~Ivory's POV~ The door fell down with a thud and I glanced up, locking eye contact with a pair of amber eyes that were burning with fury. He looked so breathtaking with his Short golden French crop hair brushed to the side, and his huge form hovered in the entrance, he yanked Max away from me. I stood in a daze widening my eyes and seeing Max some meters away from us. "Are you okay?" He questioned, checking my wrists and caressing my face for any injury with his deep, husky voice, which had me flinching. I nodded swallowing the lumps in my throat as I locked eye contact with him yet again. I briefly saw his orbs changing to red, instantly clenching his fists and gritting his teeth as he moved to Max, who was groaning on the floor. "I will chop off your freaking hands and feed it for dogs to eat. I will pluck your miserable eyes and offer it for vultures to eat." He swore, raising his husky voice, which echoed down the room, and I shook slightly at the intensity of his voice. "What the hell did he do to you?" He asked, arching a brow and grasping my hands. I was still traumatized and couldn't utter a word, I was staring blankly into space and mesmerized by his presence. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I was unable to say something. Beads of sweat trickled down my forehead. "You are gonna be fine." He said, wiping away the tears that cascaded my cheeks using the palm of his hands. A man who was dressed in black suits and looked so huge entered the room grabbed Max by the collar and dragged him out of the room. He pulled my hands taking me from the horrible scene as I heard the cries and screams of Max. "Are you okay? Talk to me, please." He pleaded, his amber eyes boring deep into my soul. "I am fine." I stuttered sniffling my tears and wiping it. He heaved a heavy sigh motioning for me to have a seat on the exquisite tufted sofa. "Thanks for saving me. I owe my life to you. I couldn't have imagined what would have happened-" I choked out stuttering. I don't even know yet. He looked familiar, as if I have known him forever. "Is this also some sort of werewolf's supernatural power?" I asked Celine in my head who kept mute and didn't utter a word. "It's okay. Explain how you got involved with that freaking asshole." He questioned ruffling his hair. I explained the whole thing to him not excluding a single part, I felt like a damsel in distress and he's my knight in shining armor. He balled his fist punching into the wall which creaked and gave a sound. I was in total shock with my jaw dropped at such the impact his fists could make on the wall. "I will f*****g kill him." He swore gritting his teeth. Why the hell is he angry when he doesn't even know me? Is he some sort of a human rights activist? "Excuse me, did you know me?" I asked quickening my brows while tilting my head sideways. He ignored me, moving closer to me, inching close to my neck as I backed away, affected by his closeness, putting a hand on his chest. His heart was pounding in his chest loudly. It felt as if we had known each other. He nodded frantically, his thin lips pouted and twitched into a smile. "Thanks for today. I owe you my life. I would have treated you over a meal, but we can't get to see again." I exhaled, strapping my handbag and taking slow steps towards the entrance. "There's a way, you can still get the job." He announced as I halted turning back to face him. "You can get the job." He retorted handling a business card for me and I widened my eyes checking it. I rubbed my eyes to be sure of what my brain processed, I read the contents of the business card again, and my hands flew to my mouth. "OMG, you're the billionaire CEO of Rose Thorn companies. I can't believe this." I exclaimed sizing him up with my eyes as he nodded. The air stilled around us and I could hear my quickening heartbeat, I stood there in a daze unsure of what to say and what to do. There was a part of me that told me, he was the billionaire CEO being talked about with the way he carried himself and his flawless fair skin. He was dressed in a midnight blue tuxedo shirt with peak lapel, double-breasted waistcoat, black bow ties, pleated shirt with French cuffs, silk knot cuff links, and a button stud with matching pant trousers, and patent leather shoes, his brand wristwatch clung to his wrist and one would know with the exquisite design that he's quite a rich guy. I squished my eyebrow checking his office and it dawned to me that I was in a penthouse suite, I palmed my face in embarrassment and blood rushed to my cheeks, I was shaking my head frivolously no fazed by his presence. I was baffled and pondering on why he had saved me. "Did you want the job or not?" He questioned furrowing his brows with a smirk evident on his face interrupting me from my train of thoughts. "I still want it please." I replied quickly. "Then it was done, but on a condition, the job you applied for was a secretary at the quality control lab unit. You are to resume as my personal Secretary tomorrow." He said, stating with a firm tone I knew right away I wouldn't be able to convince unless I didn't want the job. I nodded, swallowing the lumps in my throat and searching for the right words to say, but my lips were sealed, no words coming out. "Ehmm- thank you so much, Sir. I don't know how to repay you, Sir, but I will surely will." I stuttered, embarrassed of when I had blurted inviting him for a treat, not knowing who he was. "You can call me Ferd." He introduced himself smiling. He actually looked cute when smiling, but he wore an expressionless face, and he was cold. I exhaled, knowing I had to be at his service now and get used to his temperament and cold look, which could have one shuddered away in fear. "Are you sure you're okay? I can have the doctor come to treat you right away." He questioned again, moving closer to me, and I cast a dismissive glance at him, waving my hands in the air. "I am okay, and I will be going now, Sir. I will surely resume early tomorrow and thanks." I said, fiddling with my hands and reaching for the doorknob. "I can drop you off if you want." He disclosed. I quicked a brow at him widening my eyes at the concern he had shown. "No, thank you, Sir. You've done more than enough." I said opening the door wide before his voice rang again. "I insists." He shrugged reaching for the car keys on the neatly large mahogany desk. I trailed behind him catching my breath inhaling and exhaling to what trouble I got myself into.
