Grace: My Head hurt and I didn’t want to open my eyes, but I knew eventually I would have to. Daddy would be calling any minute now asking how I was doing. I groaned and tried to open my eyes. As soon as the light hit my exposed pupils my eyes snapped shut again. I heard something to my right and turned my head in that direction slowly opening my eyes and hoping I wasn’t facing a window. When I realized I wasn’t I opened my eyes all the way to see a guy looking at me. I screamed and pulled blankets up to my chest. What was a guy doing in my room?! “The money is over there, just don ‘t hurt me!” I sat up and pointed to where my purse should have been but wasn’t. “I’m not going to hurt you.” The guy said moving closer to me. I screamed again and scampered over to the other side of the bed. “Please stop screaming.” He said running a hand through his hair. I stopped and watched him, “I’m not going to hurt you Grace.” “How do you know my name?” I asked looking around for my purse. I had pepper spray in there and now would be a great opportunity to use it, “How did you get into my room?” “Technically it’s my room.” He said rubbing the back of his neck. My eyes rested on him confused. “Your room?” I asked c*****g my head to the side. “Yeah, I didn’t want to dig through your stuff to get your keys.” He said like it was obvious. “How… nice of you.” I said still very confused, “can I have my purse?” I asked crawling closer. “Why?” He asked stiffening. “I want to make sure you didn’t steal anything.” I said holding my hand out for my purse. He mumbled something but the only word I heard was “idiot.” “What was that?” I asked, moving closer. “I said I didn’t take anything, I’m not an idiot.” He rolled his eyes and turned back to me, my purple purse in his hands. “I need to check.” I said holding out my hand impatiently. I didn’t care if he said he wasn’t going to hurt me, I still wanted out of his room. I wasn’t really sure what was going on. I would call Daddy when I figured out where I was and ask him to send someone to pick me up. “Don’t you even wanna know where you are?” He asked with a small smile. “No.” I said pushing hair out of my face. “We’re in your hotel.” he said stepping toward me something inside me started to jump up and down, if I could find my room, I would be safe. “Your room is right next door.” He pointed to the far wall. Okay new plan gets to my room and beg daddy to come and get me right then! The guy handed me my purse and I sorted through it to find the pepper spray. He was still really close to me so I lifter the pepper sprays up calmly. His eyes widened as I pulled the trigger. Perfect it would burn more. I resisted the urge to giggle as he screamed in pain and jumped back bringing his hands up to his eyes. “Holy crap! Why did you do that!” He yelled. I didn’t answer. This was the perfect opportunity to get away and go back to my room! I dashed over his bed and to the door. By now he had figured out the general direction I was going even though he couldn’t see anything more than blurry shapes. I could hear him starting to move toward me when I threw open his door and ran to mine. Crap I forgot my key! I wasn’t about to run back into his room to get it. Without a second thought I took off down the hall toward the stairs. I didn’t have much of a shot at beating him when he didn’t have pepper spray in his eyes, but I figured with a head start and him being visually impaired I had the advantage. I didn’t even glance at the elevator. I would have to wait for it to open and close I didn’t have that much time. I had just passed the elevator when something tackled me and pinned me down. I struggled against it knowing who and what it was. “Calm down.” He grunted, “I told you I’m not going to hurt you.” “What do you want with me?” I cried, knowing people would come out of there hotel rooms. “Nothing.” He growled standing up and pulling me with him. “I just want to keep my job.” and with that he tossed me over his shoulder and headed back down the hall. I heard a door open. “Little sister trying to sneak out to a party.” He said, I could almost hear the smile on his face, “we can’t have a repeat of last time can we. Dad would kill us both.” He bumped me on his shoulder. It sounded like there was some sort of hidden message in what he was saying. Whoever came out to save me apologized and went back into their room. What was this world coming too when someone would believe a guy with pepper spray all over his face while he was carrying a struggling girl over his shoulder? “Put me down.” I whined. “No.” He said bumping back onto his shoulder. “I can walk you know.” I said, trying to crane around to look at him. “Yup.” He said. Clearly, I wasn’t getting anywhere so I did the next best thing I could think of. “Put me down you i***t!” I screamed kicking and hitting his back, “Put me down now! Someone helps me please!” He grunted and jumped. My stomach crashed down on his shoulder knocking the breath out of me. I gasped for breath and started screaming again. He jumped again. I started pounding his back and he would bump me up onto his shoulder again. Eventually he just stopped and opened a door. He walked in, kicking the door closed behind him and over to the bed where he dumped me down onto the bed. “Don’t try to get away again.” He warned. I couldn’t help but smile at my handiwork. His eyes and the skin around them were so bright red they looked like a weird mask. The only problem was his eyes turned an amazing bright neon blue color with the red. He scowled at my smile making it