Gabe POV
I'm standing next to one of our warriors, Evan, as we watch the ten wolves pace just outside the gate. The other three guys who came over here with us have shifted and spread out, so we have the entire length between the North and East gates covered. Evan is acting as my second in command for the time being, as he's the most experienced of the group and best fighter in human form.
I decided the two of us stay as humans for now. It makes things easier that way.
"Do you have any idea what they're doing, Gamma?" Evan asks me. He's completely calm, seemingly unphased by everything happening. Which is the other reason I chose him to be my temporary second in command. He can stay calm and think rationally no matter the situation.
