Apo's POV
Yari is still in the Underworld. I need to go to where he is. I am getting worried about his situation. I told everyone that I would follow Yari in the Underworld, but they disagreed.
Despite the intense ominous aura coming from where Ayari was, they decided to stay put in where we are. I can't help myself not to worry about him because of this ill-feeling that I am having.
Someone told me to leave Ayari alone and let him handle things at the back of my head. On the other hand, what my heart wants to do was to go to him.
After asking the others about my decision, they still want me to wait here. There's nothing I can do. I'm sorry, guys, but I have to do this.
I stood up and summoned my spear, and hurried towards where the portal was. I can hear the others shouting at me, but instead of stopping, I waved my hand at them and smiled before jumping.
Wait for me, Yari. I am coming to you.
I slowly descended to the path towards the Underworld. I used my flame energy, creating enough pressure to support my legs and allowed me to float in the air. I tried doing this while training in secret, which I saved to use in the future, and now is the right time to do this.
The atmosphere was getting intense as I continued going down the portal. I can hear thunder rumbling from below. What's happening now? I lowered the firepower on my legs to make my fall faster, and as soon as I hit the lower level, the smell of sulfur entered my nose. I saw that some parts of the river were frozen.
I jumped on the frozen platform and looked around to check where Ayari was. I saw a huge tree a few meters away from me, and there was Ayari, fighting a gigantic octopus. Ayari was being cornered on edge.
I need to help him.
When the enemy was about to attack Ayari again, I ignited my spear and threw it on the monster. I was able to land a hit, and the enemy growled in pain.
This is now my chance. I hurried to where Ayari was, and I can see his confused expression from afar. I was able to make it on time. Ayari was surprised that I popped out of nowhere.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"To save you from danger," I answered.
------
I was really struggling on how to defeat Bansot. He is powerful enough, and he was right. I underestimated him.
Bansot started to thew an array of attacks at me; still, I was able to deflect most of them. Another attack was able to cut out from my defense, but instead, Bansot growled in pain.
I saw a flaming spear flying towards him, and he got hit, making him cry in pain. Don't tell me the person I was waiting for is here. I looked around to check if where the spear came from, and I was right.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"To save you, of course," Apo answered.
"This is not the time to joke around. Look at my situation here." I said, annoyed, and smacked his head.
"Ouch, why did you do that? I am not joking, Yari. I am here to help you." Apo explained while scratching his head.
The ominous aura was getting stronger than before. Both of us looked at where Bansot was, and I can sense his anger because of the sneak attack from Apo.
"Look what we have here, an unexpected guest. And of all people, it's you!" Bansot shouted.
"He knows you?" I asked Apo.
"No, I haven't met him before. Don't mind him. Let's focus on how we can defeat him and get back at the surface." Apo answered and tapped my shoulders.
Apo raised his hand and called back the spear from where Bansot was. Flames ignited again on his spear. I guess I have no choice.
Is this your answer, Mayari?
I infused my spiritual energy on the Night's fall, and a chilling aura emitted from it. I looked at Apo to check he was ready, and he nodded as a response.
"Here's what we are going to do, Apo. Focus on distracting him while I am chanting my spell, okay? I'll support you from behind and tell you if everything is ready." I said.
"Okay, let's do that," Apo answered.
I began to summon ice platforms on the water, and Apo jumped on them, shortening the distance from him and Bansot. I followed him from behind while I imagined the spell in my head.
Bansot started to release toxic fumes, but Apo was quick-witted and spun his spear faster than usual, blowing the haze away. I summoned Ice shards and directed it on Bansot, but he was able to deflect it.
Apo summoned fireballs as a follow-up attack. Most of his attacks were deflected too. He continued to close the gap on where Bansot was. I also moved forward and tried to look for an open opportunity.
Bansot was really enraged at us and started lashing out his tentacles towards us. Apo jumped and in the air, and flame appeared on his legs, propelling him faster towards the enemy.
A jet booster from his spiritual energy? Is it even possible?
Apo's spear ignited again and was directed towards Bansot. He was getting nearer to the enemy, and I saw that Bansot panicked all of a sudden. He raised his tentacles and braced for the incoming attack. Apo's attack was able to pierce through his defense, cutting off several tentacles from the enemy.
Bansot growled in pain again.
While they were busy, I continued moving towards Bansot too. I was trying to look for a blind spot to overthrow him in one hit. I hope our plan will work.
Luckily, I can use what I learned from school in the real world. If my guess was correct, this would apply with Bansot too.
I already defeated him twice, and if my guess was correct, we could beat him using the fact that he is an octopus.
