Third Person P. O. V
"Samantha, come on! We're going to miss our flight," Tatsuya urged his wife, Samantha, as they rushed through the airport. He was doing the running-walking, while Samantha struggled to keep up, her five-month pregnant belly making it difficult to move quickly.
Samantha couldn't help but feel a slight, sudden pain. She was carrying twins, for goodness sake! Her belly was huge, and yet Tatsuya seemed unmindful to her struggle. Sometimes, she wondered if she had married the right man. But then she'd remember the early days of their relationship, when he was so gentle, caring, and truly in love with her. Has he changed over the years?
She pushed away the doubts and anxieties, focusing on staying healthy for her babies. She would deal with her feelings later. As soon as they arrived at the airport, they boarded the plane just in time. They were seated in first class, which was expected given Tatsuya's status as a wealthy Japanese businessman.
Their flight to the Philippines was to visit samantha's mother. They planned to stay for at least a month, waiting until after she gave birth before returning to Japan.
Samantha, five months pregnant with twins, shifted uncomfortably in her seat. The familiar aches in her lower back and the pressure on her bladder made even the spacious first-class seat feel cramped. The nausea that had bothered her all morning threatened to return.
As the flight went on, Samantha, exhausted from carrying twins and traveling, finally fell asleep. Once, Tatsuya was sure she was asleep, he quietly went to business class to meet his mistress-something Samantha had no idea about.
"Tatsuya, why are you here? what about samantha? what if she sees us and finds out? " Amber whispered as Tatsuya sat down beside her.
Amber was with her one-year-old son from another man, not Tatsuya's child. They had planned to meet in the Philippines and elope once the situation with Samantha was settled. Amber has a business in the Philippines, and one of the reasons she went there was to visit a branch of her well-known products.
Despite not being the boy's biological father, Tatsuya was fond of him. He preferred his relationship with Amber, even though she was technically his mistress-there's something special about her that drew him in.
"It's okay. She fell asleep from exhaustion. How are you? How's Jared? " He whispered back, answering Amber's question while glancing at Jared, who was eating in the corner.
"Why are we whispering, though? " Amber asked as she playfully smacked Tatsuya's shoulder, "He's fine. He's eating the fruits he likes. " She added.
"I don't know. " Tatsuya replied, playing along with Amber's mischievousness. Then, he leaned in and gave her a quick peck on the lips.
He truly enjoyed Amber's company more than Samantha's-he had lost interest in her. They continued whispering to each other until Tatsuya decided it was time to leave. Samantha would wake up soon, and she would notice his absence if he stayed any longer.
SAMANTHA began to wake up and rubbed her eyes. As her vision cleared, she noticed that her husband was not there. Just as she started to wonder where he had gone, Tatsuya suddenly appeared, as if nothing had happened.
"Where have you been, honey?" Samantha asked with a suspicious look.
"Ahh, I went to the toilet and then remembered your favorite snack, so I bought this," Tatsuya replied calmly, maintaining his composure to avoid raising Samantha's suspicions. Then, he showed her the snack, which was indeed her favorite.
“Oh, really? Thanks anyway,” Samantha replied to Tatsuya in a tone that didn’t sound very happy, even though it was her favorite snack—bread filled with creamy cheese. Maybe it was because of her pregnancy that her mood changed so easily.
Tatsuya gave her a small smile, but it wasn’t sincere. He handed her the snack and helped her sit up so she could eat. He took care of Samantha, even though, deep down, he was starting to grow tired of it. But he had to keep up the act so she wouldn’t suspect anything.
AFTER an hour of flight, they finally arrived in the Philippines. Once the airplane landed, the staff announced a safety reminder for passengers before they could step out. Because of the large crowd exiting the plane, Samantha had a hard time moving, so she walked carefully to avoid bumping her belly. Tatsuya followed closely behind her, carrying their only hand-carry bag.
As soon as they stepped out of the plane, Tatsuya discreetly searched for Amber with his eyes, careful not to let Samantha notice. When he finally spotted his mistress at a slight distance on the other side, he smiled at her—but only for a moment.
