Genesis Islands

Welcome to the-actual-game DM  There is a bright purple sky in a busy city, one which is much busier than usual. A city filled with oddly-shaped buildings, with neon lights glowing radiant shades of pink and blue and green. We see colorful banners draped from windows, street vendors selling alcohol, food, cold treats, crafts, almost anything you could imagine. We see performers, people telling stories through songs and magic. Taverns have their doors wide open, playing loud and joyous music. Colorful robes rush around as young kids of all races play games with sparkling sticks and glowing fake jewelry. It's a hot day, but the heat doesn't seem to  bother anybody. It's the second day of the Equinox Festival, after all, a time for peace and celebration, or in some people's cases, just an excuse to get drunk. What are all of your characters doing to celebrate? Dm yep! you see two bars, one that looks very high-class and has a neon sign outside saying "Supernova," and one that looks a bit more middle-class, but the neon sign outside is turned off and since i don't think i mentioned it, it's around 5:30 PM Aeris Aeris is out in the street performing a couple different songs on his flute and definitely giving kids sparklers and free reign over his drum DM nice! if you have your character sheet, could you roll a performance check? Apolly Apolly is watching Aeris Play from a few feet away trying to keep unseen Euphoria Euphoria is probably walking around and weaving through the crowds of people trying to find the shittiest alcohol vendor possible. She probably pauses a little bit to watch Aeris preform, though. Mirin Mirin tries to enjoy the festivities and is just not having a good time, so she’s gonna go up to the bar with it’s sign turned off and see if it’s open xakykwd how are we wanting to roll? Dm  just do a d20, i trust yall don't abuse your power xakykwd  okay i gotta grab my dice skonya  lmao ill probably just use google and send screenshots when I roll a one or twenty cause those are always funny xakykwd  ill use google for now vkye  mirin, you can tell it's Definitley open, judging by the loud singing coming from the bar, as waiters and waitresses struggle to serve the large crowd. it seems to be mainly lower or middle class people, and likely people who aren't from Carleona xakykwd  i rolled a 12 with a bonus of +3 so 15 total vkye  nice! apolly and euphoria, you can tell that this person performing is pretty good at what he's doing, though it's a little difficult to hear him well between the sound of everyone else, and the jingling noises coming from the gems strung from Euphoria's horns Apolly     Apolly is gonna try and slink closer to Euphoria and kinda try and act like he “bumped into her” vkye  alright, you do that Apolly     ”I’m ssso sorry miss. How are you this day of revelry?” Euphoria     Euphoria's just nodding her head slightly, trying to get her horns to jingle along with the song. When Apolly bumps into her she stops and just tilts her head to the side with one last jingle to look at him. "I'm enjoying it! I'd really like to try some shitty alcohol, though. And you?" Apolly     He smirks “if sssshity alcohol is what you’re looking for I know just the place” Euphoria     Euphoria actually, like, perks up at the offer and grins. "Where where where?" Apolly     Apolly leads to the bar place that Mirin header too walking aside Euphoria “ssso. Tell me about yourself new friend” Euphoria     "Is there anything you would recommend I'd get here? I've never had the chance to buy alcohol so I don't even know where to begin!" Euphoria says as they walk into the bar, and then once inside she tilts her head to the side. "Well, what would you like to know?" vkye  The manager of the bar, a dark skinned gnome, comes towards Mirin, Apolly and Euphoria (who I assuming are sitting up by the bar), "Welcome to Carter Kane's. What can I get'cha three tonight?" Mirin     ”I’m not w-“ Mirin stops herself, sighs, and just says “A water, please.” Euphoria     "Well, it depends, if this guy," and Euphoria tilts her head to gesture to Apolly, "has any recommendations. Otherwise, I don't know! I've never had the chance to drink alcohol, what's the shittiest thing you've got or the strongest thing you've got?" vkye  He sets a mug of strong smelling alcohol on the bar next to Euphoria, and another thing of water by Mirin, "And for you, snakey fellow?" Euphoria     Euphoria takes the drink and smells it, her nose crinkles at the smell of the alcohol and then she just, downs it. Or attempts to, at least. She's literally never had alcohol, who knows how well her attempt to down it goes. vkye  hmm. roll me a constitution saving throw and we'll see how she reacts skonya  Oh man Okay hold up that is a Solid 18 vkye  okay, it burns the back of her throat a bit more than expected, but she can definitely take it. alright, to flash back outside so i don't ignore the other half of the party, how's osborn doing? gge  He’s looking disappointedly at his now iced tea, seeing the bar and walking in, throwing some birdseed behind him as he does. vkye  Alright, it's extremely busy, but he can see some open seats at the bar, and a couple of unoccupied tables Osborn   He struggles to climb up, but gets on top of a stool and asks for iced tea DM  "Sure thing, that'll be two silver," and the gnome running the bar passes him an iced tea. It's decent quality Apolly  Apolly smiles “whatever’s strong” he smirked
