Chapter Five
WES
When Zeke comes back with Nathan, they both climb into bed with me, pulling me between them. I don’t want to lose them, I really don’t want to lose them. Today made me realise that I really can’t give up on them. I really can’t. I want to be at their side, forever.
“Wes.” Nathan’s voice is soft. “Are you okay?”
I nod. “I will be… I just need to rest for a bit.” Breaking down like that costs a lot of energy, so I need to recover from that before I even think about doing something else.
“That’s okay.” His hand trails over me, then finding my hand and weaving his fingers through mine. “I’ll be here. No matter what. I’ll be here for you.”
I nod again, feeling safe. I know that he will. I know that he won’t leave.
