THE CEO OF THE COUNTRY GIRL
Writed by Omahcbeauty BOOK TITLE: The Country Girl's Billionaire Husband CHAPTER 1: The CEO Who Couldn't Find A Wife The entire city knew his name. Kang Joo-won. 28 years old. CEO of Kang Group. Worth hundreds of billions of won. Face like a K-drama male lead, cold, sharp, perfect. But nobody wanted to marry him. Not because he was ugly. Not because he was poor. Because of his legs. One year ago, a car accident took away his ability to walk. Now he lived in a custom-made wheelchair, pushed by two black-suited bodyguards wherever he went. Inside the Kang mansion — a traditional Korean palace so big it had its own lake — his grandmother was shouting. "How many blind dates did I arrange? 30! 30 women! And not ONE agreed to marry you!" Joo-won sat on his bed in his pajamas, expressionless. A maid beside him was brushing his teeth for him, treating him like a child. He hated it, but grandmother ordered it. "At this rate, the Kang family line will end with you! You think I will let that happen?" She waved her hand. "Take him out!" The two bodyguards didn't hesitate. They lifted the entire bed — with Joo-won still lying on it, blanket on him, toothbrush still in his mouth — and carried him straight out of the mansion gates. They dumped the bed outside on the road, in front of everyone. Cars passing, people staring and taking videos. His phone rang. Video call from Grandmother. Her face filled the screen, angry, disappointed. "Listen to me, Joo-won! If you don't find a wife and bring her home today, don't you ever step foot in this house again! I will send you to a dating show! I will put your face on the matchmaking board at the village entrance! I mean it!" Then she hung up. Joo-won closed his eyes. The sun was too bright. The shame was too heavy. His assistant, Min-ho, ran over sweating. "CEO! CEO, I have an idea! Let's rent one! I can find a professional girlfriend for $10,000! We just need to trick old madam for one day!" Joo-won didn't answer. He was tired. Min-ho was already on the phone: "Hello? Yes, send the best actress now! $10,000! Must be beautiful, must know how to act filial!" But just as Joo-won tried to answer grandmother's call again, his hands slipped. The bed was on a slope. It started to move. Slow at first, then faster and faster, sliding down the hill. "CEO!!!" Min-ho screamed and chased. The two bodyguards chased too. But the bed was too fast. It was heading straight for the main road where cars were coming. Joo-won couldn't move his legs. He gripped the blanket tightly. For the first time in a year, his cold face showed fear. And at that exact moment, a girl in a faded blue denim shirt, big black glasses, two long braids, carrying a heavy basket of eggs on her arm, was walking up the same hill. Her name was Soo-yeon. She had just come from the countryside. Her shoes were dirty. Her basket had 50 fresh eggs she had saved for months, wanting to sell them in the city to buy a ring to propose to her boyfriend. She heard the shouting. She looked up and saw a bed with a man on it rolling towards her. Without thinking, she dropped her basket — carefully, so eggs wouldn't break — and ran. She grabbed the bed frame with both hands and pulled with all her strength. The bed stopped, just one meter before the road. Everyone stopped breathing. Joo-won looked up, panting. His eyes met hers. She was sweating, glasses crooked, braid loose, but her eyes were fierce and worried. "Are you crazy?!" she shouted at him, but it was concern, not anger. "You could have died!" Before he could say thank you, another person came crashing. Min-ho, the assistant, who was running too fast to stop, bumped straight into Soo-yeon from behind. Soo-yeon lost balance. She fell forward — right onto Joo-won. And her lips landed directly on his. Time stopped. The two bodyguards: eyes wide open. Min-ho: mouth wide open. Soo-yeon's eyes: about to pop out of her glasses. Joo-won's eyes: blank. Because that was his first kiss. In 28 years. Stolen by a country girl who smelled like farm eggs and sunshine.
