 18 and has shifted, there is no doubt that her father will let other Alphas try to impregnate her for a price in hopes that they can produce another Elemental White Wolf. Not to mention that Alpha Maverick will mate with her to get another Elemental White Wolf," our father says, enraged.
"Wouldn't she want to come with us? I can't imagine that she would want to stay," Micah asks
"Unfortunately, Alpha Maverick will have conditioned her to be obedient and a servant. She will believe that she has no rights, no voice, no life outside of serving her father and that if she fails her father, she will be punished harshly. No, she will want to stay, simply because she doesn't know any better," our father tells us.
"In that case, we will have to take her under cover of darkness and give her a heavy sedative to keep her unconscious while taking her out of the pack. Otherwise, she will alert her father and the whole pack to what is happening," Wyatt tells us.
"Will her wolf have to same blind loyalty and obedience to her father," Nathan asks
"I'm not sure. When she shifts for the first time, the memories of what has happened over the last 18 years will be shared with her wolf, but that doesn't mean her wolf will feel the same way. Why do you ask?" our father asks
"Getting Remi out of Alpha Maverick's pack isn't the problem. Keeping her from running back to her father is the problem. For the last 18 years, she has thought her mother was dead, and I can't imagine the shock or anger she will feel once she knows that her mother is alive. Nor do I think her mother will be able to convince her to stay and not go back to her father. Perhaps her wolf will be able to help. We can't keep her drugged or locked up; that would only reinforce her father's f*cked up views of she-wolves," Wyatt says
"That's a good point. I will talk with Raine and her family to see what we can come up with once she is back here. In the meantime, you boys need to prepare for your journey. The meeting is in 5 days," our father tells us.
"I will ask Dr. Newman for some chloroform and a sedative," I tell my brothers as we walk out of his office.
I hope we can get Remi out of the Red Crimson Moon pack. No one deserves to live like that and be treated as an object.
