"That's something we'll talk about later." Din extended his hand to Will, expecting him to hand over the keys to his automobile.
Will grinned and returned the key to Din. "I'm curious as to what transpired last night between you and Jessie." He made fun of Din.
Din shrugged and walked over to the driver's door. "I have a lot of work to do. We will not tell anyone about what happened last night, especially Beth. Are we on the same page?"
"All right, friend. Have a wonderful day ahead of you." Will grinned as Din drove away.
Din recalled what had happened between him and Jessie the night before. She'd passed out while he was trying to make out with her. He was also relieved that he hadn't had any s****l relations with her.
He grinned as he obtained a piece of paper from the drawer. He flipped the paper open. Jessie had agreed to the marriage after they had both attended a wedding down the street. They'd both gone for a walk outside the club. Even though Jessie was a little tipsy, she'd insisted on attending the celebration after hearing noises coming from that direction.
She wouldn't stop making a fuss and he had no choice but to take her in. Jessie had dashed over to the bride and posed for pictures with her. She'd snatched the bride's flowers and used them to adorn her hair, as well as forcing Din to place the ring on her finger. He saw that as an opportunity to marry her because his grandfather had requested it. Din had acquired himself a wife to delight his grandfather, and only God knew where Jessie obtained the plastic ring from.
He slid the paper into his pocket. Khalid had supplied him with Jessie's home address earlier that morning, and he'd planned to send her the paper with confirmation of their marriage and she should also be prepared to live with him.
He came to a complete stop in his car and entered the company. The lady who delivers his early morning coffee ran up to him as usual, and he accepted it from her. He appeared to be in a good mood, perhaps because he knew he'd be bothering someone that morning. He was looking forward to seeing Jessie's reaction when she received the mail he was preparing to send her.
"Thank you," Din said as he walked to the elevator with the lady.
The lady was taken aback by what she witnessed. Din Cooper had never mentioned it to her before. He had always been disrespectful to her. She walked away with a smile on her face.
Din, on the other hand, entered his workplace holding the cup of coffee and placing it on the table. He looked around and exhaled when he saw his grandfather wasn't inside the office. He took his suit off and hung it and tossed his suitcase on the chair.
He smiled and took another glance around. His hands were clasped together on his hips. As he took the paper from his pocket, he chuckled. He messed around with the paper he and Jessie had signed over as a pair. He had the impression that it would be a great day for him, but not for Jessie.
Din moved his chair out to have his seat and sat down. He flipped open the manual that was on the table.
When he heard a knock on the door, he invited the visitor inside.
Khalid had walked into Din's office clutching a stack of books. Din said, "Place it there," and Khalid followed his instructions.
As he headed towards Din, Khalid stated, "Sir, you were supposed to meet with the client today." Behind him, his hands were positioned.
Din put the manual down and raised his eyes to Khalid. "Can you tell me what time it was again?" "The meeting."
"Sir, it's eleven-thirty. The manuals you requested have been placed at that location." He pointed to the spot where he'd left the books earlier.
With a smile on his face, Din nodded.
"Do you have anything else you'd like me to do before I leave?" Khalid said and Din motioned with his hand to Khalid, instructing him to go do whatever he needed to do.
Din called Khalid back as he was leaving. Khalid shifted his gaze to Din.
Din motioned him over with his hand once more. All of a sudden, he appeared to recall something. "Sir, you called." Khalid took a step forward, his hands were back behind his back.
Din rose from his seat and took the paper from the table. He made a gesture with his hand.
Khalid's hand is extended. Khalid was confused, but he accepted it anyhow. He flicked the page back and forth before looking Din in the eyes. "You must assist me in mailing it to someone."
"Who is it sir?" Khalid inquired.
"Do you remember the address you gave me earlier?" When Din inquired, Khalid nodded. "Exactly. It must be sent to that address. You must ensure that the letter reaches the intended recipient today. Okay?"
