~Ivory's POV ~ We entered the private elevator and I gasped when his enormous and imposing stature filled inside the elevator, I looked so tiny staying behind him. We reached the underground car park and I heaved a sigh of relief that we didn't meet any workers. My boss walked up to a red Yamaha golf car and slid into the driver's seat. He arched a brow at him as I stood fazed with my mouth wide open. I groggily entered peering into the rear mirror with my hands on my thighs. "Hello?" He said, waving his hands in my face, interrupting me from my thoughts as I had zoned off. "Yes, sir." I answered, jolting from my thoughts to glance up at his face. "Your address?" He asked furrowing his brow with his hands on the steering wheel. "Chestnut Hill." I said, which he hummed with my response. We drove in silence till we reached my neighborhood. "Let me alight here, sir." I disclosed strapping my handbag. "You sure?" He asked. "My house is right there, and thanks for the ride." I said as he pulled over. "What's your name?" He asked, making me stop in my movement to alight from the car. "Ivory Hunter, Sir." I answered, waiting for him to say something, but he just nodded his head. I glanced up at the direction his car zoomed off to, relief washed over me and I heaved a heavy sigh taking a long stride to my house. My mind drifted to Rolf and I felt a longing in my heart, the feelings I felt with him were also the same with the stranger. An exasperated sigh left my thin lips and I rubbed my neck, Celene had been quiet ever since and a part of me was worried. I felt insecure with her silence. "Has she left me?" I asked no one in particular with a half smile that formed on my face entering my house. My aunt was seated on the couch watching movies as usual with popcorn on her lap, my eyes darted toward the suitcase that was placed at the entrance of her room. "I'm back, Aunt Marie." I announced, dropping my handbag on the couch and taking a seat opposite her as I reached for the popcorn in her hands, crunching it and humming at the satisfaction in my stomach which had been grumbling since. "How was your interview?" She asked, not taking her eyes off the 16-inch LG TV. "It was so hectic and you wouldn't believe what I went through today because of my tardiness." I explained to her, crunching popcorn in between. "I nearly ran into trouble today." I added. I explained everything to her, including how I followed Max and was rescued by the CEO. "Are you kidding?" My aunt exclaimed loudly. "You met the Billionaire CEO, and he gave you a ride home, and you didn't deem it fit to invite him over for tea." My aunt yelled, widening her eyes while fanning herself with her hands. I narrowed my eyes squinting my eyebrows at her reaction. "OMG! You've landed yourself a good deal, my dear. I am so happy for you." She said grinning from ear to ear. "Aunt!" I yelled, widening my eyes. "You weren't even concerned, I was almost raped." I explained with jaws wide open pursing my lips into a thin line. "I am so sorry, it slipped my mind, ooh my bad, I should have asked." She apologized with a sullen look on. "It's okay, at least I am safe now." I shrugged it off knowing she was just excited hearing about the news. "What's the suitcase for?" I asked, creasing my eyebrows. "I will be traveling to Chesterfield tomorrow for the afternoon flight. An urgent issue came up, and Mark insisted I come over." She explained with a crestfallen look. "What did you mean? I thought we had talked over it that we will be going together to Chesterfield, and I will transfer my work to the branch in Chesterfield.'' I whined, raising the tone of my voice. "I knew, but I couldn't help it right now, and I am sorry. I knew I was supposed to be here for you till you pack, but my husband wants me over there." she apologetically muttered on a low breath. "I knew it, that asshole-" I yelled, balling my fists and gritting my teeth as I was cut off by my aunt with her hands in the air. "Don't you call Mark that, it's an urgent issue." She explained, rolling her eyes and I scoffed. "It's just for a week, Ivory. You sort yourself out with the job and transfer to Chesterfield and I will help you settle down, easy peasy." She acknowledged. I sighed running my hands in my hair in frustration, I stomped and dragged my feet onto my room slamming the door shut. Tears rolled down my cheeks shimmering in my iris, I am feeling so lonely, a pang of guilt raised in my heart. I had a feeling something