Ch 14

Draken moved through the dense crowd to get a better view. Charolette was with him. Grey was positioned on the roof while Zane was on a clock tower 200 meters behind. They manned him with a sniper. Zane looked Christina with his scope.

“ what’s happening Zane” Draken asked through the communication device on his

“ Nothing yet” Zane replied.

“ Be on alert then”

"Roger”

“ nothing on my side either” grey replied

Draken was in a tough spot now. Even though he had people in advantageous points it would prove difficult for them to save her.

“ Look Draken he’s speaking again” charolette told Draken.

“ for too long the rebellion has disturbed this kingdoms peace” he said as he moved around the stadium.

“But now” he said as looked at Christina with a grim look

“ but now we have caught one of their allies”

Everybody started whispering and murmuring.

“ Isn’t that the lady from the church” one random guy asked

“ your right” another person replied

“ what about the children, what’s gonna happen to them.”

“ I feel kind of bad for her”

“ But we are not heartless enough that we would kill her fir no reason after all she does run an orphanage” the minister said

The whispers started again.

“ we suspect that the leader of the rebellion… , Draken has forced you to join their cause”

“ but do not fret if you tell me where your friends are hiding we will let you live”

Then the minister hovered his mike over Christiana’s face.

The whole crowd went silent waiting in anticipation. Christina looked down on the thousand’s of people who were waiting. They looked like ants from her perspective. For a moment she thought what would happen if she told them. Of course she would be sent free and she could happily live with her children or would she…?. She looked up at his ugly face and spit on him.

“ Die you pig”

He wiped the spit of his face and his expression changed from happy to disgust.

“ so be it” he said in a harsh tone.

“ Kill her” he orders

The guards put their weapons In position.

“ Zane !!!” Draken urged through his device

“ Already have a target” Zane replied.

At that that moment the whole world froze and time stopped everywhere. Draken felt a pointy tip of a blade behind his back.

“ would you look at that” the guy who was behind Draken said

“ what are you doing here” Draken replied in a quite tone

“ Nothing really, just here to witness another death by your hand”

“ everyone around you is at danger”

Then out of nowhere a loud voice came which shook the whole crowd and stadium.

“ Waiiiiiiiiiiiiit”

Christina looked down to see who it was.

“ Chris” she shouted.

“ what are you doing here”

“ don’t give me this bullshit” he said in pure rage

“ What did she do wrong, she did nothing to deserve this”

Everyone looked at him.

“ This kid” the minister remembered that day

“ but she’s with the resistance” someone said from the crowd

“ So what, she did that to protect you protect everybody”.

“ and what are you people doing coming here to see her die”

“ This isn’t a show”

“ Oye you don’t you dare touch her”

“ you think you can stop me” the minister said as he raised his hands. He took out a gun and aimed it at the boy

“ wait don’t stop” Christina suddenly said in panic

But before he could pull the trigger a random stranger stood up Infront of him.

“ what are you doing “ the minister said

“ to be honest I’m embarrassed that a kid had to tell me this” the stranger said

“ deep down I knew it was wrong but never had the courage to say anything”

“ that being said if you wanna kill him you have to go through me”

“ that’s right nobody needs to die” another stranger said.

And another rooted for him. In just a moment this one insignificant kid had changed the whole mood of the crowd.

“ Then you can all die stranding with her” he ordered his guard’s and just as the blade was about to reach her neck a bullet pierced his head. And the other got pierced by two swords which grey wielded.

“ Damn you, you were planning this from the start”

“ if I can’t have my way then I’ll just kill that child”

But even that plain failed when a blade cut both of his hands off. He screamed in pain and agony and dropped down.

“ yo-yo- you are gonna betray us too” the man said in pain and agony.

“ I never accepted to help you kill a child, the deal was to kill that woman” jackal replied

“ God damn every single one of you he said”

“ so what are you on our side now” grey asked in a sarcastic tone while freeing Christina.

“ I was never on anyone’s side I just did things that benefitted me”

“ well whatever the reason may be thank you, you saved my life” Christina said while rubbing her wrists where the cuffs were.

