Chapter 24 It should have been simple. Interview the brother of a possible suspect in a domestic homicide. The suspect’s wife had been beaten and strangled after an argument. One so loud two neighbors had called the police. The brother lived in a middle-class neighborhood on the west side of the city and he was aware they were coming. So when the door opened all Abbie and Hollis expected was to be invited inside to talk. Abbie watched in horror when two shots were fired. The first one missed Hollis, the second one didn’t.