Khalid nodded and was about to go when Din summoned him once again.
"Sir!" Din was able to discern Khalid's false smile.
He wasn't a moron.
"Please hand over the paper to me. I completely neglected to write something down." Khalid followed Din's instructions and handed the paper over to him. Din pulled an envelope from his drawer and stuffed the paper inside. He took out his pen and scribbled his phone number on the envelope's bottom side. With a grin on his face, he raised his head. "So there you have it. Ascertain that the letter is received by the intended recipient. It is important and ensures that there are no errors. I'll also prepare for today's meeting with the client." Din's face was bright with a grin. "Go ahead and do it. I'm through with this section." As Khalid walked out the door, he checked his watch.
Because the time was still ten-fifteen, He still had some time before his meeting with his client to go over the new printed manual.
He picked up a copy of the new printed manual Khalid had left earlier. He smelt the newly printed handbook and walked over to his chair to re-sit, but his phone began to ring before he could open it. It was Beth on the other end of the line.
He answered it in one ring. "Greetings, babe. I'm sorry I didn't phone you to let you know I'd returned. Is everything in that area in order?" Din had inquired over the phone.
Beth let out a sigh. "It's a good thing you picked up this time."
"What do you mean?" Din asked.
"I've been trying to contact you for nearly an hour now, but it's not working." She sighed yet again. "I'm delighted you've returned. What's new with you?"
"I'm at work and have a meeting in an hour, but since you called, I could spend that time talking to you on the phone before my meeting. What are your thoughts?" Din inquired, fidgeting with the hard manual's front cover.
"Are you sure?" Beth inquired.
"Yes, I am certain. I haven't forgotten about you. I can't wait to cuddle you when I get home."
Beth laughed. She said, "I miss you too, honey, and I can't wait for you to return home. Before I forget..."
"Yes."
"Have you met that Jessie girl?" Beth inquired, but Din remained deafeningly speechless. He'd never considered it before. He'd never considered Beth inquiring about Jessie. What would he say to her if he could? That he met Jessie by chance in Vegas, kissed her, married her, and almost had s*x? Absolutely not!
He had no intention of disclosing the information. No, not yet. But he'd already communicated with Jessie. She was now his wife, and she would be staying with him from then on. "Hello!" exclaimed Beth. She said, "Are you still there?"
"I am," Din said. He swallowed his saliva and cleared his throat. "So, what was the question this time? I believe I went blank." He paused. "Before I meet with the clients, I've been thinking about the questions they'll ask me. It's strange, but I'm quite nervous." He told a falsehood.
"Babe, you'll be fine. You're not meeting with a client for the first time. You'll be well, and you'll make sales." "By the way, my question was about Jessie. Have you had the chance to meet her yet? Was she in agreement with the marriage? She would, of course. She might have been the one who approached your grandfather about marrying you." Beth sneered.
"She hasn't heard about the wedding, sweetheart." Din abruptly stated. He didn't intend to say that, but the words came out unintentionally.
"That indicates you've met her. Already?"
"I did it, of course. We met, but she was completely unaware that I was the man she would marry."
"That's an odd situation."
"Beth, I know." He looked at his wristwatch once again. "Is it okay if we discuss this later? Khalid has arrived, and regardless of the meeting, I'm sure he has something to say to me." He lied once more. He'd never lied to her before, but he wasn't ready to discuss Jessie just now. Beth, on the other hand, was annoying him with Jessie's name, just when he thought he was going to have a fantastic day of finally getting to frustrate Jessie, he was the one getting frustrated instead.
"Okay, that's OK. I understand if you don't want to talk about it."
"I'd like to discuss it when I get home. Everything will be indicated to you. Okay?"
"That's fine." Beth let out a sigh.
Din remarked over the phone, "I love you and I always will." He assured her. His hand had already let go of the handbook.
"I love you as well." Din withdrew the phone from his ear and placed it on the table as soon as Beth ended the call.
"s**t!" He screamed.
