Apo and Bansot were busy fighting each other. I took this opportunity to look for the last heart of this monster. Where could it be?
Apo summoned a gigantic fireball and directed it towards Bansot. I moved back because I might get hit by the explosion. Bansot tried to hide underwater, but it was too late. I froze him on his tracks.
Boom!
A large explosion was heard.
Smoked covered the place where the fireball hit. I moved closer to where Apo was. We looked at each other, and we changed positions. I can still feel the dark aura from the surroundings. Bansot is still alive.
When the smoke cleared, tentacles were directed towards me, but I jumped on the platform, evading the attack. I summoned a light array and aimed at Bansot's tentacled, but they were deflected. The smoked totally cleared out, and most of his skin was burnt from Apo's attack.
I created another ice platform closing the gap between Bansot and me. I looked around and checked the status of Apo, and he was moving stealthily while I kept Bansot busy. I guess Bansot did not notice us switching because he was busy defending himself.
I bounced towards one of Bansot's limbs and used them as a stepping stone. I stabbed his flesh and started casting my spell.
"Moonlight, cold as ice. Freeze thy evil, show your might!"
The Night's fall emitted a cold aura, and when I carved my blade upwards, ice exploded on the part that I hit my edge. Bansot cried in pain and struggled to move around because most of his arms were already frozen. I dashed towards his upper body and tried to stab him directly.
Unfortunately, he could still summon lightning spears, and I got struck by it, pushing me downwards. I can feel the intense pain running in my body because the electric current was unbearable. I was too confident again, causing another mistake. I almost passed out because it was a direct hit.
Apo caught me mid-air and jumped towards the ice flooring.
"Hey, Yari! Wake up." Apo said, touching my face.
Don't worry, I'm fine." I said and tried to sit down, but I lost balance and fell on the grounding.
I looked at Apo and told him that I was okay, and I was just overwhelmed by the attack.
"Are you sure, Yari? Do you think you can still do this? We only have ten minutes left." Apo said, worried.
"Don't worry, Apo. Let's stick to our plan, okay?" I said and smiled at him.
"Okay, if that's what you want. Let's go and finish this monster and go back to the surface." Apo said.
Apo held out his hand, and I reached out for it, holding it tightly. He helped me to stand up. Apo said that he will be the one taunting Bansot again. I agreed with his suggestion, and he started hopping on the ice floors that I created earlier. I have to put my trust in Apo, and I need to believe in him. No, we need to believe in each other.
I began to move and started creating a lot of ice terrain which we can use. I summoned two light orbs and ordered them to go where Apo was. I breathed instructions on the orb to assist him.
Now, I think I know where the other heart was located. I started moving around and placed marks on each terrain that I stood. I looked at Apo, and he was still busy fighting Bansot. The enemy is nowhere near exhaustion.
We need to make this plan, as this is only our chance.
I raised my hand and summoned a flare in the air, and it was bright enough to catch the attention of Apo. I hurried, running on the end of the ice terrain, and positioned myself. I sat down on the magic circle I drew on the ice.
Apo started moving towards me, and Bansot followed. The orb of light kept on firing the light array, distracting the enemy even more. Bansot kept on lashing out his tentacles on Apo, but he was able to overthrow each attack.
I stabbed the ice ground with the Night's Fall and started chanting the spell I learned from one of the scrolls I got from Estrella.
I raised my hand and started singing the chant in a tune that I was not familiar with. I don't know, but the music suddenly filled my ears, and I followed what the melody gave me.
I call upon the highest above of all, grant thy wish.
That which falls into infinite darkness, be engulfed in thy moonlight.
Apo and Bansot were almost near to where I was. I focused on singing the chant.
Feel the wrath of the heavens, perish under the rain of light.
The light that dictates eternity, the end of all things, listen to me!
The pressure was starting to get thicker around me. The flow of spiritual energy began to intensify.
Sword of light etched in memories which I attest.
Slaughter those who go against thy will.
Apo jumped high and, at the same time, cast a crimson fireball pushing Bansot towards where I was.
"How dare you!" Bansot shouted.
He tried to move away, but the flame ignited from Apo's spell was powerful. As soon as Bansot hit the terrain, I released the magic.
Moonlit Memory!
The ice terrain started shaking violently, and the water started creating waves. Five gigantic pillars descended from the sky in the underworld and pinned down Bansot in place. Bansot growled in pain.
The sky started to glow brighter, and a huge barrier was erected from the ground. Bansot tried to get away, but it was no use. The spiritual pressure coming from the pillars was too intense, preventing his movements.
A few moments after, torrents of light started to fall down on Bansot. He started crying in agony, and little by little, the ominous aura around him decreased. The array of light continued raining down on him until the atmosphere totally vanished. What remained was his dead body on the ground. The third heart of Bansot was directly hit by the purifying lights, and it was located at his lower abdomen.
The spell I got from Estrella was a mystic spell and can only be used three times. It was also considered a purifying spell, and in return, it took away half of my spiritual pressure. Great magic has a huge requirement too.
Apo went to where I was and helped me stood up. He ruffled my hair and told me that I did a good job. I also thanked him, and if not for him, I will be locked up here in the underworld.
"Let's go back," Apo said.
I nodded my head and said yes. I pulled the Night's Fall and placed it in on the dimensional storage.
Suddenly, a burst of powerful evil aura emitted from where the corpse of Bansot was. It created a black hole and started to suck up everything in its path. Apo and I tried to escape, but it was too powerful, and we are both exhausted from the battle. We did not expect that something like this will happen. I don't know, but I started to panic and thought of what to do.
I have no choice.
I closed my eyes and summoned the Galeforce. Please give me another chance, wind relic.
"I'm sorry."
Apo gave me a confused expression.
"What are you trying to do, Yari?" He said and summoned the spear, striking the ground.
Apo held on the spear tightly while holding me on the other hand. We only got two minutes left before the portal closes.
"I'm sorry, Apo. Let's meet again soon. Tell everyone that I am okay, and I will find you again." I said and smiled at him.
"This is not the time to joke around, Yari. We will go back together." Apo said, choking up on his words.
"Trust me, Apo. Like what you said before, we are fated, so wait for me, okay?" I said.
This is the only option that I have to save Apo. I don't have enough power to keep the both of us, and he is exhausted too.
I removed Apo's arms around me, and I smiled at him. Apo kept on shouting my name. While I was being sucked by the black hole, I aimed the bow towards him, and using the last ounce of my powers, I summoned a powerful gust. It pushed him towards the path on the portal. I believe that he reached the surface, as I can no longer feel the energy from the passage.
I'm glad that I was able to save him. I have no regrets this time.
I'm sorry.
