New Person

Cherry POV

We are all standing by our cars, talking to each other. I see Kendra pull in, and a minute later, Joe pulls in and parks. He gets out and stands at the back of his car, watching Kendra park. She and another girl get out of her truck and start walking towards the school. Who is that with her? Joe is staring at them as he walks towards us.

"Joe! You coming over here or what?" I holler at him.

"Yeah!" he yells back.

"Who is the new girl?" I ask as he walks up to us.

"I don't think it is someone new. I think we know exactly who it is."

"Who the f**k do you think it is? I've never seen her." Daniel pipes in.

"Think about it, bro. Who does Kendra hang out with ALL the time?"

"NO!!!!!" we all gasp.

That CAN'T be Winter!!!! How did she suddenly become HOT?!?!?!? That's not possible.

"WINTER!!!!!!!!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

We all stared at her, waiting with anticipation. Kendra and Winter both look in our direction, grin, start laughing, and then keep walking into the school. This isn't good at all. I didn't see her or Kendra leave Kendra's all weekend. I only have one more day to get her routine to them. I need to listen to her and watch her closely.

Winter POV

Kendra and I looked at each other after Cherry called my name and started laughing. The looks on all of their faces was completely priceless. Who knew that changing how I dress and look could change my attitude entirely? I loved seeing the look of shock on all of their faces. We continue laughing as we walk into the school. As we open the doors, several students and teachers stop their conversations to look at us. A mixture of confusion and curiosity is on their faces.

"Why is everybody staring at us?" I whisper to Kendra.

"Cause you are HOT and hard to recognize now." she chuckles and whispers back.

I'm hot? No, that can't be. I'm still just me, I thought to myself as we continued to walk towards our lockers. As we reached our lockers, our English teacher, Mr. Williams, stopped us.

"Excuse me, Kendra, you know that visitors or new students need to register with the office. No exceptions."

"Mr. Williams, it's me. Winter." I said softly.

"Winter, I didn't even recognize you," he said surprised.

All of a sudden, he looked up and down the hallway. After a few moments, he turned his head back to us. Where once he had a smile on his face, he now had a scowl.

"Kendra, you and her need to get to class immediately," he said and then spun on his heel and walked away.

"What the hell was that about?!?" Kendra snapped.

"I don't know. That was weird. Did you see that he was mind-linking with someone?"

"Yeah, I did. I want to know who is sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. I am seriously about to lose my shit." she says angrily.

"It's today? I didn't bring anything to change into!! Kendra! Why didn't you remind me?" I shriek.

"It is a good thing that today is Monday. Your training starts after school.

"Relax Winter. I already have you covered. Look in your backpack." she says, laughing at me frantically looking in my bookbag.

"I love you girl! You are a lifesaver. Please don't leave my side today."

"I won't. Let's get to class and get this day over with," she says as we head to class.

Today is already shaping up to be a VERY long day. Everyone is staring at me and giving me weird looks. I cannot wait until this afternoon. Now is when the real work begins.
