The Unbreakable Bond of Attraction

AT THE COLLINS' ln accordance with the doctor's instructions, Cynthia was at his office that faithful day with her precious little niece (Joanna). She and her sister (Joanna's mother) had always been at each other's throats since their early teens. But Joanna's arrival changed everything. Cynthia held Joanna's hands and said, "Thank you, sweetie, for coming into our lives. If you hadn't arrived, probably one of us would have killed the other by now. As soon as we find out what the problem is, I promise to make sure you receive the best treatment there is. THE JOHNSON'S "This reunion is by far the best one ever because we have in our mist someone whom none of us thought could survive child birth. But God Almighty, in His abundance mercy, did not only allow my Emma to survive but also give us this charming little angel. Everyone meets our Emma and her miracle child." Emma's father said, proudly introducing his beloved daughter and her family, who had just come back from the United States, where they had resided for years. Everyone was overjoyed and grateful to have them back home after such a long, long time and especially after escaping the hands of death. Not only was EGG a cute toddler, but she was also so adorable and very smart, probably too smart for a child of her age. Everyone fell in love with her at first sight. Well, everyone except her uncle "Daniel Taylor." The husband of her Dad's elder sister (Alvina Johnson Taylor) and the father of the twins (Diana and Dennis) At the closing of her grandparent's speech, they gifted baby EGG with acres of lands that were worth millions of dollars and other valuables. The other grandchildren were also given gifts, but none was compared to EGG. Seeing this , Daniel resentment for little EGG reached it limit. She was just three years old, and yet her shared of the properties was the most valuable. How could they give her a portion that double the value of his children's? "Today, I will have to bring to end this unfairness," Daniel told himself. The Collins' "Hello, little Princess," the doctor greeted. "Hello, to you too, doctor. So what do you have for us?" Joanna asked. We are so excited that our baby boo is finally going to be fine and healthy, Cynthia added. "Guess what, Doctor!" She said. After here, we're going to get me some stuff for school. Can you believe it? I am starting pre-school.... Which, by the way, I won't stay longer in because I am super smart. If you want, I can teach you some new words," she offered. Sweetheart, I would love to, but I have so much trouble with words, especially new ones. Anyway, how about you stay here with my assistant while I speak with your aunt?" He suggested. Well, how many minutes is this supposed to take? Because, one minute of my time is $10.00. dollars. "Joanna sweetie, the doctor isn't asking you for a favor. He's going to talk to me about your own results," Cynthia corrected her. However, Joanna's response cut everyone off guard. "Auntie Cynthia, I am aware of what he wants, but he still has to pay $10.00 dollars per minute after all, I won't just be sitting around. I planned to teach his assistant. "Wait, $10.00 for a minute?! That extortion!" He objected. "Trust me, she will learn a lot of things, I will teach her singing and dancing and to.... hmm,.. I guess that's all she needs to learn," Joanna said, tapping him on the shoulder. Okay then, if one minute is ten dollars. How much am I supposed to pay for ten minutes? "Mmm.. let count it.... 1, 2,...3– "Sweetie, do you want Auntie Cynthia to do the math for you?" Cynthia offered. –Uh- uhu! I am a pre-school student. Have you forgotten? I sure know how to count to ten. Here is how it's done; you count all of your fingers until you get to ten. Ten fingers are equal to ten minutes, and ten minutes equals ten dollars. Therefore, his bill will be ten dollars," she said. The adults couldn't stop laughing. "Fair enough, here is your $10.00," he said, handing her the money, but I have a question for you. What if she doesn't learn the songs or the dance within ten minutes? Will you give me back my money?" "What?!!!, she flared up, give you back the money? Auntie Cynthia, can I ask you something? Now that you've paid my school fees, assuming there's an accident and I died, will they give you back your money?" Hearing this, the doctor's face went pale like one whose secret has been uncovered... Cynthia noticed his expression and couldn't help wondering why such a childish statement would send him into a panic. Even Joanna sensed it. Feeling uneasy, she immediately tried to modify her question by adding.. "Or, maybe I did not die, but I refused to learn what my teacher teaches. Will my tuition be returned?–Wow, you're super smart," he cut in before Cynthia could answer, giving Joanna a thumb's up. Turning to his assistant, he jokes, "Madam, you heard her, tuitions are non refundable, so please give it your all." At this, everyone busts out into laughter again. As they walked into his office, Cynthia smiled as she watched the video she had just recorded. She instantly sent it to Joanna's parents, who were still out of the country, undergoing treatment. "Well, we have some news, but first, she will take you through a five minute counseling," the doctors said, motioning her to takeover.. "Thanks for your concern, but I don't need that right now, maybe some other time. I just want to know the results,"Cynthia objected. "Ma'am, it's your call, so we won't force you. However, we recommend that at least one of her parents be present," the doctor insisted. "Come on, Doc. I am more of a mother to her than my sister is, and besides, I am the toughest one in the family. So you can tell me whatever it is. I promised to handle it very calmly," Cynthia dragged. "Well, if you insist," the doctor sighed. Then, he began reading the report. "Miss Cynthia, we are sorry to inform you that Joanna had a very complicated disorder (Congenital Heart defect). A congenital heart defect is classed as a cardiovascular disease. It is a problem with the structure of the heart that a child can be born with. Some congenital heart defects in children are simple and don't need treatment.'–Okay? I am relieved, I thought you discovered something worse. So, I'm guessing we need surgery ASAP, right?' Cynthia interrupted. She won't be needing surgery. You see, Joanna's case is one of the complex ones. "Doctor, she interrupted again, don't worry about the money, it is not a problem at all. Our family can afford any amount you request in the blink of an eye. There's absolutely nothing we can't give in exchange for her life." "Am afraid we can't fix it, and neither can any other hospital in the country.