“ Don’t thank me thank that child over there” he said

“ ah he’s a reckless one for sure”

Look around you nobodies dying right now and I won’t let anyone die in the future. Draken said while holding the sword in his hands . Blood trickled down from his palm down to the ground.

“ so what will it be you wanna fight” Draken said fiercely

“ maybe another day we will meet again”

With that sentence he backed away. Draken moved forward. He got up to the stairs and to the podium.

“ I’ll ask you this once again”

Everyone’s attention was averted towards Draken

“ this is the perfect chance to seize back the country”

“ but I can’t do this alone, I need help, help from you, help from the people of this country”

“ and if you don’t wanna do this I understand, you can go back and live your old lives your peaceful lives but let me ask you will you really be free, will it really be peaceful all I ask now is a little help and you will have your country back”

“ so are you ready to take back the country”

With that sentence everyone shouted and took arms with the rebellion.

“ Then let’s raid this tower, the ruler is in there. Those of you who have weapons come in front while the others snach it from the guards” Draken order

Everyone ran to the building with Draken in the lead. Zane came down from the tower and repositioned himself. Christina went with Draken.

“Where are you going” grey asked

“ To visit an old aquantice” jackal replied

“ we’ve pretty much won the war what are you gonna do”

“ Ill think about it later” jackal replied as he went invisible replied as he went invisible

“ Well I better join them too” grey then left in a flash.

The army was advancing slowly. They had reached the main entrance.

“ captain what are your orders” a soldier asked

“ kill them all”

“ but sir they’re just civilians”

“ don’t question me soldier and shoot them before they reach here”

“ yes sir”

They aimed it towards the civilians but before they could shoot a bullet went through the captains head with his brains and blood splattered all over the ground.

“Captain !!!” one of the soldiers shouted

A bunch of weapons were on their heads. The army had reached the stairs

“ We surrender” one of them said his hands up

The others also dropped their

“ tie them up and move forward, we don’t have any time to waste”

They went further inside where Susan was.

“ Where did that bullet come from” one of the soldiers said who was tied up.

“ I saw no one who shot him”

“ judging from the wound only a sniper could have made that” another one said

“ But the only hole in this are is…”

They all looked up to the vent

“ that can’t be the constant moving fan wouldn’t unless, he waited for the right time”

Zane reloaded his weapon his weapon and repositioned himself.

“ go forward don’t stop” Draken shouted

The all pushed forward plowing through the soldiers all stationed there.

“ man the machineguns, don’t let them through”

Suddenly a number of machine guns came out from different directions surrounding them all.

“ s**t were dead” one of the guys with Draken said

“ is this it” another cried

“ Grey !!” Draken shouted .

In the blink of an eye everyone behind the machineguns was dead.

“ eh what happened” one of them asked

“ Oye when did he get there”

“ Who’s that”

They looked at the man who had killed all the soldiers and stood on top of the corpses

“ don’t fret I have your backs, now go” he said

“ don’t know what’s happening but we better go”

“ oye what’s the situation down there”

Guards had been stationed in front of Susan’s room to protect her. After the fight with Christina she fainted and didn’t wake up.

“ the civilians have broke through all our defenses and are all now heading here” he told the guards

“ what do you mean they broke through they’re just people just shoot them”

“ that’s the problem all of the resistance fighters are with them”

“ We can’t let them through this door, do something about it”

“ yes”

As the soldier turned around there was a gun, multiple guns.

“ s**t they’re already here”

“ drop your weapons you have no chance to win” Draken said

they dropped their weapons and surrendered.

Draken, grey, Zane and a handful of fighters went in the room. The room had a machine which was attached to Susan. She was on a bed with the windows open behind her giving a cool breeze. They all went up to her and she opened her eyes. She looked at Draken.

“ I lost huh” Susan said in a low voice

“ so you accept defeat” Draken said

“ yes, you can take the country if you want” she said

“ we won” Draken said to one of the fighters

“ go tell everyone”

A bright smile came on his face as he ran outside to tell the others.

“ its over” he said

A burst of joy came over everyone. Finally the rein of the tyrant was over. They decided to celebrate this occasion with a party.

“ It’s finally over” Zane said with a sigh

“ Yeah lets go get something to eat”

“ What do you wanna do with her commander”

“ Let her recover for now, we’ll deal with her later”
