Episode 3 - Truth Revealed

IDRIS

“What is happening?” A lady cop asked us. Jack pulled back, “Is he bothering you?” She asks.

“It’s nothing big. We were just talking.” Jack says annoyed. 

I turned to blink my eyes fast to escape from my tears, “Do you know him?” the cop asks. I know him for my entire lifetime, Or at least that’s what I believed. 

“No” I blurt out, Jack was startled by my response. 

“Mister, I advise you to leave her alone.” the cop says.

But Jack didn’t hear her, He took my hand, “You are not serious.” He says.

I glared at him, but he didn't leave my hand, “It’s better if you let her go.” the cop says.

“She is my girlfriend, she is a little mad at me,” Jack says, still holding my hand and his eyes on me.

I took my hands from him, ‘“I don’t know him, Not anymore. ” I say walk away from him. I heard him calling my name and cop arresting him, saying he had to keep his mouth shut. I walked 20 yards away from him, I turned to see the cop walking with him, handcuffed. I ran to them, “I’m sorry, I know him. It’s just…” I pause. Jack seems a little relieved. 

“He was troubling you,” the cop reminds me. 

I open my mouth to say something, I’m mad at him. I can’t forgive him but I don’t want him to be arrested because of me. “He wasn’t. We argued.” I defend him. 

The cop exchanged a look between me and Jack before she uncuffs him. As soon as the cop left, Jack looks at me, “I saved you because I don’t want our family to worry about you,” I say.

He nods, but not believing it, “Can we please talk? Ask me anything, I will answer honestly.” He suggests. 

When I didn’t say anything and walked to Jess home, “Please, I’m begging you. You are not just mad at me because of Ginny, There is something else.” He says. I hate Ginny from now on. 

I sigh, “I don’t think I can believe anything from you anymore.”

He stopped walking with me, I continued until I reached Jess' house, “What do you want me to do?” He asks. What do I want him to do?  

“You don’t have to do anything. You can live your life however you want.” I say without tears in my eyes. 

“I want my life with you,” He says instantly. 

I sighed and sat on the couch, “I can’t take your lies anymore. I’m done with it, Jack” I say. 

He sat next to me, facing me, “I didn’t lie. Can you please tell me what is making you think I’m lying?”

I turned to face him, “I talked to Jessica, She said whatever you told is a lie. She was your first. I didn’t care about your first or second or last. But I don’t want to be fooled, I don’t want you to lie to me.”  I say He listens patiently. 

“That’s it?” He asks like it doesn’t matter at all.

I shook my head, “No” I say. He leans in to listen, “I know about Brit’s sister.” I say He knit his eyebrows, “Who? Which Brit’s sister?” He asks. It infuriates me that he had a lot of girlfriends that he doesn’t even remember their names. 

“The one who you made pregnant,” I said coldly. 

I expect him to burst out or tell something but he stays silent, “Then?” He asks. The picture Sophia showed me was a fake so I don’t want to mention it to him. 

He takes a long breath, he rubs his temple, “I never had been with anyone except you to make her pregnant.” He says, makes me roll my eyes, 

“You are not gonna trust me? Aren’t you always saying I will be the one you always trust? What happened to that?” He asks, offended. 

He is right, He is the one I trust, He is the only one. was. “Yeah, I did. And you were the only one I trust you with my life. And I want to trust you but everything happening around me proves you were lying to me all the time.” I say, 

He nods and thinks deep. “I can prove it to you, Will I earn your trust back?” He asks. What? How is he gonna prove to me? 

“What?” I ask with a widened eye. 

He focuses on me, “I can prove you that I hadn’t f****d Jessica. And for Brit’s sister, I don’t even know where she is. But She was already pregnant when I started dating her. I was with her for the abortion, I don’t know who told you what. After her abortion, I was with her too, but she has to hide it from everyone. She had her reason and I respected it.” He says. Whatever Adam told me and Jack told me was contradicting. I’m still in a dilemma to choose who I can believe. 

“Where is she?” Jack asks after a few seconds.

I looked at him, unclasped my hands, “She went to some party with her boyfriend.” I say. 

“Do you know where it is?” He asks. I nod. 

He stood up, “We are going there.” 

I drove to the party house, Jack followed in his rental car. I pulled over, Jack parked the car, I can identify some of the faces from high school and college friends. Jack climbed out of the car. There is a voice in my head, Does he have to prove to me? If the role is reversed will he ask me to prove myself? He would never do that. What my inner voice is tell me? Trust him. No one else. 

“Jack..” I called him. 

