When the car was almost near the company Mia asked uncle Ben to stop the car and not to go in front of the company. But uncle Ben who was loyal to Mr. Scott didn't listen to her and the car was stopped in front of her company's gate. When the car stopped Mia immediately took a peek from the window, after confirming that there was nobody, she got off from the car and fled to the building. She finally succeeded to avoid everyone's sight.
Lunch Break.
During the lunch break suddenly, Brandy came to find Mia, which was surprised her a lot. Because she basically doesn't talk to Mia.
"Hey Mia." All of a sudden Brandy came to Mia and greeted her.
"Hey..do you need anything Brandy." Mia knew that there was definitely something for which Brandy came.
When Brandy came Lauren was also there with Mia. Brandy's sudden arrival also shocked Lauren. Brandy was an employee of another department and it's very rare for her to come to Mia's department. Brandy hates Mia very much and it's an open secret of this company. That's why Lauren shocked.
"Why? Can't I come to my colleague just for a good talk?" Brandy asked with a smile. Although she was smiling but it was not a genuine one.
"Good talk really? I wonder what type of good talk it is." The speaker was not Mia, it was Lauren. Lauren is a girl who is very much straight forward.
"I'm here for Mia not for you Ms. Gould." Brandy looked at Lauren with sharp eyes and said. Then looked back at Mia.
"You...." Lauren gritted her teeth and was about to say something but Mia stopped her.
"You don't have to beat around the bush Brandy. You can come straight to the point." Mia said with a calm voice.
"Okay then. As you wish Ms. Swift." Brandy replied with a cold smile.
"I saw you earlier....the expensive car.. I wonder whose car it was. Because the car was not yours, who can be the owner. Whoever the owner is I must say you really are a big player Mia Swift. Gold digger." So without any delay Brandy started to spit venom in front of everyone.
"In this company Samuel, and outside the owner of the that car. Why these men all are after you?"
"God knows what kind of methods you use to seduce them. You shameless bitch." Brandy was spitting fire.
The remaining employees were looking at the three of them like they are watching any movie scene.
Mia was speechless due to this sudden attack. But she immediately stables herself and said.
"Brandy before you say something please pay attention to your surroundings." Mia said word by word calm. Although she was calm outside but she was burning inside. But she didn't want to lose her control here in her office.
"What? Are you afraid that your real character will be disclosed?" Brandy said with a cold smile while her sharp gaze was on Mia.
"Brandy you have no right to talk about me like this." Mia said and looked at Brandy coldly.
"Exactly, you have no right. And when you know nothing please don't talk rubbish." Lauren again spoke up for Mia.
"Ah....am I talking rubbish? Really?" Brandy sneered. She took a look at Lauren and then again at Mia.
"Then tell me who's that guy outside." Brandy raised her one eyebrow and asked.
"That was..." Lauren was about to answer her but before she could finish Mia tugged her cloth to indicate her to stop.
"What? Have no suitable answer." Brandy said mockingly.
"That was my friend." Mia said.
"Just a friend, really? I wonder which kind of friendship it is." With sharp eyes Brandy looked at Mia.
"A friend of Mia who even own luxurious car. A car which a normal person never can effort, not even in their dreams. Do you guys think it has any sense." Brandy took a look at the crowd. As if she was asking for their opinion.
Brandy looked back at Mia and said again," You a middle-class girl has this kind of friend...humm... interesting."
"Mia doesn't look like that type of girl. I always thought she is a nice girl." Someone said from the crowd with a low voice. But Mia heard it clearly as after Brandy's speech there was pin drop silence in the room.
"That's why it's said don't judge a book by its cover." A lady employee said this as a reply.
Mia was silent. She doesn't know how to answer them or stop them. When she was thinking how to stop them all of a sudden there was a familiar voice.
"What's going on here?" In the critical moment a rough voice came from behind the crowd.
Without looking at the speaker anyone of this company can whose voice it is. It was general manager Mr. Edward Moore. The sudden arrival of Mr. Moore saved Mia from the embarrassing situation. Although Brandy was definitely not happy for Mr. Moore's sudden show up.
Everyone of this company were afraid of Mr. Moore as he was the general manager of this company who holds a lot of power and also, he was the oldest employee of this company. The crowd which was busy to judge Mia suddenly went silent and Brandy who was spitting fire few times ago also sealed her mouth.
"It's an office not any fish or vegetable market." After said this Mr. Moore raised his left hand and took a look at the time. Then he said "Lunch break have finished 10 mins ago. What you all still doing here?"
"Go back to your work right now." Mr. Moore ordered them with his majestic aura.
Then everyone started to leave the place and Brandy also leave the department. Mia finally relieved.
"That b***h how can she talk to you like this?" Suddenly Lauren"s voice came from behind and Mia retrieved her sight from the door and looked at Lauren.
"Just leave it, Lauren." Mia said casually and sat back on her chair.
"Leave? How can you leave this matter like this?" Lauren asked Mia angrily.
"And why did you stop me then?"
"Why did you stop me to tell her that he was your husband?"
Mia was silent for a moment then she opened her mouth and said to Lauren," I told you that it can't be reveal now."
"And you also promised me that you will keep it a secret."
"Yes I did. I promised you but he is your husband. And you can't deny it. And what's the logic of this secret?"
"I'm not denying it that he is my husband. But I just need some time to accept him as my husband."
"Then why did you marry him if you can't even accept him as your husband?" Lauren leave these sentence and left the room angrily.
The last sentence of Lauren hit Mia at her soft spot.
