Rhys’ bedchamber had a fine bed and a fire that heated the room to perfection. Had he been lacking a thunderous headache, he might have enjoyed its comforts, but on this day, he wanted only to close his eyes against the light and slumber until noon. Sadly, he was not to be so fortunate. He had received a note with his tea that his host expected him to hunt at nine, so he rose with reluctance as Forbes filled a tub with hot water.