melt off my face. I pulled my knees up to my chest and looked at him wide eyed knowing that worked with most men. “What do you want?” I asked, letting my voice quiver. “I told you to keep my job.” He said running his hand through his black hair. Under different circumstances I would have thought he was cute. He was tall. But compared to me everyone was tall. He clearly worked out and had the wiry hard muscle to prove it. “How is keeping me here going to help you keep your job?” I asked quietly. “I don’t know, your dad just told me to keep you at this location until he could get here.” He was rubbing his eyes. My eyes grew wide as I realized my mistake. “You work for my dad?” I asked softly. He looked at me and nodded then continued to rub his eyes. “Oh my gosh, I’m sooooooo sorry!” I cried throwing my arms around his neck. He stiffened, apparently, he wasn’t a hugging person. But I was and I felt really bad about pepper spraying him. “Let me help you!” I pulled away from him and grabbed his wrist. “It’s fine really.” His voice was tight. I didn’t care I led him to the bathroom and turned on the water in the sink. I pushed him closer and tried to guide his face under the water. I pushed a little too hard and his nose hit the edge of the sink. “Ow!” He yelled jerking back into an upright position holding his nose. “Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh.” I squealed trying to peel his hands away from his nose, “I’m so sorry let me see!” “No, no you’re done enough!” He said holding me back, “Why don’t you just call your dad and tell him you’re alive.” I felt my eyes well up with tears. He probably hated me. I looked up at him and he closed his eyes and groaned. I hung my head. “I’m sorry.” I whispered, “I just wanted to help.” I heard him sigh and glanced up briefly at him he had his eyes closed and jaw set. I turned to leave my head still down. “Stop.” He said like he pained him, “Maybe I can use your help a little bit.” I jumped around and started bouncing. “Oh my gosh, I promise you’ll be good as new in no time!” I ran over to him. He held up a hand stopping me. “Calm down and be gentle.” He said then sat down on the toilet. I nodded and grabbed a washcloth. I ran it under the water and held it up to him with a small smile. He sighed at sat still as I rubbed the washcloth over the bridge of his nose to clean up the blood from the cut I had inflicted. “What’s your name?” I asked softly as he hissed. “Eli.” He said his teeth clenched. “You don’t have a last name?” I asked rinsing the washcloth in the sink and trying to get some of the pepper spray off of his face. “Fisher.” he said closing his eyes. I didn’t know how to get the pepper spray out of his eyes without an eye wash. “Eli Fisher.” I said with a smile, “Where are you from?” “Do we have to talk?” He asked with a sigh. “No…” I said a little hurt, “I just wanted to get to know you.” “No, you don’t.” He said. “Oh…” I started rinsing the washcloth again and went back to trying to clean pepper spray off his face and out of his eyes. “Michigan.” He said after a while. “huh?” I paused for a second looking at him. He opened his eyes meeting my gaze. “It’s where I’m from.” He said before tipping his head back again. “Thank you.” I said with a small smile, “Why do I have to stay here?” “You don’t remember.” Eli gave me a weird look, “Wow that drug must have been powerful…” “I remember someone grabbing me, but I thought maybe… it was you.” I bit my lip and looked up at him. “Nope.” Eli smiled, “He’s all locked up in your dad’s secret facility.” I smiled at that and quickly squeezed water into his eyes. His eyes snapped closed and he leaned forward gritting his teeth together. “What was that for?” He yelled rubbing his eyes again. Calmly I pulled his hands away from his eyes and held them out to the sides of his head. He jerked them away from me and continued to rub his eyes. I sighed and grabbed his hands again. “Eli, rubbing your eyes only makes it worse.” I said as he tried to pull his hands away again, “I’m just trying to wash out your eyes. I need you to tip your head back again and open your eyes wide.” He sighed and tipped his head back mumbling something about dying. “Now sit on your hands.” “Why?” He asked trying to look at me. “So, you don’t rub your eyes again.” I said. “Can we just wait till d**k gets here?” He asked with a sigh. “d**k?” I stepped back looking at him confused. “Yeah… he’s a doctor.” Eli said squeezing his eyes closed, “sort of.” “Why are you being such a baby?” I asked chewing my lip, “You’re supposed to be one of my dad’s agents! You’re supposed to take pain.” “Ignore Eli my dear, he’s always been a baby.” A guy behind me said. I spun around ready to fight for dear life to come face to face with a boy about Eli’s age leaning against the door frame on the bathroom. “Shut up d**k!” Eli growled behind me, “Just fix me! This burn.” “The trick with Eli is not to baby him.” d**k said stepping past me and turning on the water in the tube and turning off the water in the sink, “Now you, never having met Eli before, didn’t know this.” d**k grabbed Eli’s shirt and pulled him down into the tub and shoved his head under the water. “Keep your eyes open buddy!” He said with a smile in my direction. Eli pulled out of the water gasping and glairing up at d**k. “This is why I call you Dick.” He grumbled stepping out of the tub. I reached behind me and handed him a towel. He took it and started to dry off his face. “I’m going to go see my dad…” I said turning around quickly leaving the two boys in the bathroom.
