Chapter Seventeen Annie was reading the paper Diane had left when she heard a vehicle pull up. A car door shut, followed by the sound of another vehicle. She started to get up, glad she’d decided to climb out of bed and get dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a turtleneck when she hadn’t been able to go back to sleep. The front door opened.
