BLURB FOR THE ALPHA’S BLOOD MOON LUNA The prophecy said she was destined to be the most powerful Luna the East River region had ever seen. But Astra wakes up one morning in a stranger’s bed without any memories nor knowledge of herself or her past. And the stranger? A mysterious, bronze-skinned Adonis projecting cruelty and sensuality in equal measure. He’s Tristan, the mega rich C.E.O. of a successful tech company. With her wolf, Eris, as her only reliable ally, Astra sets about trying to recover her history and identity. But who can she trust? Certainly not Tristan, who treats her like his personalized s*x toy, nor his elderly maid, Harriet, whose kindness seems a little too good to be true. And there’s also that strange woman, Gretel, who reveals to Astra her name and tells her to go to the town of Springview. But what awaits Astra in Springview? A Luna and Alpha with terrible secrets linked to her past, and a maid called Roxanne who she strikingly resembles. There too is the promise of love with the suave but unpredictable Seth, and a fierce rivalry with the feisty Hazel awaiting. Is Seth with his smooth ways the one fated for her, or is it Tristan with his haunting aura of dark seduction? In a treacherous world where the lines frequently blur between truth and falsehood, and betrayal often disguises as loyalty, Astra must navigate the deep shadows of deception with caution and courage to not only uncover her past, but to also unveil the identity of her fated mate. And she cannot afford to fail. Her destiny and that of the East River region depends on it.

TWO: A DARK SECRET ASTRA
I follow his car down several streets and into the woods. It’s still dark but I don’t turn on my headlights so he won’t notice he’s being followed. I had no idea I could drive when I entered the car. Turns out I’m a pretty decent driver. That’s another small piece of the puzzle solved. I follow him down this winding dirt road until he slows down and pulls up next to a van. That’s strange… what’s a van doing out here in the woods? I park at a safe distance in the thick shadow of a grove of trees and watch the scene. The stranger emerges from his BMW to meet with a hooded man who’s standing next to the van. They stand there talking a long time. But at this distance I can’t hear a word they are saying. Dawn is breaking. If it gets light enough they might spot me. I’m growing tense. What if the stranger and the hooded man are drug dealers? They’d probably murder me if they discover I followed the stranger out here. Then two more men emerge from the van holding a blindfolded girl between them. The girl is sluggish and stumbling as though she has been drugged. My eyes widen in shock. The stranger opens his trunk, the two men lift the drugged girl and load her in, and he shuts it. I knew it! I knew there was something sinister about this guy! That must be money in the envelope he’s now handing to the hooded man. They shake hands and the hooded man and the other two men get in the van and drive off down the road. The stranger gets in his BMW, reverses, and drives back the way he came past where I’m hiding. I wait fifteen seconds, then I start tailing him again. But as he drives through an intersection, the red light stops me. By the time the lights go green, the stranger has vanished. Damn it! But there’s no time to stay disappointed. I have to get back to the house before he does so he won’t suspect a thing. Are you nuts? I tell myself. It will be really dumb to go back to the house of a man who, from what I just witnessed, is likely a kidnapper or human trafficker. What will he do to that poor girl? Should I call the police? If I do, what will I tell them and what evidence will I present to support my claim? What if it turns out I’m also part of his syndicate? Maybe I am, only I can’t remember. Oh, f**k! This whole thing is getting more mysterious and complicated by the minute! Take a deep breath, I tell myself. Breathe. I take several deep breaths. It helps. My frantic heartbeat slows down and I gradually stop trembling. I need a clear strategy on how to go about this. First, I’ll go back to the stranger’s house and prepare him breakfast as he requested. Since he isn’t aware I’m onto him, I’ll play along until I get to the bottom of this whole ridiculous and scary situation. Calmer now, I drive back to the house. To my horror, I find that he’s already home. s**t! This is so not good! Where will I say I went to? Then an excuse pops up in my head: I’ll say I went to get toiletries. Yes, toiletries! I’ll go with that. I take a deep breath as I prepare to enter the dining room. “Here goes,” I mutter under my breath and go in. The stranger’s cold green eyes are on me as I walk in and take a seat across from him. “Welcome back,” he says in a frosty voice. “Oh, um, thanks,” I mumble, lowering my eyes. “I’m sorry I didn’t fix breakfast. I went out to get a few toiletries.” A thin smile curls his lips. “Of course you did.” What was that smile for? Does he know I lied? But he only sips his coffee and says nothing more. The silence in the room is unnerving. Forcing my hand to keep steady, I reach for the coffee pot and pour myself a cup of steaming black coffee. “Karen,” the stranger says now. “Yes?” I cautiously look up. “There’s something off about you today.” My heart skips a beat. What has he noticed? “It’s almost like you’re someone else.” Silence falls over the room. “You’re just pulling my legs, right?” I say with a nervous laugh. “ My hands are shaking so bad that I spill coffee on my robe. “Oops!” I say, looking down at the stain. “I’ve got to scrub this out right away so it doesn’t set in the fabric.” I rise from my seat and hurry for the kitchen, relieved at the chance to escape the biting tension in the dining room. At the sink, I wet a towel and start scrubbing at the stain. Then I become conscious of the stranger standing right behind me. What does he want?! “Do you want to use the sin…” My voice trails off as he starts kissing my neck. He now opens my robe and slips it off my shoulders so that it flutters to the ground. Then he starts kissing butterflies down my bare back, the volume of my breathing rising as his lips and hot breath go lower and lower. I want to stop this. I’m resisting him in my head, but my traitorous body has long surrendered. He now uses his teeth to pull my panties down to my thighs. “Stick it out for daddy,” he commands in a sinful whisper. I obey, sticking my ass out with my forearms propped on the drainboard. A little moan escapes my lips as he takes a naughty bite of my left butt cheek. Then I gasp as his lips circle my throbbing c**t. His lips and tongue are doing things to me down there that are driving me wild. I’m moaning loudly and trembling uncontrollably. Tears of ecstasy fill my eyes and my breath quickens as I build towards an explosive climax. Then I suddenly see the face of the girl I’d seen blindfolded out in the woods. She’s standing on the other side of the kitchen window, staring in at me through the glass. She doesn’t have a blindfold on and I see fear in her widened brown eyes. And her lips are shaped like she wants to say something... like she wants to ask for help. As I open my mouth to speak to her, I scream instead with violent pleasure as I c*m hard. My upper body falls forward on the drainboard, and I lie there panting, completely spent. When I raise my head to look again through the window, the girl isn’t there anymore. I’m left wondering if what I’d seen was reality or just a figment of my imagination.
