Chapter Six Tom I’m surrounded by pieces of the large table when Mia comes into the back room, staring at me with bleary eyes. “Huh?” She blinks, rubbing her eyes in a way that’s much too cute and makes her look more like she was at sixteen than the twenty-six she is now. “It needed fixing. It was falling apart and really just needed to be pulled apart and put back together.” I shrug. I was up early, apparently my body just does that, no matter how late I go to sleep.