He turned to me, “It’s okay. Just don’t get caught by her. I never wanted to hurt you and I never wanted to lie to you. Tonight I will clear everything, I will make everything straight.” He says kisses on my forehead before he leaves me. He went inside the house, I wore the mask in the dashboard, which pinkie bought for me, and I followed Jack with a good distance. 

I hid inside the wall when Jack met Jessica, “What a surprise? I never expect you to be here.” Jessica exclaims and gives him a hug and cheek kiss. 

Jack smiles at her, “Yeah, Just wanted to have fun.” He slurred.

“Fun?” She asks. Jack leans to her, taking her waist as his hand goes down to her ass, “Yes, FUN” He says looking at her with lust and his lips brushing her lips. I clench my fist. 

“Hey, Who is he?” A tall guy with long hair asked, Jack, turned to look at him. “He is a friend of mine, Can you bring us some vodka, It’s been so long I haven’t talked to him,” Jess says to the tall guy. Once the tall guy left, Jess took Jack’s hand and walked him upstairs, Jack saw me and eyed to follow him and I did. I followed them to the room which looks like an office room. Before she saw me, I hid under a long and thick curtain.

“What got into you hunters today?” She asks. Jack lied on his back on the couch. 

“What do you mean?” He plays innocence. 

She chuckles, “Idris is in my home.” She says.

Jack takes his hand to unbutton her shirt, “Is she? What is she doing there?” He asks. 

Jessica unbuttons Jack’s white shirt, “Nevermind. We have time for ourselves.” She says.

Jack smiles, “Right. I thought you were with your boyfriend and didn't want me.” He pouts. 

Jessica laughs, removing her shirt, “Yeah, I’m. But I still want you, I have always wanted you.” 

Jack laughs, “And?” 

“You are so hot now, I want to suck your d**k, I want to ride you” She has no shame to talk like this to Jack when her boyfriend is downstairs. 

She leans to him, to kiss him, and he kisses her back, makes me madder. When I came out of the hiding place, Jack held his hand. What does he want me to do? Watch him cheating on me with my best friend? 

Jack pulled back, “Remove it.” He says tapping her pants. 

“Didn’t you always say, you wanted your first love to be your first. So what happened to it? Or it was just an excuse not to do it with me?”  Jessica asks. 

I was shocked and wanted to punch Jessica on her face for lying to me. 

“Yeah, I did. But I learned I shouldn’t waste the chances I get.” Jack says. 

Jessica removes her dress and stands half-naked, “I may not be your first, But I will make sure I’m the best you have ever had.” She says challengingly. 

I can’t stop myself from beating her. I turned her and punched on her face, “You lied to me. I thought you were my best friend” I say. 

She takes her dress to hide her half-naked body, “Why are you here? And what got into you? Why did you punch me?” She asks confusedly while dressing herself. 

“I never thought you would do something like that,” I say. She tries to launch herself on me. But Jack stops her. 

“Idris, Jack. What sick game are you playing with me?” She asks innocently. 

I pushed her on the couch, “All these years you are lying to me, to everyone. Hiding under your skin. Your boyfriend deserves someone better than you” I never thought Jessica would do such things. I never thought she is capable of betrayal. 

“Idris, I don’t understand anything that is happening here since you stepped into my house,” Jessica says.

“Well, Nothing new to me. Idris knows who you are now.” Jack smirks, buttoning his shirt. 

Jessica stands on her feet, “I never imagined I would be played by my best friend since 3rd grade and my first boyfriend.” She said and left the room before she hit my shoulder with hers.

After she went, Jack and I stood in silence, I’m with guilt for doubting him and he is guilty because I made him think he hurt me so much. When I didn’t say anything, Jack left the room. I sat on the couch, and a tear fell on my cheeks, not because I thought I was betrayed, but I didn’t believe him when he was just trying to say the truth. He was telling the truth about Ginny too. I’m so good at screwing things If I waited and talked to him, we wouldn’t be here and After all, it was me who said he had to forget me, date someone, fall in love with someone, Even if he did I have nothing to do with it. I acted out of jealousy, I acted out of fear of losing Jack. I wiped my tears and walked downstairs. Jack was sitting on his hood of the car, When he saw me, He moved to lean to his car. 

“I have to return the car,” Jack says, holding the car key, I nod. 

There is still two feet distance between us, I want to say sorry but will the sorry heal the wound I caused in him? 

We stood there, I looked at my loafers and I could feel his eyes on me. After a few minutes, He walked to his car and drove away. I sat in the car, I looked at the rear mirror, my eyes were swollen, my cheeks and rose were red, my little makeup was completely ruined. I took the tissue paper to wipe everything clean from my face. And I drove to my home.
