Winter
As I am walking down the sidewalk, I bump into someone. Thinking it was someone from school or one of the adult wolves from the pack, I hurriedly apologized.
"Oh! Excuse me. I am sorry."
"It's ok! It was my fault. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," she said in return. Friendliness encompassed her voice.
I dared peek up at her. She was drop-dead gorgeous! Why is she being nice to me? Who is she? I had never seen her before. I did not risk being caught talking to a stranger. I quickly and quietly replied,
"Ok. Again, I am sorry." I said as I walked away.
I couldn't get her out of my head. I wished I looked like that. I can't wait to start training. I wonder when Kendra will be on her way. I keep feeling like I am being watched. I can't shake it. It's not like I am anything special. I walked into the square to wait to hear from Kendra. I sat down under a large oak tree by the park's edge. As I am sitting there, I watch all of the people walking. Wolves and norms alike. The norms don't even know we wolves exist, definitely for the better. As I am looking at everyone around me, I continue to have that creepy, eerie feeling that I am being watched. Strange. As I am deep in thought, my phone dings. Yay! It's Kendra.
"Hey girl, where are you?" the text reads.
"I'm at Town Square Park in our normal spot. Where are you?" I responded.
"Ok, I just parked my car. Be there in a minute."
"Hey girl, I'm on my way. Meet me where we always meet." the text reads. Little does she know I am already here.
Aeric
As I was sitting in the park waiting for my sister, I saw a very humble girl. She almost looked homeless, with the clothes that she was wearing and her all-round appearance. Who is this young lady? If she cleaned up and put on better-fitting clothing, she would be absolutely beautiful. Something about her has piqued my interest, as well as my beast's curiosity. A few minutes after sitting there watching her, another young girl walked up to her. They hugged and were excited to see each other. This other girl grabbed some sodas and snacks out of her bag. They sit on the grass under this massive oak here in the park. Now, the girl I had been watching actually seems to be happy. She looked so solemn and depressed before. Now, there is a shine in her eyes that makes my beast whimper.
"Hey, Ironside. What's wrong?"
"I feel something. Something strange towards that girl."
"What do you mean?"
"I am honestly not sure. It may be nothing."
I continue to sit here and look around at everything but still keeping my eye on that girl. She and her friend are still sitting there laughing and chatting. That smile. God, how it just does something to me. As I am lost in my own thoughts, I feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Hei, hva i helvete!" I shouted at whoever had just touched me.
"Relax, Brother! It's just me!" She says as she is laughing hysterically.
"Din kjerring. Don't ever do that to me again. Are you done yet?" I snapped at her in clear annoyance.
"Why are you so jumpy today? It's not like you at all," she says, still laughing at me.
"I just wasn't expecting it," I said, annoyed. "Are you finally done shopping?"
"For now!" she says as she holds up her arms to show me how full of bags they are.
We head to the truck and load everything up in the backseat. As I opened the driver's door, I looked back one last time at the girl I had been watching. That smile on her face could melt even the hardest of hearts. I wonder if I will see her again. Astrid and I headed back to the estate. Once we arrive, we pull into the garage and go inside. As we came through the door, we were met by Herrick. I wasn't paying attention to what was happening until I heard Herrick mention a stranger coming to the door with an envelope for me. Herrick told me what had transpired. I thanked him and went into my office, and shut the door with a bit of a thud, to be honest. I looked at my desk and saw the manila envelope Herrick had mentioned. I walked over to my desk and sat down. What is going on around here?
