Chapter 15

I woke up to the sun gleaming through my window. I stretched my arms up and noticed the pain in my arm was nearly gone. I am hoping my dream was real.

"Amaya?" I called out.

"Yes Mar, I am here. you don't need to speak out loud for us to talk. Just think of me and I will always be there." she said as I sighed with relief.

"okay cool.... So now what?"

"Can we meet mate?"

"You mean Jake?" I asked, I could almost picture her wagging her tail in excitement at the sound of his name.

"Yes please!" I laughed and reached for my phone.

-Hey Jake?- I hit send and waited. Just like before there was no reply to the text but a knock at my door.

"Come in!" I yelled. As soon as he opened the door I could smell the Lavender and Oak again but much stronger and it was heavenly. I hear Amaya screaming "Mate" over and over again.

Jake is standing in the doorway just staring at me with a confused look on his face.

"Mar?"

"Yes Jake?"

"Why do you smell different?" he said while he slowly approaches the side of my bed. As soon as he was within arms reach I couldn't stop myself from grabbing him and pulling him into a deep kiss. I can hear Amaya growling softly in what I hope was approval.

It took Jake a moment to realize what was happening before he responded to the kiss. He slowly wrapped one of his arms around my waist and put his other hand behind my head. The sparks I felt before were nothing compared to what I am feeling now.

After we pulled away to breath we just stared at each other. I could feel Amaya trying to push forward and I let her. To say the feeling was weird would be an understatement. I could see and hear everything but had no control.

"Hello Mate." Amaya said to Jake. Her voice was similar to mine but with an animalistic tone to it. Jake sat back and had that look of shock and confusion on his face.

"Marlene?"

"Try again Lover boy. My name is Amaya. It's nice to finally meet you." she said with a grin.

"Wait your her wolf? When did this happen?"

"Yes I am her wolf and there is a lot to talk about but I will let Mar explain it to you. Talk to you next time lover boy" she told him before kissing him again and pushing my forward.

We sat there for a good few hours as I told him everything Amaya told me. I also told him some of the dreams and that they are memories.

"Wow, that's crazy. I wonder why none of us could sense your wolf this whole time."

"Amaya says it's due to whatever it was they used to suppress her, But with all the blood I lost and the visit by (who we believe was the Moon Goddess) Amaya was finally able to push through the barrier." I said while he just nodded in understanding.

Just then my stomach growled real loud and Jake looked at me then his watch.

"Oh, wow yeah it's 4 o'clock. you haven't eaten all day, we should get some food in you. Dinner should be ready soon, would you like to go down with me?"

"Sure" I said with a smile.

He quickly picked me up and took me to the bathroom so I could do my business. Then he wheeled me out to the dinning room. There was a lot of people sitting and chatting waiting for the food. As soon as we entered the room everyone stopped talking and turned to Jake and I.

"Good evening everyone" Jake said "Mar just discovered she is not human and is indeed a werewolf. If you have noticed the change in her scent, this would be the reason. Please get familiar with it as she will be your Luna." As soon as he finished his speech the room erupted in cheers and people congratulated the both of us. Jake placed me at the table and sat next to me.

"What is a Luna?" I asked him in a whisper.

"Oh I forgot to tell you... I am the Alpha of my pack, essentially the leader and you are our Luna and my equal." He says and I soon become a bit nervous. I don't know really anything about wolves or packs let alone know how to help run one.

I was pulled from my thoughts when Sarah comes and gives me a big hug while squealing "Oh Mar, I am so happy for you! I can't wait to meet your wolf, is she nice? what's her name?"

"Hi Sarah, thank you... um her name is Amaya, and I just met her myself so I'm not sure but so far she is really nice." I told her.

"I like her." Amaya said.

"Amaya said she likes you already." I told Sarah with a smile. Sarah smiles and just before she could respond a bunch of people started to bring plates out starting with Jake and I. He started to eat right away before everyone had their plates and I thought this was rude. Even with how hungry I felt I didn't like eating before everyone was served.

"Jake?" he stopped eating and looked at me. Instead of saying anything to him I just cleared my throat to get everyone's attention.

"May I have everyone's attention please! " I called out to everyone. They all stopped and looked at me. I was slightly nervous, but sat up tall and spoke loudly so everyone could hear me.

