Ch 4

You are the leader” she said with a raised eyebrow. She examined him thoroughly with her gaze. She had expected him to be older in his fifties with a burlier look and a mustache.

“yep that’s me” he said in a proud way.

“uhu” she said.

“and who might that be” she said to a small little girl behind darkens leg.

She was about 5. She had white short hair and snow white skin. She was wearing a big hamster suit.

“oh her” draken looked at her with a smile.

He picked her up and in front of charlotte.

“this is my adorable sister”. He said proudly

“gwd marning, my nam iz lucy” she said trying her best to speak as a 5-year-old could.

“and I also know ma alphabets”.

She put up her fingers and started

“a, b, c, d uhh umm g” she said with a confused look.

“That is freaking cute” charlotte thought to herself.

Suddenly an alarm went off. They heard a voice on the speaker.

“the perimeter has been breached, I repeat the perimeter has been breached this is not a drill”.

“hop on boyo we gotta get out” Zane urged everybody.

“let’s go” darken offered his hand to charlotte.

For a moment she hesitated but then she realized that this was the time if not now she would have to endure a life of suffering. This was the opportunity she needed. She held on to that hand firmly.

“good choice” he said with a smile.

They could see guards come in from the front.

They were all already seated in.

“FIRE” one of them shouted.

Unfortunately for them the car was bulletproof so the bullets just deflected of the windshield. Zane was driving and darken was on his side while Lucy and charlotte were in the backseat. Zane put the gear in reverse and pushed the pedal. His car went screeching backwards. They were out of the compound and in the streets running. The car raced through the city. You could see lavish and expensive houses on each side of the road. Charlotte could see the people looking at their car that was being chased.

“move out of the way” Zane shouted.

They were being chased by other armored car that were shooting at them. Zane pressed a button and out came a M2 browning .50 bmg cartridge machine gun.

“oye man de machine gun”. Zane said in desperation.

“oh me me I wana shwt dem” lucy said.

Draken took of his seatbelt and went to the back seat.

“maybe not another 10 years” Draken said to her as he pat her head.

He stood up and started shooting.

“oye Zane they’re too heavily armored I can’t do anything”. He said

“try to lose them”.

Zane took a heavy turn and got into the plaza. He bashed through all the fruits and stands and people were dashing left and right trying to evade him. draken kept shooting but he couldn’t even put a dent. And they were fanatically chased him.

“Zane do something they’re still chasing us” draken said in a desperate tone.

“lads I got me an idea but its gonna cost us our ride” zane replied.

“Just do it” draken said.

Zane suddenly stopped his car and everybody got out. He placed the car in a horizontally . Zane opened the bonnet to his car and took out a blue crystal ball. The cars behind them stopped and soldiers came out. These weren’t like the ones in the jail. They were heavily armored with exoskeleton suits on them.

“Mechsoldiers get to cover” Zane shouted.

They started shooting at them.

“Zane what is this masterplan of yours cause can you hurry.” draken said

“just give me five minutes boyo. Until then stall em”.

Draken went in the battlefield. They tried to shoot at him but he dogged all of them. He then went head to head with two soldiers. He countered their fists, grabbed both of their heads and bopped them. More soldiers came out and started and he evaded the bullets swiftly. Charlotte could see the whole fight unfold in front of her. She looked at draken with shock and aw. How could a human being fight like that? It’s impossible unless he wasn’t one. Before she knew it the fight had already finished with all of the soldiers. Draken sighed that the battle was over. But it was too late to celebrate because he suddenly saw another group of vehicles coming his way.

“Zane” he shouted.

“it’s about time I think”.

“done” Zane said.

He stood up and threw that blue piece of tech.

“get back”. Zane shouted

Draken hurried back behind the car where there was shelter. The soldiers looked down on the bomb. But before they had time to react the bomb exploded. A large shockwave covered the whole area. suddenly all the soldiers fell down.

“What the hell happened” one soldier asked.

“emp grenade, shut down all our equipment”.

“what do we do now” one asked.

“nothing were sitting ducks” the other replied.

“now’s our chance, let’s get out of here” Zane said.

They all ran in the opposite direction. Draken picked up Lucy and they were on their way. They went through the plaza where everybody was looking at them like they were some monsters. As they went down the sidewalk they turned right into a narrow passageway.

“What the hell did you do”. Draken asked

They were now out of danger and they slowed their pace. They were headed into the slums area. There was not much road to walk onto. Poorly built houses on the side. Rag tagged people on the streets. Charlotte could see a house with door a little open. A child was crying and her mother was trying to comfort her.

“I just rewired the battery of our cars power supply and turned into a emp bomb”. He replied

“well glad to have you on our team” draken said.

“what is this place” charlotte asked.

Zane looked at her with a surprised look

“huh guess the princess never came out of her castle”. Zane said.

“look around you charlotte, this is sector z the poorest of all the districts”. Draken said in a straight tone

She looked around her to see people with gloomy eyes and depressed impressions. Some kids went by running playing with themselves.

“why are you guys so poor” she said with a concerned look.

“you have to understand that not all the wealth is equally distributed”. Draken said.

“most people here work relentlessly all day just to survive”

“this all happened because she came in power”. Zane said.

They suddenly halted up in front of a small tea shop.

“were here” Zane said as he looked up at the board. it spelled “THE TEA SHOP”.

“wow nice name” charlotte said in an unimpressed tone.

“I know right” darken said while smiling.

Charlotte looked at him if he was joking. He wasn’t he was serious. They went inside and the bell on the door made a clinging sound. Charlotte could see a path in between with simple black and white marbles. On her right she could see two jut boxes in the middle. There was some slow melodic song on she didn’t know. On her left she could see a bunch of round tables with leather Charis around them. In front of her she could see an old man behind a desk. With a variety of powders and teas behind him. the man was very old. His eyes were shut and had plain white hair no beard. Wrinkles all over his face.

“welcome” he managed to utter the words.

“Oye there old man Jenkins” Zane said.

“we brought a guest today”

“oh my my what a beautiful young lady” the old man said as he slowly averted his gaze to charlotte.

“what can I serve you” he said.

“oh not now” darken said.

“first I want to show her the base”.

“well then I’ll be sure to send you something down there” Jenkins said.

“wait base, you have a base here?” charlotte said.

They went to the side of the desk where there was a door it led into the store room. They went further in front big food tray. Draken pulled one side of the stash but instead of falling over it went to the side. And behind it was metallic door. Draken put his hand on the hand authenticator and the door opened. And before charlottes eyes the secret revolution base was revealed.
