I sat by the desk for a few more minutes when there was another knock on my door. "Hey Mar, it's Sarah." There was a pause before she spoke again. "I came to get you, Jake is ready to talk to you. He wants you to meet him outside. The three of us will be waiting for you out on the side patio." After she was done talking I heard her sigh before walking away.
I have been preparing myself for the worst case scenario, and playing out scenes in my head of different conversations that could happen or what truths are to be revealed. It's something I have always done to get myself ready for what may or may not happen.
As I leave my room and head for the stairs, I carrying my bag with me just in case things don't go the way I expect. I am only a few steps down when I loose my footing trying to shift my weight to accommodate the large bag I have. I start to fall down the stairs with my bag tumbling after me. Pain shoots up my left arm and right ankle, just before I hit the ground at the end of the stairs, hitting my head hard on the floor.
I try to lift my left arm only to be met with a sharp pain. I reach with my right hand feel the part of my head that is now warm and throbbing. I wince as my fingers come in contact with a wet substance that I now see is blood, pouring from my head. Not to long after I feel dizzy and everything goes black.
Dream 3:
Again I found myself walking in clouds. This is the only dream I have ever had. Everytime I sleep, it's either nothing or this. I wish my subconscious would be a bit more imaginative. Just then the scene changed and I was now standing in the woods. There was a full moon above me and it was bright enough for me to see everything.
I start to walk around letting my hand caress the trees. As I was walking a warm mist started to envelope me, which was nice. I continued to walk until I came to a clearing in the trees. There were thousands of wild flowers in the clearing, making realize it was more a meadow than anything else.
In the center of the meadow sat a beautiful woman wearing what looks to be a long white gown. She had her legs crossed and her hands rested palm up on either knee. Her head was tilted up towards the full moon that was right above her in the sky. She reminded me of a Goddess from all those Greek mythology stories I read about in school.
Her hair was silver, not in an old person kinda way but the color many young girls spend hundreds of dollars on to achieve.
As I step closer she doesn't move, and although I wasn't invited to, I sat in front of her in the same position she is in. I don't know why I did, but I felt like it was the right thing to do.
She met my eyes and was about to say something when the world spun and I was no longer in the dream world. Not I feel myself laying in a bed with the all to familiar beeping noise. I tried to open my eyes but they felt way to heavy. So I just laid there trying to relax and wait for either death or sleep.
***Jake's POV***
We were all outside waiting for Mar. Tonight was a full moon so I thought it would be perfect to tell her everything and then show her who I really am. I asked Sarah and Derek to join us just in case she doesn't take it well. My wolf whimpers at the thought of her hating us and leaving.
Just as I started to pace I can hear her leaving her room. "Here she comes." I say out loud, not to anyone in particular. "It will be fine Jake, she likes you and I think she will understand." Sarah tries to calm me down and it was working until we heard a loud crash coming from inside the house. We all run in and find Marlene at the bottom of the stairs with a broken ankle, arm and blood pooling around her head. I quickly pick her up and start running.
The pack house was only a few miles away and I could hear Sarah and Derek right behind me. I can feel her pulse get weaker and weaker from the blood loss. "Oh Goddess please don't take her." I said while we approached the pack house I turned to run around the left of the building to the hospital.
As soon as I walk in two nurses come over and take her from my arms. They look from me to Mar and back. "Yes, she is human, please save her." I ask in a broken voice. They nod their heads and get to work bandaging Marlene's head when the doctor walks in and they push me out to get to work. I let out a long sigh while I slide down the wall and sit on the floor. This is going to be a long night.
