Kendra POV
I am so proud of Winter. She kept her head up and kept walking past them without even glancing at any of them. I have a feeling she is going to do SUPER well with training. I can see there is more to her than anyone, including me, knows. There is just something special about her. She shifted earlier than any of us. Her parents had just died a couple of years before her shift happened. I was with her. We were hanging out in a part of the woods by my house that no one goes to. Out of nowhere, she let out a scream of pain and I turned to look at her and she was already shifting. A new shift takes about an hour or so for the shifting process to complete. She was done in thirty minutes. I was at a loss for words for several minutes. There before me, stood a massive, completely snow-white wolf, with the most PIERCING blue eyes I had ever seen. All of the wolves in our pack are your typical wolf colors of brown and grey. Winter's father, from what my parents told me, was the only black wolf in the pack. They say that is why he was the most fearsome warrior. When she changed back, we made a pact that no one would ever know about her wolf. They can't, or she may be killed.
"Hey Kendra, where to first?" Winter speaks up, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Oh! Well, you have a choice. But you will choose and there is no getting out of ANYTHING that I have planned."
"Okay, what are my options?" she asks as she rolls her eyes at me.
"So we can either eat, go to the salon, or go clothes shopping first. No matter what, all of those things will get done today. So which one first?" I say with excitement in my voice.
"Seriously Kendra!?!?!? You know I hate two out of three of those things!!!!" Winter whined.
"Like I said, it is time for change! And this is how we are doing it. So pick!!"
"Ugh! I hate you sometimes. Let's eat first."
"Where? T.G.I. Friday's?" I say, knowing it is her favorite place to eat.
"You know me so well."
We head to the entrance just inside the mall and sit down and eat. We chit-chat about school and life. As we are splitting an ice cream sundae, I ask her what she wants to do next. Of course, she tells me to pick. So I pick the salon. We finish our dessert and head to the salon next. They get us in, cause I called ahead and got a hold of the lady I always go to. I tell her simply to transform Winter into a gorgeous warrior. An hour and a half later, we reveal to Winter what she now looks like.
"Holy s**t!!!! Who am I? What happened to the old me?" She shrieks.
"You look truly amazing!! Do you like it??"
"I didn't even know I could look like this!! Like it? I love it!!!!!" She gets up and gives me and the salon lady massive hugs.
"Good, sweetheart. I am glad you love it. It was my pleasure to help you out. Come back and see me." The lady says as we walk out.
I hand Winter a hat to put on to cover up her new hair so no one sees her yet. Now we head to a couple of clothing stores and shop for some training clothes and some everyday clothes. Once we are done doing that, we start to walk out of the mall. Daniel and the rest left about an hour ago. So I tell Winter to take the hat off. She looks completely different. I can't wait to see what everyone says when they see her on Monday. We load up and head back to my house.
Joe POV
This has been a very long weekend. Both Daniel and Cherry have been acting super weird. They have almost become obsessed with Winter and everything she does. I mean, I kind of understand why Daniel is doing it, but Cherry? That's just strange. She hates her. I don't know why though. Winter has always been very reserved and quiet. I'm on my way to school and I see Kendra driving her truck with some girl in the passenger seat. Do we have a new student? I pull out behind her with two cars between us. All of us headed to the school. We all pull into the parking lot and find spaces. I park a couple of spaces from my friends. I get out and stand by the back of my car. I see Kendra parked three isles over. Her and that girl get out. Damn, the new girl is hot as hell. Who is she? Wait, Kendra is talking to her like she has known her all of her life. That can't be Winter! I just saw her last night!! They head towards the school as do I. It sounds like Winter. But she is more confident and outgoing. The way she is dressed is so much different, too. No baggy clothes. They are ass-hugging jeans and a form-fitting shirt. Her hair is different tones of brown, blonde, and red. This has been a very strange weekend indeed. Today is going to be way more interesting.
