They put me on a raised platform like an animal ready to be sold. My hands were tied behind my back, my legs bound together, and the scraps of fabric covering my body did little to hide my humiliation. The men circling me didn’t even try to disguise their hunger. They stared openly, calculating, amused.“Fifty lakhs.”“Seventy.”Their bids rose casually, as if they were purchasing cattle instead of a human being. My father stood among them, smiling proudly, as though this was his greatest achievement.I wanted the ground to split open and swallow me whole. Then I saw him.The masked stranger — the man I don't know still felt connected and had secretly hoped would be different. For a foolish second, I believed he had come to stop this madness. Our eyes locked.“One billion.”The music died. The room fell silent.Hope shattered inside my chest. He hadn’t come to save me.He had come to buy me.Sold to the highest bidder, I was handed over to a man whose very presence commanded fear. A king among wolves. Ruthless. Untouchable. The Lycan King purchased me...What none of them knew was that the girl they auctioned that night was not powerless. The Lycan King didn’t just purchase a slave. He purchased his Luna..

Destiny Is Not In My Favour
Avelora Pov I sat in the corner of the room, tears streaming down my cheeks in rivulets, knowing that things were going to soon get much worse than they already were. I dialed my mate's number, but it went to voicemail again for the tenth time in the last hour. My life was falling apart, and my only hope in all this chaos was completely unreachable to me. "Moon Goddess, please show some mercy," I sobbed, biting my finger nails anxiously. "Why aren't you ready yet?" A loud voice startled me. I stood up at once, looking at my father with fear in my eyes. "I found a good place where all the big shots, and rich warriors of the pack will come. They will bid for you," he said, rubbing his hands together excitedly, and I could practically see the dollar signs glowing in his eyes as he stared at me. He was the happiest I'd ever seen him. And why wouldn't he be? He had waited for this moment for years, and now that I was finally going to turn eighteen in the upcoming month, he didn't want to waste another second finding an owner for me in exchange for a boat load of cash. "Stop crying. Whoever buys you will keep you happy," he said, his tone soft, as if I was a little kid who didn't know better and would fall for his stupid lies. "Will he keep me happy, or will it be you who'd be happy with all the money you'll get?" I practically snarled at him. His eyes widened in shock. This was the first time I'd been rude to him and talked back like that. Even I was a little surprised, but I knew I had to be more vocal if I didn't want my own father to sell me off. "What did you just say?" he gritted out, glaring at me. I gulped, my bravado faltering for a moment before I forced steel into my spine. I had to take a stand for myself before it was too late. "I'm your daughter. How could you do this to your own child?" I cried out, trying to appeal to his conscience. "Please, father, don't do this. I have a mate who I love a lot," I continued when he didn't say anything, trying my best to get him to change his mind. However, his annoyed expression told me he wasn't going to listen to me no matter what. "Get ready before I lose my temper and ask the warrior outside to come inside and undress you." My eyes widened at his words. For a moment, I couldn't believe my ears, but when I noticed the serious look on his face, I understood that it wasn't an empty threat. He really would let a stranger maul his own daughter without any shame whatsoever. Feeling heart broken and dejected, I quietly bowed my head and nodded. Once he was gone, I sat back on the couch and looked at the short dress on the bed I was supposed to get dressed in. With its deep neckline and short length that ended well above mid thigh, it barely covered anything. Tears of humiliation rolled down my face, knowing I was doomed now. I gently touched my stomach where a new life was blooming. I didn't know what turn life was going to take from here, but I knew it wasn't going to be anything good. "Moon Goddess! Why are you doing this to me? What will I do now?" I whispered and looked at the number of missed calls I had given to my boyfriend. He didn't know about the baby. He didn't know what my father was planning on doing to me. How was I ever going to get out of this alone, without his help? I shook my head to myself. No. I refused to be a pawn in my own life. I won't give up. I had to get out of here, if not for myself, then for my baby. I picked up the dress from the bed and changed into it, wearing a robe over it to cover myself. That dress hardly covered anything for me, but I didn't have a choice. Taking a deep breath, I walked out of the room, knowing that my father would be waiting right outside. "I like it when you listen to me without throwing any tantrums," he smirked. I didn't reply, quietly bowing my head, and taking deep breaths to stay calm and focused. "Let's go," he said, grabbing my hand before he started dragging me towards the door. The moment he let go of my hand to open the door, I picked up the vase from the side table and smashed it on his head. He turned and looked at me in shock. He clearly hadn't expected me to fight back. He raised his hand to hit me, but stumbled. I gulped, watching the blood pouring out of his head with equal parts horror and satisfaction. Then, I pushed him away with all my might and ran outside to save myself and my baby. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, knowing that I didn't have much time before my father's wolf healed his wound, and he came after me. I was still running, not really seeing where I was going when a car nearly crashed into me, its tires screeching as it came to a halt barely an inch away from me. Breathing heavily, I looked at the car's windshield only to find a pair of eyes already watching me. The man's face was covered with a mask, but his eyes felt awfully familiar to me. "I will not spare you today!" My father's threatening voice reached my ears, making my eyes widen. I panicked when I noticed him running towards me, and resumed running to save my dear life. I noticed the person who was sitting in the car had his eyes fixed on me, but I didn't pay any heed to him and ran for my life. I knew I couldn't outrun my father so I turned into an isolated street and hid in a dark corner, hoping and praying that he wouldn't find me. However, destiny wasn't in my favour. Before I could do so much as let out a sigh in relief, the sound of my father's footsteps met my ears. I'd obviously been busted. The thought of him getting his hands on me again sent chills down my spine. I knew first hand how cruel his punishments could be. "You really thought you could run away from me? From a werewolf?" he said, chuckling darkly at my miserable state as he stood in front of me. I closed my eyes, hating my life more than ever now. Dear Goddess, how could I have thought that I could ever outrun a powerful werewolf like him? "Ahh!" I whimpered when he grabbed my hair and made me stand. I opened my eyes and looked at him, struggling to free myself. It hurt like hell and I almost felt as if he would rip my hair out of my skull any second now. "I knew this would happen. That's why I planned a gift for you. Something that will keep you in line and stop you from destroying my plan," he hissed. Before I could protest or make sense of what he had just said, he produced a needle from his pocket and injected it into my neck. I groaned in pain when the needle pierced my skin. I pushed him away with all my might and took a step away from him, ready to make a run for it again. But the damage was already done. The world tilted, and I stumbled, nearly falling over as everything started getting blurry. "You made things easier for me by running this side. The place where your auction will be held is nearby," he said and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards him. Suddenly, I felt my body getting heavier, my limbs feeling loose like I was no longer in control of myself. My world spun as he picked me up in his arms and started walking. I managed to keep my hand over my stomach, tears of helplessness rolling down my cheeks, realising I'd failed to protect not just my unborn child, but myself as well. I had no idea where he was taking me. Time and distance lost meaning as I drifted in and out of consciousness. But one thing I was sure of was that my life as I knew it was going to be over today.
