~Ivory’s POV~
My eyes opened to an unfamiliar environment, I felt so weak with my hands and legs tied to a chair. I glanced up looking around the room I was in.
The glass of the window, while clean, showed signs of neglect. Even the birds wouldn’t be able to see it, but it was lackluster in its appearance. Not shining, or gleaming with the sun, but just a dull reflection of the sky and the terrain around it. And there were no normal scents one would expect to smell, just a very antiseptic scent in the air.
No smell of pine from the surrounding trees or cherry blossoms from the few scattered trees in the area. By all accounts, it was the very definition of a booming business, but clearly abandoned, and in haste, as if a sudden change had occurred.
I knew I was in trouble but I hadn't lost hope, I knew what I got myself into trusting the underworld's dangerous business, I don't know the heck I was thinking. It's dangerous but I do hope for a miracle, I thought and prayed silently I am not gonna leave like this, though I deserve to die. A tear slipped my eyes as I noticed the door opened revealing Jack.
"Quiet down, beauty. I don't like crying babies." He glared at me with his tobacco-stained teeth as he walked slouchily to the guy by the door and whispered to his ears.
“It seems she just transformed into a werewolf, the chats I had with her said it all, she wants to seal her wolf and needs wolfsbane.” He whispered to the man in a low breath which dawned on me they'd taken hostage of my headphones and phone. It explains the heightened hearing because they were a few meters away from me and I could still make out what they were conversing.
“Though she knows nothing about the supernatural world, did you think we could make money handing her over to the wolfhunters and council for the experiment?” He added, meeting my gaze, and I averted my gaze, glancing at the ceiling.
“That makes sense. We could make a whole lot of money from selling her out.” The man replied, his mouth twitching into an evil smile.
I was literally screaming inside knowing crying for help wouldn't work cause I was in a desolate area, alone with these beasts of a man that have no ounce of sympathy in them. I kept telling myself not to lose hope. I still believed I was gonna get saved.
“And she looks beautiful, boss. What did you think?” Jack questioned, raising a brow at him.
“No, I will pass, though. She's beautiful and endowed, but she's gonna die soon anyway." the man replied. He let out a sardonic laugh, sizing and eyeing me up.
I don't know the freaking experiment they're talking about, given that this building is screaming abandonment, I guessed it might take a few days before anyone notices a body smelling. I won't even get a befitting burial, I cried more upon realising that fact but was choked when I got slapped by the brown-haired guy whose hair had turned dirty brown probably because it was unkempt, with an unshaven beard.
“Let’s try the healing power on her, maybe it's true.” Jack said with an evil smirk heading to the entrance where I assumed there was another room, my brain couldn't register what he said at first until I saw him approaching me with a sharpened steel dagger which was reflecting his face.
He held up my chin forcefully, grinning from ear to ear with satisfaction as I screamed loudly, jerking from the hold of the chair, he slashed my cheeks, blood gushing out, smearing my face, the pain was becoming unbearable as the cut refused to heal. Heavy sobs racked through my body, the reddish liquid staining my clothes.
“She’s not healing, and the wounds refuse to close.” I could make out Jack with disappointment laced in his voice, relaying to the man. My views were starting to blur and my eyelids feel heavy, I knew I was losing so much blood and these assholes care less about it.
“Get her wolfsbane. She will definitely react to that, every werewolf reacts to that, it's their poison.” The man ordered.
I frantically screamed in my head, my theory was wrong thought wolfsbane-sealed wolf's.
“Celene, please I need your help right now, you have to help me, I don't want to die now." I called out to Celene in my head and felt guilty for treating her unfairly.
Jack gave me a nod and a smile while flashing his goddamn teeth. As soon as he showed up with a filthy green cup filled with liquid, my hopes were crushed. Assuming that I am unlucky in this life, I would probably ask to be blessed if I had the chance…
"Drink." I shook my head, but he gestured to the other guy, who held my chin up right away and forced the liquid into my mouth. A few minutes later, my eyelids became heavy. I became uneasy and began to feel lightheaded, I was in pain.
My bones cracked and furs covered my arms, the chair holding me back cracked and broke as I stood gigantically in the room. I growled, my subconsciousness leaving me slowly.
