Chapter two.
I could hear a set of footsteps approaching as the floor inside creaked under from the weight of them. The door swings open and I am met with a husky voice “Mum, she’s here!” he bellowed unfaced by me. My whole body was trembling, but I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he strode away up the stairs his shirt hugging his muscles. His hair was black as midnight, beautiful I thought to myself. Suddenly a gentle voice appears as she walks towards the open door “come in you must be Willow” I nod nervously as I step into their house. She sighs “don’t be nervous my name is Pauline I was close friends with your mother before she disappeared. You can call me Polly” I nod in answer,
“Nice to meet you, Polly!” I glance around the entrance hall illuminated by the morning sun the banister of the staircase made of stained oak wood upon closer inspection wolves were etched into the sides. I reach out with my hand to feel them, “that’s amazing I bet that took forever, If I may ask why wolves?” Willow asked curiously. Polly smiled happy that she took interest in her home. “we chose wolves because we have fallen in love with them you will often see them around our lands and in the forest”, immediately interested willow squealed with excitement she had always felt drawn to wolves but had never seen one in real life. “You must be exhausted from your travels I’ll show you to your room so you can relax for a bit” without any hesitation Polly picks up my case as if it weights nothing and started up the stairs. Three flights of stairs later we arrived she gestured to the door at on the right, placing my case Infront of it. “I thought you might want you space this part of the house is quiet and has a beautiful view of the forest. If you need anything my son’s room is at the bottom of the stairs on the left,” said Polly. “Thank you are so kind” she began walking away as I pushed open the door. I dragged my suitcase in behind me and I was shocked there was a large four poster bed in the centre of the room. That is the biggest bed I have ever seen I closed the door and walked towards it dropping all my weight on to it, it felt like I was lying on a cloud. I roll onto my back gazing at the ceiling as tears begin to pool in my eyes. “They must have made a mistake I can’t mean anything to them, why would they want me I am a nobody who can’t get their head out of a book, with no friends or family”. Exhausted and hopeless I fall into a deep sleep.
