~Ivory's POV~
I took a long strides to the receptionist strapping and tightening my handbag on my shoulder. I was freaking nervous, I had put my pink headset on my ears and won't want to faint in the interview cause if my heightened hearing.
"Hello, good morning ma'am." I greeted the petite woman who seemed to be in her mid-thirties with a full fledged smile as she glanced up.
"Good morning. What can I do for you?" She asked, smiling back at me.
"I have an interview for the post of Secretary. Could you please point to the direction the interview will be held?" I replied, fiddling with my hands.
"Ok, that isn't a problem." She disclosed.
"Miranda, lead her to the conference room." She called out to a girl with exquisite strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes which complemented her hair color.
She took me along a direction and make a U-turn which led to the elevator, we hopped in with co-workers who are also going to work for their various departments. She punched in the floor number as we make our way into the modern, high-speed elevator. It's a spacious, well-lit elevator, with a stylish interior and smooth operation. It has a clear display of the floor numbers and the elevator dings, and we make our way out.
I was trailing behind her checking the luxurious and expensive touches of the company. The Rose Thorn Groups of companies, a conglomerate company. is one of the biggest and most famous companies in Philadelphia. They have companies all around the world, their food production company is situated in the City center offering International and incomparable Chinese and French cuisine.
The company walls with a modern, sleek design are painted in neutral colors, grey with a shade of blue that gave the space an eerie calm and the plush carpet underfoot muffled every sound I took.
"We are here." Miranda announced motioning me to go inside and I stepped into the conference room which was shrouded in a dim, hazy light that filled through the heavy drapes drawn across the windows.
I stood in awe with my jaw dropped at the many applicants for the job, the conference room was disoriented as it was accompanied by murmurs from the applicants who are hanging around on the chairs which are well arranged in a neat rows, there's a stage at the front with a large screen and podium.
I took a long stride, sitting beside a green-eyed girl who seemed to be of my age, putting my handbag on my lap.
The screen was displaying numbers unknown to me wondering what was going on.
"Hello, what's the number meant for, please?" I muttered under a low breath to the girl who glanced up, noticing my presence, which she was so embarrassed with her phone.
"That's the application number which was given to you when you applied. You will be called in by the number of your number shown on the screen." She explained nodding at me for approval.
"Okay, thanks." I hummed sighing cause I didn't think of that and didn't remember the number, I felt so ashamed scrolling through my phone and checking.
"How can I check for mine?" I asked with a creased brow after going through one hell of deliberating if I should ask.
"Check your email approval of the interview, a code is there and the number would have been given to you through the code." She explained, going through her phone.
My eyes widened, and I grimaced when the number popped on my screen.
"WTF!" I exclaimed loudly grabbing the attention of other applicants who eyed me down and continue with their business.
"What's wrong?" The green-eyed girl asked, furrowing her eyebrows and narrowing her eyes in curiosity.
"I think I have been called cause my number is 028 and the screen is displaying 065." I complained, explaining to the girl with squished eyebrows. My heart was pounding loudly in my chest, and I knew I might lose this job opportunity due to my tardy nature.
"Oooh, that's so bad, you can call the attention of a greeter and explain the situation to them. They might be of help." The girl whispered moving closer to me.
I heaved a sigh muttering a thanks to her as I walked up to one of the greeters who was leaning on the doorframe.
"Hello, good morning." I greeted smiling with my blue orbs darting in my vitreous humour, a look I always had on when pleading.
"Yes, what can I do for?" The guy asked, sizing me up with his brown eyes.
"My number had been called, and I missed it. Is there any chance they are going to call me up again?" I asked with a crestfallen look. I looked on the ground while fiddling with my hands like a little young girl who had been declined candy.
"Oops, I don't think there's any solution for that, but I can choose to offer you to meet the Chief-in-charge so you can explain your situation to him." he explained, rolling his eyes and glancing at me.
"OH, thanks so much; I would so much appreciate that. Could you please wait for a bit so I could take my stuff?" I asked hurriedly moving to my seat to take my handbag.
"Ooh, thanks. He has offered to let me meet the Chief-in-Charge and explain to him, by the way, I am Ivory Hunter." I explained to the green eyed girl gesturing to her with a handshake and a full fledged smile.
"Isabelle Edward, nice meeting you and I hoped we get the job and see again." She nodded taking in the handshake with a smile.
I walked up to the guy who gave me a scrutinized look as I trailed behind him, trying to catch up with his fast legs.
"I am too fast, right?" He questioned as the corner of his mouth twitched turning back at me.
"Kinda." I replied, rolling my eyes at the corner of my head imaginary.
"Sorry about that. Anyway, I am Max." He introduced slowing his pace staying beside me.
"I am Ivory."
"Which post did you apply for?" He questioned as we made a U-turn into a hall.
"Secretary." I muttered.
An antique chandelier hung from the ceiling casting a warm glow over whether center and illuminating the delicate executive round grey marble table with rays that radiated from the center of the hall.
I was looking around frantically exiting the room as Max pushed the door wide open into an alleyway. We had been walking for 10 minutes or more.
"Are we there yet?" I questioned arching a brow at him as we made a turn.
"Not yet." He replied, I was starting to feel uneasy about the whole thing and blamed myself for being late to get myself into the trouble.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the different sub-units of the company coming across some workers where everyone was busy and productive. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with people moving around and interacting with each other.
The office is well-lit and spacious, with comfortable furniture and plenty of natural light as I glanced through the see-through glass doors. The company logo is prominently displayed, and the overall design is professional and polished.
My eyes gleamed with one of admiration glancing with my eyes darting around and muttering a silent "wow".
"The look on your eyes showed it all that you are impressed, don't you worry. I will make sure you get the job you applied for and work here." He said.
I raised a brow at him unsure of what post he held in the company to decide who to work for the company and know the Chief-in-charge, a part of me was happy and I was still worried as we have walking for a while now.
The company is damn big, I concluded in my mind as we made a turn again.
"This isn't ending?" I exclaimed blurting out which I palmed my face in embarrassment.
"We will soon reach his office." Max answered smiling.
He put an abrupt to his walks and I waited until he opened a door wide open, I looked around hoping to see a well ventilated, air conditioned and a lot office not the other way round as I stepped into the office.
Max entered the room locking he door, I raised a brow, fear creeping into the the further way in my heart. My heart was beating rapidly against my chest.
"Why the hell did you close the freaking door and where's the man?" I questioned backing away from him to the wall.
"Easy, I meant no harm. The man will be coming soon." He said, snickering, reaching out for my hands with slow but steady steps.
"What the hell are you doing?" I dodged his movement rushing to the door, but discovered it was locked.
He raised the key up with a grin on his face, my eyes has started shimmering with tears I knew crying for help wouldn't work.
"You won't want to shout cause the door is soundproof and the key is with me." Max said laughing hysterically.
"I can't believe you're such a dummy. I love your shape, and your voice turns me on so much. Let me strike a deal with you, baby gir." He said moving closer to me trapping fme between the caressing my cheeks, I shivered at the touch trembling so hard.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I was hoping for someone to save my ass. I slapped his hands away when he tried to cup my breast.
"Wow, such a fierce beauty." He said checking his wrist.
I screamed on top of my lungs, balling my fists at the door and banging it with my utmost strength.
"Where is this stupid wolf?" I yelled to no one in particular at my wolf, who had kept silent over the past few weeks.
"Celene, please help me I need your help."
I said, calling out my wolf, but got no response. Max reached for me, but the metal door fell down with a thud, startling me.
My eyes darted to a pair of amber eyes, which looked so breathtaking.
