CHAPTER 17: Push

Find me Jade.... Come find me.....Jade come find me.
Jumping out of my sleep, I look around the room. Everyone is asleep. Who's voice was that in my head. A voice I've never heard before.
I check the clock it's a quarter til 5. So I head to the shower. The girls who go to training will be getting up soon. Im usually the last girl up but yesterday made me want this s**t more than ever. I can't let my mom down.
I turn the heat to the hottest setting and I stand there. letting the water run through my curls, over my breast down to my feet. I don't know how long I stood there but I started to hear alarms go off. I decide to hurry and actually shower and lather my body. As I'm leaving out the girls started to come in.
It's 5 of us per room. I don't really talk to the girls because of my social anxiety and all but they seem cool. We usually just exchange Good mornings and nights. Which I don't mind, it beats the girls back home.
Mia's room is right across and she's always here with me so I don't feel alone. Our rooms are identical. We all have Queen Sized bed's, a dresser, and a closet of our own. The bathrooms are shared but we still all get our own Showers. I have no complaints.
After getting dressed Mia walks in. "Jade" she says with shock on her face. as fast as it came it was gone. "Yeah girl let's go" she's clearly happy I'm committed to training. She grabs my water bottle and we head to the field.
As we arrive Max runs up to us. We still have 10 mins before practice starts. "Hey Jade, I came to check on you yesterday are you feeling better?" he ask while rubbing his head. using his shirt to rise up just a bit to see his v-line.
"Hey Max, thanks yeah I'm feeling much better now is here something you needed?" I asked
"Well, I wanted to know if you'd like to go off campus to grab a bite to eat with me later for lunch?"
He sure is handsome.
"yeah sure who else did you invite?"
"oh well... just you." he says
"oh ok well yeah I don't mind going for lunch, hey Mia do you want to come too?" I ask her
"oh I can't Jay I have to do some extra work during lunch time, you go and enjoy yourself" she says while finishing her stretches.
"Ok well Max I'll see you later then" I say finding up my stretches as well
"ok cool see ya later Jade" he says heading back to his group of boys
We both finish up stretching. everyone is here now so we start our morning Run.
"Hey Mia why didn't Max invite anyone else to lunch?" I ask pacing myself
"Because Jade he likes you, isn't it obvious" she says
"what?, but I like Kai!" I say shocked that anyone would be interested in me in the slightest
"And that's ok Jay but Kai isn't acting interested so why not give max a chance you know? she says
"well You're right I guess lunch can't hurt, but I've never been on a real date with anyone before." I say trying to catch up a bit
Well there was this guy back in elementary school who i had the biggest crush on but it didn't go as I hoped
oh well I'm an adult now so it's bout time I act like one.
I do have this new found confidence and I want to use it now while I can I think to myself.
I guess I was too lost in my thoughts everyone is way ahead of me. I did say I'd push myself so I take off.
I go my fastest speed. Before my bullying days I used to race boys all the time and I would smoke them.
I come around the second turn and I pass Mia. "WOAH girl slow down before you burn fast." she said yelling at me but I tone her out. I need to focus.
While we are magical creatures before we transform we're just Average humans with a minor amp in things like endurance, stamina, and strength.
Once we transform our soul, mind, and body gets completely stronger. We even gain abilities, some common, most unique.
We all can breathe fire, but some can breathe and bend other elements. We all heal but some can regenerate body parts and such.
I've been wondering to myself what abilities I'll have, especially since I'm royalty.
There are dragons who are just regular citizens, warriors, and some parts of the royal court like dukes, barons, princesses, Queens etc.
All of this information I've been learning while taking these classes. According to the history books 18 years ago there was a coup to overthrow the throne. It was unsuccessful but my parents never went back to keep me safe.
My mom told me they would have kept trying to kill them if they started and would have also killed me.
While they haven't been there they left someone they could trust to keep the kingdom running smoothly.
I guess there had to be some secret meetings. Honestly thinking of all of it makes me angry.
Why didn't my mother tell me this stuff way sooner. Could she not trust me to keep the secret.
All I know is whoever is after me will BURN!
And I'll run my kingdom justly and peacefully.
As I cross the finish line 1 last time for the day i lay on the ground trying to control my breathing.
Not to long after everyone came running up to me.
"Damn girl you did those laps quick"
"Yeah when did you get so fast"
"I guess little miss nobody got something going for herself. "
We all looked back.
It was Seth with his sister Anabelle. they were laughing
"What the f**k Seth" Mia says pushing him hard.
"What? she is a nobody. a few weeks ago she used to dress like a depressed hobo." he says laughing even louder
"Don't let this "transformation" fool you" he says before walking off
"Yeah little miss nobody is still a weak pathetic child Anabelle says before following after her brother while laughing.
I thought I had escaped the mean girls in high school but I guess not.
I put my hood on and head towards a bench to sit for a while.
"It's ok Jade don't listen to twiddle D and twiddle dumb." Mia comes over and says sitting down
They're just mad you're faster than they are. Haters don't win in life, trust me." with a pat on the back
Conrad ends break time and we move on.
We finish up training. 1on1 sparring followed by sword wielding, and archery.
We do have a gun range we can practice at but it's only for advanced memebers. Having specialized guns are on a level of it's own. Usually reserved for members of the royal guard.
Everyone's objective is to level up. it's something about the guns that make people want to work harder.
They can kill any magical creatures from the poison alone, not to mention the bullet themselves stops healing and have spikes in it so it can not be taken out easily.
I'm going to reach the top level for sure. I won't let the haters get to me this time. I'm going keep my head low but push myself in secret. Maybe Alex and Kai won't mind training me alone.
