Chapter 0 : preface
In the 9th year of the Lijia Mars Gregorian calendar, time has flowed on, and it has been exactly seven years since the tribal alliance joined forces to resist the invasion of the Demon's Wings at the decisive battle on Mount Hyjal. The former unity and cooperation have vanished like fleeting clouds, leaving no trace. The deep-seated conflicts between the Horde and the Alliance, rooted in the long river of history, along with the centuries-old hatred between races, finally erupted. The deafening sound of war drums echoed once again between the Horde and the Alliance, and the war spread across Lijia Mars like a plague. The flames of war once more stained this land, which had endured so much, red again. The land, just saved from the clutches of the Demon's Wings, was once more battered and bruised. The Horde and the Alliance had no choice but to halt their exploration of the broken world of Theramore, close the Dark Portal, and recall their elite forces from Theramore. They took up arms once more to defend their homeland and threw themselves into this brutal war. And these Li Mars residents, who knew nothing of the truth, were only concerned with their own interests, their own territory, and the deep-seated enmity between their tribe and the alliance. No one noticed that the evil presence known as Demon's Wing was already stirring in secret, plotting how to take advantage of the world's most vulnerable moment to launch another invasion. Tracing back to the 8th year of the Lizardman calendar, the war had been ongoing for a year, with both the Alliance and the Horde suffering heavy blows, their strength greatly diminished. The Demon's Wings seized this opportunity, using the massive vortex left in space after the Eternal Well explosion to successfully reopen the star gate leading to this world, launching a large-scale invasion of Lizardman. With no defense at all, the army of the Demon's Wings advanced like a flood, forcing the Horde and the Alliance to retreat step by step. Key cities such as Thunder Bluff, Ironforge, Undercity, Darnassus, Silvermoon City, and Eso-Darath fell one after another. The Horde was forced to retreat to their last line of defense, Orgrimmar, while the Alliance retreated to their final stronghold, Stormwind. At such a critical juncture, there is no time or energy left to dwell on the deep-seated enmity between the Horde and the Alliance. After a year of warfare, the strength of both camps has been greatly diminished, yet they did not expect the Scourge to take advantage of their weakened state. Once these two cities fall, Lich King will be completely under the control of the Scourge. As an incredibly powerful force in the universe, the Scourge's mission is to create chaos and destroy all worlds; its very existence is a threat to all life. alliance Stormwind Mage Society The leaders of all the races of the alliance sat in the conference room, the atmosphere was extremely dull, everyone's face expression is different, there is regret, there is fear, there is despair. Varian Wrynn, the current king of Stormwind and the supreme leader of the Alliance, broke the silence in the meeting room first: "It's all my fault. We should have remembered those painful memories from eight years ago. The Demon King never gave up his aggression against this world. I should not have initiated the war between Alliance and Horde, leading to so many unnecessary sacrifices, giving the Demon King the best chance to invade our homeland again." "We betrayed the Light of the Ancients from the very beginning. The Light has forgotten us, and we have been abandoned by the divine. Perhaps what awaits us is nothing but doom!" spoke the leader of the Draenei, the Prophet Velen. The Draenei are loyal followers of the Light of the Ancients. It has been proven that the Light's power of benevolence has guided them countless times to overcome difficulties and emerge from adversity. Yet now, they have betrayed the teachings of the Light of the Ancients—benevolence—and become embroiled in the pointless conflicts between the Alliance and the Horde. Therefore, they feel that the Light has forsaken them. "If we fall, Mother Earth will once again be plunged into endless suffering. The Forest God Selenus has already fallen under the hands of the Demon Wings. One can imagine the power of the Demon Wings; who here could claim to be stronger than Selenus? As for the dragons, those so-called noble dragons, they will only protect what they guard. We cannot expect them to help us until the Demon Wings have made their move. They do not care about human survival at all. Once the harmony of nature is disrupted, the pulse of the earth will be broken, and this land will not be able to bear it." The elven leader Tyrande said. Her melancholic gaze held no trace of hope. ... There was a lot of talk, but no one could come up with a useful solution. Despair, deep despair. It seemed that death was the only thing waiting for them. A dry cough interrupted the discussion. Everyone turned to look at the source of the sound, hoping someone could come up with a solution. The one who made the sound was —— Rodin, the president of the Stormwind Mage Association, also the youngest president in history! "Everyone, listen to me. Given the current situation, it's unrealistic to think we can stop the Demon Wings from advancing further. What awaits us is only surrender and death. This is something you must face and accept bravely. And we have only one solution: find a new home!" Rodin's words woke everyone up. Indeed, the Demon Wings have returned with even greater strength than before, while the power between the Alliance and the Horde is far less than it was last time. The war, which is completely disproportionate, will only be a matter of time before we lose. "You mean to leave Lili Mars? No way! How can we abandon our fellow citizens and leave selfishly?" Magni Bronzebeard was the first to object. As king of Ironforge, although Ironforge had fallen, his dwarven race had survived the most. "Let's not talk about abandoning our own people. How can we leave? Apart from the Dark Portal being the only gateway to the outside world, we have no way out. The Draenei ship? It has already crashed. With their current technology and capabilities, they can't possibly rebuild a warship as powerful as the Stormwind Citadel. Where does the Dark Portal lead? To Centauri. Do you think only we can reach there? Can the Demon's Wings not make it?" Jaina Proudmoore also disagreed with Rodin's approach. As perhaps the most powerful and oldest mage in the Alliance, she held great disdain for the young president of the Mage Society. "No, we can leave. Although our mage association has suffered heavy casualties, you have ignored my power. As long as we gather all the mages in the league and forcibly tear apart space to open a star gate, most of the survivors will be able to leave!" Rodin said out his idea. "Crazy... Too crazy!" The audience fell silent, it seemed no one would support his idea. Indeed, the idea was too crazy. If space were forcibly torn apart, as long as the magic array was unstable and there wasn't enough magical power to maintain this portal, it could close at any moment. Those inside the portal would be permanently imprisoned in the void, and the massive backlash of magic would be enough to consume the entire Stormwind City. Not to mention, the destination? Where would they end up? No one knew. The long meeting lasted more than two hours without any results. After the meeting, Rodin called out Jaina Proudmoore. He knew that the only person who could help him now was the powerful mage. "Roddin, if you still want to tell me about your crazy plan, don't waste your breath. I'd rather die than take that big a gamble." Jaina Proudmoore had a vague idea of why Roddin had asked her to stay. "Jaina, perhaps you will change your mind after learning about my detailed plan. Follow me!" Rodin dragged Jaina to the library. From the bookshelves, he pulled out an ancient parchment book. "Look. The young planet mentioned in this book!"
