Autumn's stomach jumped into her throat and then fell back down full force causing her knees to buckle. Slowly, she lowered her body to the floor and sat proper on her knees. She gently took the now glassless frame from Jeremy's hand and brushed the last shard from Maylee's face. “Sorry.” He muttered cautiously, noticing the broken-hearted sulk that was scrawled all over Autumn's face. “I was going to help you unpack and organize a few of your boxes. I guess my clumsiness got the best of me.” Autumn nodded, but refused to look up at him. His apology was clearly genuine, yet for the moment she couldn't bring herself to make eye contact. This was her stuff, and he had no right to be rummaging through it in the first place, but to drop Maylee to the floor was an unnecessary act of carelessn
