Nicholas comes to Joy's room

Joy get ready the Richardsons are coming. I don't want any drama from you behave yourself: Nicholas says

Dad please don't do this to me. I'm begging you. I promise to be a good girl please don't do this to me: says Joy

you are getting married and that is all. I need this money: says Nicholas

Dad I promise to work and help you; says Joy

no amount of work will help me get the money I need so stop the drama and the cry. Get ready: Nicholas shouted and walked out of the room.

At noon, the Richardsons arrived

Liliana; welcome to our home

William: thank you Mrs. Blankson

Nicholas: have you decided about the marriage between your son and our daughter?

William: yes we have decided, the marriage will push through

Liliana: alright then let's discuss the dowry. as we have already said, we want a huge sum of money as dowry before our daughter marries your son.

Gloria: that won't be a problem.

William: before we give you the money, we need to discuss something with you

Nicholas: what?

William: we will take Joy with us so that the marriage will be done in our city

Nicholas and Liliana look at each other in disbelief.

after a while, Nicholas and Liliana came back to the living room

Nicholas: we accept

William: good

William hands over a suitcase full of money to Nicholas. Nicholas tells Liliana to tell Joy to get ready to leave with the Richardsons and Liliana leaves

Joy pack your things, you are leaving with your future husband and his parents: says Liliana after entering Joy's room

Joy screams; what? why am I leaving with them now?

Liliana because they have paid your dowry.

oh God, how can my father and you sell me? Joy cries. this is not fair

Liliana: would you get ready on your own or should I false you? don't be dramatic

Joy gets up and starts packing her things. Liliana leaves

Liliana comes to the kitchen and tells the maid to make sure Joy pack all her things and bring Joy to the living room.

After almost thirty minutes, Joy comes to the living room with her things.

My dear you look pale, it looks like you have been crying: Gloria asks

she is fine. she is just sad that she is leaving us: says Liliana

Gloria says: don't worry you can call and write them anytime, okay

The Richardsons says goodbye to the Blanksons and leaves with Joy
