Getting rotten from the warmth
In the heart of Elysium lay the prosperous Kingdom of Astrum, where tradition and faith were interwoven into its very essence. Towering citadels with spires that touched the heavens adorned the landscape, their stones echoing the tales of bygone eras. Guided by a centuries-old code of honor, the people of Astrum found purpose in ancient customs and rituals. However, the kingdom's fate took an unexpected turn with the arrival of a new queen, a figure both enigmatic and charismatic, with a face that captivates all who gaze upon it. Her regal face, garnished with an air of arrogance and vanity, conceals the unpredictability that lies beneath the surface. Although Valeria was wise and compassionate, the dichotomy between the queen's progressive vision and the ingrained expectations of her subjects created a growing rift within Astrum. Despite Valeria’s tireless efforts to make the kingdom thrive, she found herself increasingly estranged from the very people she aspired to serve. The church whispered against her, labeling her beliefs as sacrilegious, and the aristocracy questioned her judgments at every turn. One day, a barren neighboring kingdom, with desolate lands and suffering inhabitants, asked for help. Their sovereign had recently died, leaving the throne to a naive heir. In a surprising turn of events, they send a messenger to Valeria, asking her to take over the throne and bring life to their desolate lands. Feeling the weight of isolation in her own kingdom, Valeria saw an opportunity for a new beginning. She reluctantly accepted the offer and traveled to the barren kingdom, ready to face new challenges. Driven by an insatiable desire to show her ego, Queen Valeria set off on a journey to demonstrate the true potential of her reign. A sovereign whose movements are shrouded in mystery and whose whims are as unpredictable as the shifting winds. Her charisma has become a weapon as she has rallied the inhabitants of the arid kingdom to her cause. Her unpredictable nature has kept allies and enemies alike on their toes, unsure of what grand scheme or daring plan she will unveil next. Yet in a moment of exhaustion and frustration, Valeria decided to leave the fate of the kingdom at stake. She disbanded her advisors and publicly denied the divinity of the gods that the people held dear. This bold move shocked the citizens and sparked controversy. In the end, the people of the barren kingdom started to see the potential for change. Without the constraints of tradition and dogma, they began to work together to transform their once desolate kingdom into a place of newfound growth and prosperity. As the barren kingdom began to flourish under her rule, Queen Valeria revealed the satisfaction of turning desolation into prosperity. The barren throne, once a symbol of desolation, is transformed into a canvas for Valeria's ambitions. Her reign, although unconventional, became a tale of independence and stability. She chose to deny the expectations imposed by society and the gods, finding her own way through the uncertainty of chance. But unfortunately, this story finally reached the ears of the jester. In the realm of Elysium, a jester named Maximilian roams the kingdoms, bringing joy and amusement through his comedic skills. However, he hides a distaste for the royal system and the stupidity of society. In the Kingdom of Veridia, the Queen is impressed by Maximilian's intellect, but during a performance, his jokes question the authority of the crown, causing the Queen to ponder the deeper meanings of these jokes. Then, entering the Kingdom of Celestria, the jester is welcomed with open arms by the King, who is oblivious to the fact that his jokes expose the flaws of the monarchical system. But through humor, Maximilian succeeds in sowing doubt in the minds of the king and his court, encouraging them to question their entire monarchical system. As stories of the new monarch and the blossoming of his kingdom spread like the wind, this jester, with his keen ear for stories and social commentary, was intrigued. Maximilian, shod in his colorful shoes, decided to bring his "show" to the kingdom of Astrum. Eventually, Valeria learned about this sharp-eyed jester, who not only brought laughter but also provoked thought. On one of the royal evenings, Queen Valeria invited Maximilian to give her a private performance. Amid laughter and clever repartee, bitter truths were brought to the surface. During his performances, Maximilian felt the tense vibe of the court, and his clever glances caught not only the laughter but the serious reflections of those around him. His every jest was a subtle challenge to the royal system, and the jester succeeded in bringing out the shortcomings and contradictions in Valeria's kingdom. Enchanted by the satire and unconventional wisdom of the jester Maximilian, Queen Valeria found a unique and priceless advisor in him. Bewitched by the unique perspective that Maximilian brought to the court, Valeria invited him not just for entertainment but for genuine counsel. As Valeria spent more time at the sight of the intriguing jester, not only did he become an unexpectedly good counselor, but a surprising and deep connection blossomed between them. The queen, captivated by Maximilian's charisma and the unconventional charm that set him apart from the courtiers, found herself falling for the jester. Maximilian despises the monarchy and the perceived foolishness of societal conventions. He uses his mocking behavior towards the royal family as a source of entertainment for the masses. His boldness in challenging the aristocracy's status has made him popular among those who yearn for a glimpse beyond the façade of royalty. Maximilian was initially drawn to the queen with the intention of mocking the royal family, but his perspective changed as he witnessed Valeria's genuine attempts to find hope in the world. During quiet moments, he glimpsed the vulnerability beneath her regal facade, causing his playful facade to crumble. Despite being torn between his initial intentions and the growing connection with Valeria, Maximilian decides to abandon his mocking ways. As a final act, he vanished from the kingdom, leaving behind only the memory of his playful laughter and the mystery of a fool who chose to walk away from the royal spectacle. Queen Valeria sat alone in the silent throne room, the echoes of Jester's laughter and the vibrant chaos he brought still lingering in her memory. The once-living space had returned to a dull grayness, void of the spontaneous emotions the Jester had effortlessly stirred. As she gazed at the empty stairs where the Jester had once entertained the fools, the throne that symbolized power and authority felt heavier without his voice. The room, devoid of the echoes of waves of laughter like other days, seemed to reflect the somber gloom that had settled upon the kingdom. The Jester's cryptic words echoed in her mind: "People get rotten when you give them warmth." Valeria pondered the meaning of those words, feeling a chill run down her spine. Sitting on the throne, Valeria felt a profound sense of isolation. The Jester, though unpredictable and at times infuriating, had brought life to her court and challenged the stagnant atmosphere of the kingdom. Now, in his absence, she confronted the question he had left lingering in the air. "Which one of us is rotten?" she whispered to the empty room. Was it the Jester or was it she, sitting on the throne, isolated by the choices she had made? In the absence of the Jester's presence, Queen Valeria was left to confront the true nature of her rule and the kingdom she sought to rebuild. The room remained silent, waiting for an answer that seemed elusive in the gray lull of the post-Jester days.
