Eddison must choose between keeping control of his carefully planned life and allowing someone else to see the person behind his perfect image.Between secrets, unexpected friendships, family expectations, and the pressure of high school life, Kiesha and Eddison discover that sometimes the person who challenges you the most can become the person who changes you forever. But when their tangled lies threaten to destroy the fragile bond they have created, will they find a way to trust each other, or will their differences tear them apart? In a world where everyone wears a mask, Kiesha and Eddison must learn that the strongest bonds are often created from the most complicated beginnings.

Chapter 1; How it all began
Brookwood high school Brookwood High School had always been a place where reputation mattered. Everyone knew everyone. Everyone knew who was popular, who was intelligent, who was talented, and who was destined to disappear into the crowd. And if there was one person who could never disappear, it was Kiesha Raymond. To most students, Kiesha was the bright sunshine of Brookwood High School. She was the girl who walked through the hallways with confidence, greeted everyone with a smile, and somehow managed to make even the strictest teachers soften whenever she entered their classroom. She had dark brown eyes that matched perfectly with her short brown bob hair. She was not the type of girl who needed exaggerated beauty to attract attention. Her confidence alone made people look twice whenever she walked past. But her greatest achievement was not her appearance. It was her position. Kiesha was the first girl in Brookwood High School's history to become the leader of the cheerleading squad for two years straight. The cheerleading squad was the pride of the school, the largest student group, and one of the most supported organizations. Everyone wanted to be part of it. Parents begged school officials to give their daughters a chance. Students admired the cheerleaders. Teachers praised their dedication. And at the center of it all was Kiesha. But there was one thing people did not know about her. Behind the confidence, the popularity, and the perfect smile was a girl who struggled whenever books were placed in front of her. Studying was never her favorite thing. Kiesha could organize a cheer routine, motivate a team, and handle hundreds of people watching her, but sitting quietly for hours reading textbooks felt like punishment. That was why the American Literary exam was already giving her a headache. Especially because she had spent the previous night studying the wrong subject. It all started at 10 a.m. The moment Kiesha entered the examination hall, she knew something was wrong. She stared at the paper in front of her timetable again and again, hoping her eyes were deceiving her. American Literary Exam. Not History of English Language. Her heart sank. "You're kidding me," she whispered. She had spent the entire night preparing for the wrong subject. And as if that was not enough, she looked around the hall and realized she was sitting in a completely different seat from where she expected. No friends beside her. No familiar faces. Just her and the one person she never wanted to sit with during an exam. Eddison Reynold. The school genius. The walking dictionary. The person who seemed to know everything and had absolutely no interest in breaking any rules. Everyone at Brookwood knew Eddison. He was the smartest student in school, but he was also known for being extremely strict during examinations. He hated cheating. He hated malpractice. In fact, whenever students were given opportunities to present speeches, Eddison always chose topics about academic honesty and the dangers of examination malpractice. So imagine Kiesha's surprise when, after struggling for several minutes, Eddison quietly moved his paper slightly toward her. She looked at him in disbelief. Was he actually helping her? At first, she thought maybe her charm had worked. After all, she was Kiesha. People usually wanted to help her. But she was wrong. Completely wrong. Because Eddison had a plan. After finishing his examination, he didn't submit his paper immediately. Instead, he waited. He watched. And when he noticed Kiesha finally dropped her pen, he reached into his bag and placed a small folded paper on her desk. The same moment Kiesha was thanking him sincerely. She looked at him suspiciously. "What is this?" she whispered. Eddison simply looked away. Kiesha opened the paper. The message was short. “Nothing comes for free. Meet me at the basketball court in thirty minutes.”. Kiesha stared at the note, her eyebrows furrowed. She told herself it was nothing — maybe he wanted help with cheer tryouts, or a favor for one of his projects. She was Kiesha Raymond. People didn't threaten her. People asked her for things, nicely, and she decided whether to say yes. She should have known better. She wanted to laugh, but something about Eddison's serious expression made her hesitate. Thirty minutes later, she stood at the basketball court waiting. Five minutes passed. Then ten. Then twenty. "Seriously?" she muttered. She was about to leave when footsteps approached. Eddison finally appeared. "What exactly do you want?" Kiesha asked. He remained silent. That annoyed her. "Look, I don't have time for games. You helped me during the exam, and I appreciate it and once again I'm saying thank you for what you did for me. So tell me your price." Eddison looked at her calmly. That calmness irritated her even more. "What?" she asked. For a moment, he looked like he was fighting a smile. Then he finally spoke. "I need you to do something for me." Kiesha crossed her arms. "Something like what?" "Something only you can do." The way he said it made her uncomfortable. "Eddison, if this is some weird revenge because I copied from you, just say it. Besides,I didn't force you to let me copy from your work; you did it willingly" His expression changed slightly. "I don't need revenge, Kiesha." "Then what?" He stepped closer. "I need your cooperation." She waited. But whatever he wanted, she already knew she would not like it. Because nothing about Eddison Reynold was simple. And that was the moment Kiesha realized she might have made the biggest mistake of her life by accepting his help. Because the person she thought was just the school's quiet genius... was actually someone with a plan. A plan that would change everything.