"Honey? Why are you smiling? Did you see someone you know?" Samantha asked, turning her head just in time to catch Tatsuya smiling while looking into the distance. However, Amber had already walked away, so Samantha didn’t see that she was the one he had been smiling at.
Tatsuya panicked and fell silent, unable to answer properly. He worried that Samantha might have seen Amber and figured things out.
"Honey? Are you okay? You look a bit pale," Samantha asked, snapping her fingers in front of Tatsuya’s face to catch his attention. Her voice pulled him back to reality, and he quickly calmed himself before responding.
"Ahhh. Yes, honey, I’m fine. Maybe I just felt a little too warm. About the smile—it’s because I saw a child happily playing with his father, and I imagined that’s how our bonding time with our children would be in the future," Tatsuya lied, forcing a weak smile.
Samantha smiled, touched by his words. Though she found it odd that he mentioned feeling hot, she brushed it off.
The weather in the Philippines wasn’t that warm at the moment, and Tatsuya could usually tolerate heat well, so Samantha couldn’t help but feel curious. However, his words distracted her, and she let the thought go.
By the time they reached the airport entrance, the family driver of samantha's family had already been waiting for them. Samantha’s family-Reyes family, was also wealthy and well-known in the Philippines.
Her father had passed away, leaving only her mother and four siblings. Even though her siblings had families of their own, they still lived close to their mother. The family owned a large estate that resembled a private village, with each sibling having their own house while their mother stayed in the main house. The property was exclusive to their family.
"Ma'am Samantha, welcome back to the Philippines." Luis greeted them with a smile. He had been the Reyes family's driver for seven years. At 35 years old, he had served the family diligently, never once breaking the trust they had given him.
Samantha smiled back at Luis, happy to see him again. She and Tatsuya got into the car, and Luis started driving. During the ride, Tatsuya kept glancing at his phone, something Samantha couldn't help but notice.
"What's wrong, honey? Is there a problem with the company?" she asked right away. Knowing Tatsuya, she assumed it was work-related since he was always busy with business matters. Even at home, he constantly received calls from employees or his secretary.
"No, hon, it's nothing serious. My secretary just texted me about a small issue, but it was resolved quickly." Tatsuya said as an excuse. While it was true, another reason he kept checking his phone was because of a message from his mistress.
"Okay, that’s good to hear that it was resolved quickly." Samantha said with a smile. Tatsuya simply smiled back at her.
Soon, they arrived at the private village owned by Samantha’s family. The massive gate automatically opened, allowing them to enter. A long driveway led to the main mansion, where Samantha’s mother lived. The surroundings were beautiful, filled with many trees and flowers, creating a peaceful environment.
Samantha couldn’t help but smile as memories from her childhood came rushing back.
"Finally, we're here," Samantha said with a smile.
After four months of staying in the Philippines, chaos erupted in the household when Samantha went into labor. It was October 5—the day their twins would be born.
She was immediately taken to the hospital. Given their family's wealth, there was no need to wait. They had a special appointment at one of the most prestigious, expensive, and highly professional hospitals.
Samantha safely delivered their twin babies—a girl and a boy. Despite having a mistress, Tatsuya felt sincere happiness when he saw his children for the first time. However, he found himself more drawn to their son. They named their daughter Izumi Quinn and their son Itsuki Kai, both carrying Tatsuya’s surname, Yoshida.
A week passed, and both Samantha and Tatsuya became fully occupied with taking care of their newborns. Raising twins was challenging at first, but over time, they adjusted. They attended various events and important matters while bringing their children along.
However, Tatsuya still found time to secretly meet his mistress.
Until one day—an unexpected moment changed everything.During an event, something Tatsuya never anticipated happened. Amber was one of the hosts, and fate played a cruel trick on him. Samantha caught him and Amber kissed.
The pain was unbearable for Samantha. Her mother and siblings were furious at Tatsuya, their anger reaching its peak. This led Samantha to file for divorce. But things became more complicated when Tatsuya decided to fight for custody—specifically for their son. He was determined to take Itsuki with him.
Despite Samantha’s efforts and the support of her family, Tatsuya won the right to raise their son. Their twins were separated—Izumi stayed with Samantha, while Itsuki was taken by Tatsuya.
