CHAPTER 7:Happy Birthday

As the first week drew to a close, Mia and Leo huddled together with excited whispers, their expressions animated with anticipation. I watched them curiously, wondering what plans they were concocting behind closed doors.

"Jade, we need to talk," Mia declared, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she pulled me aside.

"What's going on?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity.

Leo grinned. "We've been planning something special for your birthday."

My heart skipped a beat at the mention of my impending birthday. "Really? What is it? I don't really like birthdays"

Mia exchanged a knowing glance with Leo before answering, "It's a surprise. But trust us, you're going to love it. Just open your mind. we are friends right?"

of course I thought of them as friends but ever since high school birthdays always turn out to be a let down. not having friends and all " Ok I'll be open minded. I'm ready" I said pushing it to the back of my mind. they say it's a surprise so I won't push them for more info.

As the days passed, anticipation for my birthday trip mounted. Mia and Leo seemed more excited than ever, their secretive exchanges fueling my curiosity. In class, our lessons took a fascinating turn as we delved into the intricacies of dragon mates—how rare and cherished the bond was, and the challenges dragons faced in finding their destined partner.

"it says here some don't ever find their mates, or some choose to claim other mates. " " The Sun Goddess gives us all destined mates we can either find them in this lifetime or the next but destiny is destiny" Leo said before closing his book.

"Do you think all 3 of us will find our mates?" I ask them turning around in my chair. " I never really thought about finding a mate" Mia said flipping through the pages of her book never looking up. "well I'm just learning dragons even have mates so I guess I'm with you on that" I said playfully. which seemed to upset Leo. "Please ladies mates are a serious thing. I'll wait for my mate even if I have to wait 500 years. I'll never give myself to anyone else," Leo said with such confidence it made me really think about what I actually wanted.

I'm a princess who just learned about mates. and just learned about dragons a lil while ago. heck I'm still a Virgin who don't know one thing about anything and I'm pretty sure I have a crush on someone who's out of my league. why would the Sun Goddess bless me in this lifetime with a mate. I thought to myself

Two days later, Mia and Leo blindfolded me, leading me to a truck. they told me to pack but didn't say anything specific. " ok guys don't you think it's time for me to take this thing off my face" I say taking a peak." No now stop cheating" Mia said popping my hand. After what felt like 3 hours of driving which was only 45 mins. we came to a stop. Leo held my hand helping me out of the car and taking some steps forward. When the blindfold was finally removed, I found myself standing in front of a quaint cabin nestled by the beach.

"It's yours for the weekend," Mia announced, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

My heart swelled with gratitude as I took in the breathtaking surroundings. The sound of waves crashing against the shore filled the air, and a warm breeze caressed my skin. This was the perfect setting for a birthday celebration, and I couldn't wait to explore every inch of it.

As the evening unfolded, we laughed, danced, and shared stories around a crackling bonfire. The moon cast a soft glow over us, illuminating the night with a sense of magic and wonder. Amidst the laughter and camaraderie, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me—a feeling of being surrounded by love and warmth.

Later that night, as I drifted off to sleep in the cozy confines of the cabin, a vivid dream enveloped me, transporting me to a realm of intense desire and longing. In the dream, I found myself standing in a vast expanse of darkness, the air thick with anticipation.

Suddenly, Kai appeared before me, his presence commanding and intoxicating. The intensity of his gaze sent shivers down my spine as he drew closer, "Come here babydoll, I need to feel you" I did as I was told his touch igniting a fire within me that threatened to consume every fiber of my being.

His hands roamed my body with an urgency that matched the wild beating of my heart. Every touch, every caress sent waves of pleasure coursing through me, awakening a hunger I never knew existed.

In the dream, time seemed to stand still as we surrendered to the raw, primal desire that pulsed between us. Our bodies moved in perfect harmony, each movement a symphony of passion and ecstasy.

As the dream reached its climax, I felt a surge of heat explode within me, engulfing me in a whirlwind of sensation that left me breathless and wanting more.

When I awoke, my body was drenched in sweat, my heart racing with the remnants of the intense dream. A flush of embarrassment washed over me as I realized the depth of my desires, the longing for Kai that lingered in the recesses of my mind.

Gathering my thoughts, I stepped outside into the cool night air, the sound of the ocean providing a soothing backdrop to my turbulent emotions. In that moment, amidst the tranquility of the night, I knew I wanted Kai more than I let off

At this point it's 3:33 am I know Leo and Mia are fast asleep. my official birthday is in a few hours I think to myself. I walk closer to the shoreline before I hear someone call my name. To my shock it was Kai. "I'm on guard duty tonight Alex had something he had to handle by morning" He spoke with a deep stern voice. " ok I was just getting some fresh air, I'll head back in." turning to leave "bad or good?" Kai says "excuse me?" I turn back and say " was the dream a good dream or a bad dream" Kai ask "well I guess you could say a mixture of both" I said turning picking up the pace to get back in the cabin. my heart was beating so fast I thought I was going to croak. Trying to slow my breathing.

I finally calmed down enough and my body was relaxed. I just laid face down on the bed trying to think of rainbows and kittens until I feel asleep. I cannot have another dream like that tonight my body can't handle it.

"Happy Birthday Happy Birthday" Mia and Leo are screaming while jumping on my bed. it's currently 9:27 on the dot. the exact time it says on my birth certificate. I think I have the best friends a girl could ask for. I think before I throw a pillow at them. We started off my bday with a pillow fight.
