Chapter 6We entered the parking garage through the street door, and headed down the stairs. It was dimly lit and smelled like a tomb. There was a light out on the second landing. At the bottom, I heard the street door open. I took Cindy by the arm and when she looked at me, I put my finger to my lips and motioned to her to pick up the pace. We opened the door to –p3 and stepped out onto the level where our car was parked. Cindy started for the car, but I took her arm and pulled her with me into a small open space next to the door, and we waited.
After about a minute, the door slowly opened and a man walked through it. I stepped up behind him. I grabbed his right arm and put him in a half nelson. At the same time, I put my left arm around his neck and pulled him back against my body. Cindy