terrible was coming my way, but I don't know what it was. My stomach churned at my thoughts, drifting off to my so-called mate, my wolf who had been silent ever since I disappeared from his sight, my boss that I couldn't help being drawn to, my late Dad who has been laid to rest. I couldn't pinpoint my head over it which made me cry, the emotions bursting out as more tears rolled on my cheeks. After lying down crying for a long time, I reached for my laptop on my desk continuing the research on werewolves I had abandoned. I checked out more places where I could buy Wolfsbane to seal the freaking beast in me. I groaned in exhaustion and my stomach grumbled then it dawned on me I hadn't had anything sustaining since sunrise, it rumbled again and I rubbed over it feeling a slight pain in the lower region of my stomach. I dragged my feet to the kitchen sulking under a low breath on noticing the presence of my aunt in the kitchen making dinner, I shoved the pancake she had made into a plate and made to reach for the doorknob. "You're gonna be fine, Ivory." She Called, but I hummed in response, heading to my room. My eyes widened on seeing the contents on the display of my PC, I dropped the pancake I was munching on, grabbed a sweatshirt and blue baggy pants, tied my platinum blonde hair into a ponytail with a cap on and my headphones clung to my ears. "I will be going out for a while." I said to my aunt, placing the plates in the dishes, rushing for the door, not waiting for her response. I heard her sigh and groan, I know she had no choice, but she picked me over her asshole husband. A total jerk, he has no feelings and behaves like a psychopath. I hailed a cab to my destination, getting off at a club called the Sunset Clubhouse. I hoped the guy I messaged would turn up, I have already had enough for today. I make my way into the Clubhouse, full-blown activities have already started with couples lingered around dimly lit lights and music blaring out loudly from each corner clouding my ears. I was glad I came with my headphones. I would have fainted the very moment I set foot here like the other time. I texted the guy disclosing my arrival at the club to him, I waited for the guy at the bar front downing a glass of water, the waiter was staring at me strangely probably the fact that I ordered a glass of water. My thoughts were interrupted when my phone vibrated, checking the notifications and the guy texted me to meet him in the underground basement. I grabbed my phone making my way to the underground basement. The underground basement looked a bit darker as I squinted my cornea adjusting to the low light area. The walls are painted a dark color. There are exposed pipes on the brickwork, my feet dragged along the room on the concrete hard floor muffling every sound I make. The basement has a separate bar, where the music is a little louder. There are tables and chairs scattered around the room, and a pool table set up with chips and cards. My eyes darted around the room looking for the guy, I sat down in a secluded corner waiting for the guy. I hoped he came with it and would save me all the troubles and fears of being transferred into a beast. “Hey.” I glanced up at a set of green eyes and dirty brown hair. The guy holds a glass of wine in his hands with a smile plastered on his face. “Can I sit with you, beauty?” He asked, showing his tobacco-stained teeth. A frown etched on my face glaring at him, I gave a head shake to give my disapproval, but he didn't seem to back down. He stood rooted on the spot not taking an inch after being rejected. “Sorry for delaying you, I am Jack.” A guy walked up to me, which I assumed to be the guy I wanted to purchase from. He led me to a corner and we made a turn to a private room, my palms were sweating from being folded together for a long time. It's a risk I had to take and I don't want to feel bad about it. "This is my boss.” The guy said, pointing to a guy with a black suit who nodded and waved at me. “This is the drug, but-” He handed the drug over to me, and I checked the contents. “You’re going to use it now so we can monitor the effects in your body.” He explained and I nodded while taking the glass of water with the drug. I gulped it down in one go, and Jack widened his eyes, nodding in the direction of the man who was seated on the chair. I felt something crawling in me and wanted to rip me apart, my eyelids felt heavy and I succumbed to the darkness falling limply on the floor.
