CHAPTER 3

With in half an hour Andrew arrived home. After entering home, he headed to his bedroom upstairs. Then he unlocked his phone and made a call. The call connected after two beep. And the person on the other side received Andrew's call almost immediately.
"Where is she now?" Andrew asked him.
"She is almost about to reach her home." He replied to Andrew.
"Alright." With this Andrew disconnected the call.
Then Andrew put down his cell phone on the bedside table and entered the washroom to take a shower. After took a quick shower Andrew came out from the washroom with a white bathrobe on. He came out from the washroom and sat on the sofa beside his king size bed.
He leaned on the sofa and closed his eyes. He was thinking about Mia. Thinking that what Mia would do about his marriage proposal. Would she agree or decline his proposal. What if she reject him, Andrew though. Suddenly he chuckled, his eyes were dim, his heart was empty.
Mia is like a little sun to him. Even thinking about her, Andrew can feel warmth in his heart. She is the light in his lonely life.
Mia returned home with a gloomy face and she was totally puzzled. She turned on her phone and was about to make a call to Linda’s number but before she could dial her number, Linda’s call came.
“Hey…. Sweetie! How was your date?” Linda’s excited voice came from the phone. Linda was in high spirit like always.
“I just hate that man.” Mia replied to Linda.
Mia's sudden this kind of confession surprised Linda. She didn't expect her best friend will come to a conclusion like this all of a sudden.
“Why what happened? Did he bully you?” Linda asked immediately.
“Bully me? Even more than that.” Mia's voice increased a few decibel. When she was thinking about that man her blood even started to boil due to her anger. She was polite towards him at the date just because Mia was grateful to him for that night. That's why she endure all that rubbish.
“Mia please, don’t beat around the bush. Tell me exactly what happened?” Linda was in hurry. She was eager to know what kind of incident happened that made her say this.
Mia sighed and then after a pause she said “He proposed me to marry him.”
“What? Just what did you say? Say it again.” Linda asked excitedly over the phone she couldn’t believe what she just heard.
“Andrew Scott proposed me to marry him just one hour ago.” Mia replied her patiently but she was burning inside.
“God!!! It’s a great news.” Linda said loudly.
“But why are you mad at him?” She asked. For Linda it's not a bad thing at all. Even she was happy that Andrew Scott proposed Mia.
“Why am I mad at him? As if you don’t know.” Mia said angrily. Linda is the only one on whom Mia can vent her anger.
“Yes, I don’t.” Linda said innocently.
“We know nothing about each other. We know each other just from few days. He dares to propose me and not only propose he even told to me give it a try. For him it’s a Trial marriage.” Mia said with one breath.
After a pause Mia again said," How can that man take an important thing like marriage as a trial?"
“Trial marriage..well sounds good.” Linda nodded her head and replied Mia.
“Good?” Mia became angry on Linda.
“No, I mean not good it’s actually interesting.”
“Are you out of your mind Linda Davis?”
Linda could tell how much angry Mia is right know. Mia only call Linda by her full name when she is very much angry on her.
Ding Dong.
Suddenly the doorbell rang.
“Linda just hold on for a minute.”
Mia opened the door---It was Linda Davis.
Mia was shocked by Linda’s sudden appearance.
“What? Not happy?”, Linda asked but without waiting for her reply Linda pushed Mia and entered the living room.
Miran was in the living room when she saw it was Linda immediately jumped from the sofa and ran towards Linda.
“Awww my baby…did you miss mommy?” Linda took Miran and sat on sofa.
Mia closed the door and came towards them.
“What brings you here Linda?” After asking this question Mia thought of something.
Then she asked again “By the way why are you here now? What about your business trip?”
“It’s done.” Linda replied without looking at Mia.
Mia raise her eyebrow but didn’t say anything.
Linda was busy playing with Miran and avoiding Mia as if she doesn’t exist.
Mia sighed.
After a few minutes later Mia asked Linda “Linda are you here for Miran?”
“Not only for Miran. I’m here for your trial marriage also.” Then Linda looked at Mia and smiled sweetly.
“Well I knew it.” Mia replied and sat beside Linda.
“But I don’t want to talk about that and by the way I made decision already,I’ll reject him”
“What? Reject him?But why?” Linda asked anxiously.
Mia remained silent.
Then Linda took a deep breath and her always cheerful appearance suddenly disappear.
“What?” Mia noticed the change of Linda and asked.
“Mia you just can’t reject him.” Linda looked at Mia and said with a serious expression.
“Ok... but why?” Mia asked her calmly.
“Only he can give you a secure shelter which you need the most right now.” Linda said anxiously.
“And you know very well what I’m talking about.” After a pause Linda again said.
Mia’s face darkened.
“But I can’t drag a stranger into my problem.”
“I just can’t do this.”
“No... Mia think about it carefully, he has money, power, status everything and he is the only son of William Scott and the only successor of Coscott company. He is very known person. He can be your shield.”
“But I don’t think it’s a good idea. I can’t be so selfish.” Mia said with her head down. As if she was feeling guilty even thinking about it.
“You have to be selfish now. You have to be selfish for your own sake.”
“Mia everyone has a right to live a good and peaceful life. You too.” Linda hold Mia’s both hand and said to her.
“And he is the one who came to you himself. It’s a good opportunity.”
“Last time when those men attacked on you and you even admitted to the hospital. I was scared to death.”
“Please Mia if you really see me as your good friend, please think about it again.”
Mia don't know what to say. She doesn't had any idea how to reply. Because, she even know what Linda just said it has point. Mia couldn't deny it.
After a long silence Mia opened her mouth and said “Can you give me the guarantee that if I marry him, they will not follow me?”
Linda looked at her and said “No. I can’t give you the guarantee but I know very well that if you stay under his umbrella you will stay safer.”
“And before approaching you they will think at least twice.” Linda said with confidence.
Mia didn’t say anything.
