Sierra didn’t say a word the whole drive to the Diner. But we were approaching another packs territory and rumors of this pack, is that they kill any intruders. My uncle is allowed into the town but never near the pack house or their land. He has been granted a lifetime approval for working as long as he pays a monthly fee to the pack for ensuring his safety. See before he came here, he was wanted by a few packs. There was a price on his head. He wasn’t a killer though. But he did challenge and win against a tyrant of an Alpha. In fact the Alpha tyrant was Alpha Ryan’s grandfather Lucien. After the defeat, Alpha Ryan’s father Alpha Lucas had convinced everyone that my uncle was going to destroy them. They all voted him out and attacked him aggressively. He barely left with his life. The Alpha of this pack now let my uncle stay and even offered my uncle some medical attention. The Alpha however knew what happened as there is always an announcement through our monthly communications of who is promoted, who is banished and any that have lost their life. This pack here, the Silver Blood pack is rumored to be the toughest, they live by the Moon Goddess’s original rules for her blessed chosen. And they are named Silver Blood as they inject their young with silver to have it in their veins. Silver becomes part of their blood and makes them more stronger than usual. Usually silver makes a werewolf weak that is why they do that. The survivors can withstand an attack against silver without getting weak. The young pups don’t have a strong chance of survival but the few that survive, are what make it better. Now mates are in the town of the pack, if they refuse the injection, they can not step on the pack property. Those that are strong get to live in the land near the pack house. But those in the city have to allow their children to do the silver injection or else they all get killed, no exceptions. Even if the Luna has to for her own son. Which has happened before. Six generations ago, the Alpha had a son in secret. He kept his mate a secret. He kept the pregnancy a secret and he started raising his son in a secret room under the ground. No one knew it was built, the Alpha did it when most of the pack went to a gathering to find their mates. Rumor has it, the Alpha got word that people suspected that there was a secret child born as they could hear the cries at night. The Alpha ran away with the child and his secret mate. But their scent was followed across two friendly pack territory and then onto an enemies territory where the baby, the Alpha and the mate was killed. The room underneath and the Alpha’s quarters, are now used as a Archive for all the records of the pack, the newcomers and there is even a area for those that joined but didn’t survive the silver. There is even a cemetery for the pack members. But they have it far east of the land near the coast. The cemetery is where many urns were buried of their loved ones. The first bloodline is buried deep, then a tree is planted on top, there is ribbon of their choosing, the next loved ones of the same bloodline is buried around it. There are flocks of many trees in circles. For example you would find 100 pine trees, 150 apple trees, other trees like maple trees, acacia, palm, fern, mandarins and so many more. I think it is an amazing idea. Because it also helps earth, building more trees which provide oxygen. And all these trees have encouraged many wildlife creatures to come live on their land. I asked my uncle if he may ask if I could join the pack. But he said if I loved the daughter of their neighboring pack, that they wouldn’t risk it. That Alpha Ryan may try to merge and take over. So I wasn’t allowed to join. I begged my uncle to try again but he wouldn’t. I look at Sierra, afraid to upset her more if I speak. But I should stop trying to feel bad as none of us could have predicted this outcome. I go to speak but sound didn’t come out. So I turn on the radio and beautiful soul by Jesse McCartney.