"I would like everyone to wait to start eating until everyone has been served a plate please." I looked to Jake to see if I was out of line and he just smiled at me.

"You heard your Luna" The servers continued to serve the food and no one touched their plates. As soon as the last plate was set everyone turned to me again.

"Um.. Thank you everyone, Please enjoy!" I said and the feast began.

Once I was full after my second plate Jake, Sarah, Derek and I went out to the front yard. By now the sun was down and an almost full moon was starting to rise.

"I am proud of what you did in there, a lot of the lower ranked warriors appreciated what you did as well." Jake said, Sarah and Derek nodded in agreement.

"Well I figured a pack is like a family right? so we should treat everyone like family." I stated.

"Very well said." Derrick said.

"You are already a great Luna." Sarah said making me blush.

"So why are we out here?" I asked.

"I would like you to meet some people." Jake replied.

Soon after a car pulls up and three men and two women step out. The older man and woman look a lot like Jake and his siblings. The other two men are both tall and well built, one has blonde hair or the other has light brown hair. The other woman was small and had beautiful long red hair. the redhead was holding the hand of the man with blonde hair.

"Marlene, I would like to introduce you to my parents. Alpha Sam and Luna Patricia." He said motioning to the older couple. I held my hand out to them.

"It's nice to meet you." I said and Luna Patricia just jumped right in for a hug.

"No need for formality hun, I am so happy to see you." she said. Jake's father took my hand and shook it gently.

"I am happy my son has finally found his mate and a pretty one you are." he said, the last part making me blush.

"This is my beta and his mate, Paul and Amy." Jake said as he motioned to the young couple.

"Nice to meet you." I said to them again holding my hand out. Amy also gave me a hug

"It's so nice to meet you Luna I hope we can be good friends." Amy said. Paul just stood there and nodded his head at me smiling.

"And last but not least this is my gamma Ricardo." Jake said motioning to the last guy.

"Evening luna." He said also with a head nod.

"Good evening." I replied "shall we go inside for some drinks?" I asked everyone.

As we got inside I started to feel really hot. I pulled the coat I was wearing off and started to fan myself but it didn't help. Everyone was deep in conversation about to the recent movements and I was trying to pay attention.

"Amaya, what's going on?" I silently asked my wolf.

"Our body is getting prepared to shift." she replied

"Right now?!" I asked worried.

"No, I am almost done healing you so we have started going into what is called wolf fever. It will pass once we shift tomorrow night under the full moon." she is explained.

By this point I am sweating so bad my clothes are becoming soaked.

"luna? are you okay?" Ricardo whispered to me.

"I am okay, just need some ice water, can you take me to the kitchen please?" I asked him. He quickly looked towards Jake who is still deep in conversation with his beta Paul and Alpha Sam. He turned back to me with a small hesitant smile before Wheeling me towards the kitchen. The kitchen was empty, I was hoping there was someone from the dinner crew left. Ricardo started to go through the cabinets to find me a glass.

As he hands me the ice water I take it gingerly but down it in one go.

"Thank you Ricardo." I say as he takes the glass to refill it.

"You can call me Rick, and it was no problem luna." he says.

"In that case please call me Mar. I'm not used to the whole Luna thing yet." I say with a smile. He returns a smile.

"So.. Rick, do you have a mate?" I asked to start some conversation. He looks away before saying

"No, not yet, but she is out there I know it." I smile at his confidence,

"Well I hope you find her soon."

Just then Jake walks in with an angry expression.

"I was wondering were you two had gone."

"Rick was just helping me get a glass of water." I told him.

"I could have helped you with that." He said with jealousy dripping from every word.

"I didn't want to interrupt your conversation." I explained. It didn't seem to matter as I see Rick's and Jake's eyes glaze over then Rick quickly leaving without saying another word.

"What did you do?" I asked him.

"What do you mean?" he said acting oblivious. I grunted in frustration and tried to wheel myself away.

"I'm not an i***t jake! I know y'all are somehow communicating mentally!" I yell at him.

"I never said you were an i***t, I just don't want you around any unmated males." He said the last part with a clipped tone.

"Sarah!" I called out. She came in hesitantly.

"Yeah?"

"Can you take me to my room please." She was hesitant at first but then quickly wheeled me away and I didn't even glance back at Jake.
