Chapter 28 SPRING IS FOR FESTIVAL VIII “What if it was just a prank?” “A prank?” I scoffed. I slammed my hands and splashed the water. “If that was a prank, then it was not funny. That joke almost killed me!” I swam away from him and took the path we had before, leaving him behind. Seth shouted for my name, but I walked at a steady fast pace, not looking anywhere. “Seah! Elyseah!” Something protected me from frigidness. “You will get sick.” He matched my pace speed. Lucky for him he had long legs, but I couldn’t care less about that. The thought about what happened earlier still made me angry. I gritted my teeth, uttering curses inside my head and trying to catch my ragged breathing. “Let’s just go back to our home, but please, wear this.” I only stopped to put on the overgown that he used, but after that, I went ahead with him. He followed me without saying anything. “It’s not my home.” “It serves us our home for tonight.” “And not because I wore what you asked me doesn’t mean I am fine, so don’t talk to me.” “God, Seah!” He said beside me. “Why are you mad at me? I didn’t do anything.” “Well, for someone who has not experience meeting death and trauma a lot of times, it is easy for you to say that.” I looked at him. “Don’t talk to me.” “Anyone could have a ‘life-death experience,’ Seah. Some were caused by their clumsiness.” I faced him. “Are you saying that I am clumsy, the reason why I almost got r***d?” “That’s not what I am saying!” he said with gestures to further explain himself. He sighed and brushed his hair frustratedly. “You’re being unreasonable.” “You can’t understand me.” I shook my head. “You can’t. Let’s just go home, and until then, refrain yourself from speaking because all of the living things irritate me right now.” “I don’t like that attitude of yours,” he whispered, but I still heard it. I rolled my eyes at him. “No one is pushing you to like me or any part of my being. Thank you for your concern.” Just like what I said, none of us said any more words until we entered an establishment full of drunk men, all were wearing a mask. “Cavreonette,” Seth told the woman at the counter. The woman called a man to come. She pointed us. Seth said an address. “Alright,” the man uttered. He nodded at both of us. We walked after him as he exited the building and went to the line of parked expensive cars. We stopped in front of a volcano red car. Seth opened the door of the backseat for me despite how I acted earlier, and I loved how he was still nice. Another person added to the group, but the silence reigned until the car parked in front of his house. We stepped out of the car, paid him, and said ‘Thank you.’ The car left, but I was still looking at the path that it takes. “That man literally heard your address once.” “They are the pride of this place especially during festivals. They know everything in this area and can you take you to your place with just one mention of your address. Just say it and give them your payment. There were also no reports of abusive or p*****t drivers.” “This place got it all, huh?” “Yeah.” He smiled while staring at me. “He put you in a good mood and made you talk. I should have given a larger tip for him.” I punch his arm. “Silly.” Everyone was gathered in the living room, two couples were making out. Ayuna immediately stood up upon seeing the man beside me. She went to him and kissed him on the cheek. “Seth~” He encircled his arm around her waist to keep her balance. Seth looked at Gabriel who was sitting solo on the nearest couch. “Did you let her drink?” Gabriel shook his head, face as blank as a white sheet of paper. “No, she's just teasing you.” He gently pushed her away from him. “Ayuna...” Ayuna laughed and stood firmly, very different from a while ago. She threw me a look, causing my brow to rise which made her laugh. “I just want to see her jealous.” “Don't. She's not in a good mood. Something happened.” I interrupted because my blood boiled. Unfortunately, for her, my evening was ruined due to the incident in the water bath, and she just added fuel to my fire. “And why would I be jealous? It's not like he's my boyfriend. If he is, all I would do in return is make you drink water from the toilet.” The people were now staring at us, forgetting that they were doing something private in public. They shouted and cheered us up, betting on who could give the most savage remark. “You're being mean just because you had a bad day,” Ayuna commented, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “What about you? You're in good mood that's why you're acting flirty with a man who's not even yours?” “He isn't yours either.” “Did you hear me owning him?” I raised my chin. “Maybe you should really go back to lower level and study again, so you can understand what I am saying. I don't want to talk with a girl who's acting b***h, but her mindset was like a fourteen years old.” I rolled my eyes again before leaving them, unsatisfied on the early end of the show. I stopped on the second floor outside Seth's room to return the overgown and thank him for the clothes. He saw me standing and opened the door of his room to let me inside. “My bathroom has a heater. You can use it.” “No. I just came here to say sorry for today. We were supposed to go to a concert, and I'm sure you planned to go to some spots, but I ruined it. Maybe, I overreacted to what happened and even blamed you,” I said in a low, regretful voice. “I'm really sorry.” “Seah... Come here.” He opened his arms for me, the paper bag still in his hand, but I didn't come any nearer. He shook his head with a smile on his lips then remembering what he was holding, placed it on the foot of his bed. He was the one to approach me and embraced me tightly. “My plan for today is to let you enjoy this event.” #
