CHAPTER 9: Celebrations

I've been pacing my room for almost 5 hours before I decided to leave at 8am to make sure I got Jade something for her birthday.
" Hello, how soon can you get a pink Jeep?"
" All I need is a hour or two and it's done" Alex says on the other end.
I rush to every store I can find looking for the right gift. I stop at a 6th jewelry store at this point I'm getting irritated.
" How can I help you sir" A lady wearing a dress suit walks up to me and says. I can see her looking at me with desire in her eyes but I ignore it. " Do you have any dragon necklaces" trying to keep my voice deep and serious. " Oh yes we do" she turns and go into a back room, taking her lovely time. She comes back out with a jewelry case holder. As I go over all the necklaces I see one that catches my eye the most. It was an emerald dragon with a rainbow sun behind it. "I'll take that one" the lady looks down at where I'm pointing. " Oh sir that necklace may be too expensive for you sir" turning to face her " I think I'll be the one to tell you what's too expensive or not" " and honestly nothing in this store is too expensive."
I'll buy this entire store if I need to - saying to myself. "Ok follow me sir, the total will be $21,980" she says with a smug look after ringing it up at the register. I just handed her my card. which clearly surprised her. "Oh sir I apologize I didn't know you were a Black member" I wasted enough time even talking to this woman in the first place. "Now why would that make any difference?" "Actually my friend owns this store, maybe I'll let them know they need new management" taking my card from her hand and leaving without another word.
Grabbing the little jewelery bag I run in a couple more stores before I make my way back to the beach house
bzzt bzzt bzzt...Phone ringing in my pocket
"Hey So she loved the Jeep, when I told her it was your idea I could have sworn I seen her blush" Alex saying on the other line of the phone
"Oh" hanging up before he can question anything
My baby doll blushing for me. Just thinking about it makes my c**k twitch. I'd love to make her ass as red as her cheeks. But of course when the time is right. If there will ever be a right time. I'm her bodyguard I don't want to cause any trouble.
With the presents carefully tucked away in a small bag, I made my way back to the beach house, anticipation building with each step. As I entered the warmth and laughter of the celebration inside, my eyes sought out Jade, her presence filling the room with a radiant energy that left me breathless.
Approaching her, I presented the gifts with a smile, my heart racing with nervous excitement. "Happy birthday, Jade," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.
Her eyes lit up with surprise and delight as she accepted the gifts, her gratitude evident in the warmth of her smile. "Thank you, Kai. This means so much to me," she said, her voice tinged with emotion.
As the evening unfolded, we gathered around the crackling fire, the warmth of the flames casting a soft glow over us. I couldn't tear my gaze away from Jade, the flickering light illuminating her features in a way that left me spellbound.
Lost in the depths of her eyes, I felt a hunger stir within me—a primal longing that threatened to consume every fiber of my being. I wanted her with a fierceness that bordered on obsession, a hunger that pulsed through me with each beat of my heart.
She noticed, of course she did. I could see the flicker of awareness in her emerald eyes, a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken desires that simmered between us. And yet, she said nothing, her gaze meeting mine with a mixture of curiosity and restraint.
As the conversation turned to childhood memories, a wave of anger washed over me as I listened to Jade recount tales of bullying and cruelty. How could anyone treat her with anything less than reverence and adoration? The mere thought of someone causing her pain ignited a fire within me, a fierce protectiveness that burned with a white-hot intensity.
But I kept my emotions in check, masking my anger behind a facade of calm indifference. I couldn't risk letting my true feelings show—not now, not when the fragile balance of our friendship hung in the balance.
And so, I sat by the fire, my gaze fixed on Jade as if she were the only person in the world, each flicker of the flames reflecting the hunger and desire that raged within me. Tonight, as we celebrated her birthday, I vowed to protect her with every fiber of my being, and to cherish her as the precious gift she truly was.
I needed her to be my mate. We wouldn't know until she got her mother flame. And I honestly can't take it any longer. The way I feel about her and in such a short time is driving me Insane. there's no doubt she's my mate but how long will the Sun Goddess hold me shackled down I don't know.
"I'll be turning in, I hope you love your gifts Jade" I said sending her a quick wink before turning to everyone else and saying my good night's.
A shower is what I need thinking to myself. stripping I turn and look at my reflection in the tall wall mirror beside the bathroom. My birth mark has always been a problem for me. It goes from my belly button all the way down my left leg to my calf. I asked my mother about it when I was young but all she would say was "it's how I was born" but I always felt it was something deeper.
Turning on the heat as hot as the water can go. I find myself thinking about Jade again. what would she think about my mark. I've always been ashamed of it since I started dating girls and they would stare making me self conscious.
"Hey you in here?" I hear Alex knocking. snapping me out of my thoughts I realized the water has gone cold. " Yeah be out in 2"
I have on sweats and black tee. " Wassup"
sitting on the edge of the bed. "Just need to go over changes. I put a tracking device in the Jeep."
"Ok great just send all the necessary things to my phone"
"Oh and another thing. Not only is she Queen but she's Queen Mother" Alex says.
"WHAT" I scream knocking the damn lamp from off the side table.
