I end the call with Ayesha and get up to take our plates to the kitchen. Mom and I just finished dinner and we are watching the evening news. But I want to wash the dishes before bed.
She offers to help me, but I tell her it's okay; I'll manage. Ayesha was telling me about an old client of mine who's here in LA on business. He was surprised to see her and asked if I work here too, which Ayesha told him I do, but I'm off tonight.
He used to give me big tips and always asked for me. He even wanted me to make house calls when he threw parties for his associates. But I don't do house calls, not after what happened with Kayden.
