When Mia entered the building, she saw Lauren was coming towards her side anxiously. She was Mia's colleague here.
"Mia...who was that?" Lauren asked her anxiously.
"Who?" Mia pretend dumb just to piss her off.
"Please, don't pretend." Lauren gave Mia a provocative look.
Mia surrendered. "Okay,fine..I will tell you, but you have to keep it a secret for the time being."
"Okay...just tell me now." Lauren said excitedly.
Before gave her the answer Mia scanned the surroundings. Because she doesn't want to let anyone know about her marriage with Mr. Scott, at least not now. She doesn't want to be the center of any gossip. Mr. Scott is a big figure and she is his legal wife now. If this news leaked here, she she doesn’t know what will happen.
After getting sure that nobody is noticing them, Mia looked at Lauren who was eager to learn Mia's answer.
"My husband." Mia said without any delay.
Lauren’s eyes widened due to shock, "Wha..what? Husband?" She almost shouted.
Mia immediately grabbed Lauren’s hand to indicate her not to shout.
Lauren didn't expect that she can hear this. So, for this excitement and shock she shouted unconsciously.
"Do you have idea what are you talking about Mia Swift?" Lauren asked Mia to make sure about it.
"Of course, I do." Mia nodded her head.
"But..but when you get married? When did it happen?" Lauren still couldn't believe what she just heard.
"Well... yesterday." Mia replied.
"And we don't know about this at all." Lauren shot a frustrated look.
"Actually, we just got our marriage certificate, we didn't hold any marriage ceremony yet. Don't worry." Mia comforted her. Mia patted on her shoulder to comfort her.
"Oh... that's the case. Well that's a relief." Lauren recovered her cheerful aura a little. But it didn't stay long, the duration was just a few seconds.
With a pitiful look Lauren asked, "Why is your husband so handsome...?"
"God, what should I do with this girl?" Mia thought in her mind and sighed.
Suddenly Lauren thought of something and said, " Mia..I don't know why, I think I saw him somewhere. What's his name anyway?"
Mia remained silent. She doesn't know if she should tell her the truth or not. She was in dilemma. Then Mia decided to tell the truth. Anyway, she would find it out sooner or later. And by the way Lauren is a person whom she can trust. She is always nice to her and treat Mia as her good friend.
Mia looked at Lauren and said slowly, "Ah...his name is... Andrew Scott." Mia was observing her every expression.
Lauren was shocked more than before, her eyes widened, "What? You are kidding right?"
Mia shook her head slowly. Except this she doesn't know what to do.
"Mia darling, why are you torturing my little heart like this?" Lauren was trying to be pitiful.
Mia ignored her, she raised her left hand and looked at the time.
"We are getting late." After looking at the time Mia said to Lauren.
Mia grabbed Lauren’s hand and almost dragged Lauren with her and took the lift to go to there department floor with was on 5th floor. Lauren was in the same department with Mia. When they came to the 5th floor they went to their desks hurriedly. They were in the same department, even their desks were next to each other.
After took their seats Mia shot a glance at Lauren.
"What?" Lauren blinked her eyes innocently and asked Mia.
"You promised me that you will keep it a secret. You mean it right?" Mia raised her one eyebrow and her with a provocative look.
"Of course, I mean it buddy." Lauren patted on Mia's shoulder to comfort her. Actually Mia trusts her but still asked for the conformation. Lauren is not a girl who talk on the back of someone.
After listening to Lauren’s words Mia was relieved. Then she started to do her work. Lauren also did so.
Lunch time.
Mia was still working. Except Mia there was nobody, all her colleagues including Lauren were gone to the office canteen to have their lunch. Lauren asked her to join them but Mia rejected them. Suddenly there was a slight knock on Mia's desk. She looked up and saw Samuel Quinn was standing in front of her desk. When Mia saw it was Samuel she frowned. She really doesn’t like this man.
"What is it Samuel?" Mia asked.
"It's lunch time. Let's go and have lunch together." He asked to Mia. His lips were slightly hooked.
"I'm sorry. I still have work to do." Mia rejected his offer politely. Although she doesn't like this guy but still, she can't be rude without any reason.
"Come on, delay meals are not good health." Samuel again said and approached towards Mia a little.
"I can take care of myself. You don't have to think about me. Anyway, thanks for your concern." Mia became irritated but still she maintained her calm temperament.
"You can go ahead and have lunch." Mia put a smile and said.
After saying that Mia started her work on computer. She could feel Samuel's gaze on her but she decided to avoid him. Then Samuel retrieved his gaze and left Mia’s department. Mia looked back at his leaving figure.
Actually, Mia doesn’t have any important work to do, she lied to Samuel. She just wanted a reason to reject him. In Mia’s opinion Samuel is not a right person. Mia always feel like Samuel look at her with a wrong intention. So, Mia’s sixth sense tell her to stay away from him.
After leave Mia in front of her company Andrew straight headed to the Coscott company. From these few months it's him who is handling most of the affairs of Coscott company. His father, the former president of the Coscott company doesn't get involved easily. May be he is trying to hand over this company to Andrew now. Andrew doesn't has no desire to take over this company, he likes to spent his time in his tennis court more than the company.
After dealing with the company matters Andrew looked raised his left hand and looked at the time then he he put his right hand in his trouser and took his phone out. He made a call to Mia, it didn't took much time. With a short conversation he end up the call.
Then Andrew went to his tennis court to do some practice. He doesn't had any important work to do in the company so, he left early. After a few round of tennis practice he would go to receive Mia.