‘’Ooh- Shit.” The man exclaimed, bringing out a heavy metal which he smashed on my head but I couldn't feel anything.
“You are a bloody fool. You have no freaking idea you have sealed me with your damn freaking words the day you left our mate.” Celene yelled inside me cussing out.
“I am sorry, I am so sorry.” I choked out muttering with the last breath left in me, my subconsciousness was starting to fade but I forced it wanting to be aware of how Celene was gonna deal with those bastards and wanted to be in check if she should go berserk.
Celene growled and snarled, baring her fangs at them, blood trickled down on her pelt, the place she had been hit by the man.
They shouted, widening their eyes in a confused state, and waved their daggers into her eyes to scare her off. Celene crouched low to the ground, her muscles tensing ready to spring into action with a low growl. She lunged at Jack snatching him by the arms with her claws, she snapped his arms and Jack screamed trying to wiggle from her grip.
The man aimed at Celene with his daggers stabbing her in her lower abdomen, she tossed the man to the ground and made advances towards him with Jack groaning in her grip, baring its teeth in a feral grin.
The man huddled holding his arm making for a run, Celene snapped Jack’s head as he fell lifelessly on the ground. She growled and made to sprint after the man who appeared with a large number of men all dressed in black.
They huddled together brandishing their weapons and aiming for Celene all at once, she let out a low growl hissing in pain as she was being stabbed in her pelt. I screamed inside her, feeling the pain rushing to my veins.
She pounced and lunged at them snapping their heads, and devouring them with her fangs, they fell lifelessly under her feet. She growled out loudly, snarling and whimpering to the door.
“It's okay, they are all dead.” I shouted barely audibly as my voice was faint.
“Where are you going, Celene?”
“Come to your senses, you are gonna hurt the innocent if you go out there, transform back. It's fine now, please.” I added and she snarled, speeding to the other room and knocking out everything in her way in anger.
Soon, she will be in the club and will kill a lot of innocent people. I was screaming nonstop inside her but all to no avail. We were faced yet again with an army who rushed at her, but she made the first move, springing into the air with a speed, devouring and snapping them with her claws.
I tried to keep my eyes open as I looked up when I heard sounds, she turned to meet familiar hazel eyes and tossed the guy to the side. I frantically yelled in my mind begging her to stop, my view was blurry but the lavender scent clouded my senses, I couldn't mistake it for anyone.
He groaned and stood up approaching Celene with slow but steady steps, Celene’s eyes were wild and unfocused. He was breathing heavily, stepping forward, speaking softly, trying to calm Celene. But it's no use - Celene is beyond reasoning, and she snarls and snaps at him.
He steps back, heart pounding, locking eye contact with Celene meeting her gaze.
“It's gonna be okay, calm down.” He voiced out.
"It's okay, love. It's okay. I'm here. I'm here." He takes a deep breath, calling out to Celene, using a soft, soothing tone.
Celene’s ears twitch and the snarling starts to die down. He kneels down and reaches out a hand, gently stroking her fur. She lets out a low, rumbling growl, but doesn't try to attack. Instead, she begins to settle down, relaxing into his touch.
He continues to stroke my wolf's fur, murmuring words of comfort and reassurance. My eyelids felt heavy, I could feel Celene relaxing and her breathing evens out, the wolfsbane injected by those assholes is taking effect, making me feel woozy and sleepy.
Our eyes fluttered closed as she relaxed fully into the man’s embrace.
I sniffled in a half-awakened state smelling the heavenly scent of floral lavender. The faint chirping of birds outside, and the air is fresh and invigorating.
I fluttered my eyes open, squishing my iris, adjusting to the morning sun rays that peeked through the window. I was lying in a comfortable bed, wrapped in warm blankets. The room is peaceful and quiet, and the sunlight is streaming in through the window, casting a soft glow on the walls.
I furrowed my eyebrows assessing the room and it dawned on me that the events of last night flooded my memories.
The bathroom door slowly opened and there he was standing at the entrance with towels draped on his waist and water droplets fal
ling making a sound on the tiled floor.
“Rolf?” I yelled out, widening my eyes.
