Power

After a few more days of rest, I recovered and the cast on my leg was removed. I can walk freely now. During those days, I tried to gather as much information as I can. I asked Anan and Ester to bring me books. I told them that it might help to recover my lost memories. Luckily, even the village was like those primitive days, they have materials and books.

I was surprised that the language that they are using is the same as the world that I was from. Although there are words that are like from an ancient text. Well, that's not a problem. I will be able to decipher them. Since I love books from the real world, that might help me a lot.

Today, I decided to gather more information. It seems that what Anan and Ester told me about was true. I read that those who were not blessed by the Deities were considered untouchables. A very nasty way to describe them. I did not like this sort of thing. The fact that you are considered an outcast because you don't have any ability. Now everything is getting clear to me. The reason why the real Ayari is being bullied. I can't wait to see their faces if they see that I shoot energy beams from my hands.

I know I might sound rude but I don't want my siblings to worry about me. I want to prove them wrong. I want to change this type of thinking from these kinds of people.

Honestly, I was a victim of bullying from the real world. Even after graduating from school, I was always made fun of by people around me. I experienced all sorts of things. I was physically and mentally abused. The worst part is and what I hated the most was I am a victim of s****l harassment. I tried to voice out what happened to me, but they will just laugh at me. The fact that I am a guy. They say that I am just making things up to gather attention.

Though I suffered a lot from this sort of thing, I did not give up. I need to be strong for my loved ones. I always put my head held high to show them that I did not falter even from those sufferings.

Now, I have to set my mind on goals. I have to show them what I got. I need to figure out how to use my abilities from the moon goddess. I already finished reading the books that I borrowed from my siblings, but nothing was written on how to activate those powers.

I tried all sorts of things, from concentration, chanting things like summoning fire from the shows that I watched, but nothing is happening. I looked silly doing this.

Mayari, if you can hear me can you give me a clue? Just one will be enough.

Oh well, still not answering.

I decided to go out to get some fresh air and help my family to do some chores. I stood up and did not notice the pile of books and accidentally tripped over them.

Ouch!

I scratched my head and let out a little laugh. Even here, I'm still clumsy. I looked around to check if someone saw me. Thank goodness there was no one around. I picked up the books that were scattered in the room. Better fix this or I might trip over them again. I collected them one by one and noticed that one flew towards where the sword was. I first saw the sword when I came to this world.

I was fascinated by how the sword was forged. It was very detailed. I can say that the one who crafted the sword was a very talented blacksmith. Those things that were engraved on it gave it a very extravagant feeling. I bet that it was in the real world, this might catch too much attention especially for those collectors.

I looked at the book that was lying beside it and saw that it was opened on some page. I immediately noticed that the illustration on the book was identical to the sword that was in my room. I carefully examined the details. It's the same! The pattern, everything.

But one thing was missing, there was some sort of a blue orb attached to the sword handle in the book. The sword here in my room doesn't have that orb.

There was some sort of description written below the illustration.

Night's Fall. The cutlass was originally wielded by the Moon Goddess Mayari. Whoever the successor of the Moon Goddess will be able to wield the blade.

I flipped the book and check the title. It says "Your Daily Dose of Information".

Oh my goodness. I cracked and started laughing at the title of the book. I checked and looked for the name of the author but there was nothing written about it. It says unknown.

Well, whoever wrote this book, I want to give this person a big thumbs up. Very witty. I scanned the book and hoped that this gives me the information that I needed.

Well, you can't blame me. The title says it all. I sat down near the window and started reading the book.

Most of the contents are the same as the other books. I continued reading and ended up on a page where a bookmark is attached. A dried lily of the valley?

I removed the bookmark and read the passage on that page.

Power is given to those who open their hearts.

Open their hearts? How?

I moved to the next page and reached the part where the Night's Fall was illustrated. It says that aside from the cutlass, there were other weapons that only the chosen successors can wield and activate. All the weapons were hidden in each respective pillar.

How did the Night's Fall end up in my room? I need to ask Anan about this.

I picked up the sword and hurriedly went out of my room. I headed straight to the hall and asked our Mother if were is Anan. She said that he went out to find some herbs near the riverbanks.

I need to find him. Oh my goodness, why I am in such a rush?

My curiosity about things might be at work right now. I need answers.

I was near the gate of the village when I heard someone calling my name. It was Ester.

"Big brother, where are you going, and why are you carrying a sword?" Ester asked.

"I am going to Anan. I just have some questions and I want to help him." I answered.

"Do you want me to go with you?"

"No, it's okay Ester. I'll be back soon." I said and pat her head.

"But big brother."

I waved my hand and headed in the direction where the riverbank is.

After several minutes, I reached the riverbank and Anan was not there. Maybe he headed in the woods near this area. I decided to go there too.

I went straight in that direction and saw a group of young men sitting under a tree. They saw me and started laughing.

What's their problem?

Two of the guys stood up and walked towards me.

"Oh, what do we have here?" the big brawny guy said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"You did hit your head hard and forgot us." The other guy said.

The other guys stood up and also went in our direction.

"Sorry, but can we talk some other time? I need to go somewhere." I told them.

"Oh, not so fast." A fat guy said.

"What's your problem?" I said.

"Oh, nothing. We just want you to remember us. You loser." Another guy said.

"Loser?"

"Yes, you are a loser Ayari. An untouchable." The big guy said and started laughing again.

The other guys followed and laughed at me. Maybe this was the

bullies that Ester was referring to.

"Okay, Ayari, we just want you to remember who the real boss is." The big guy said and signaled his underlings.

I walked backward to move away from them, but I was surprised that there were two other men behind me. There were seven of them. I was tackled and pinned down by those men.

"Now Ayari, don't move. Just listen to what I say. Lick my foot." Their leader said.

I tried to raise my head by they were pinning me hard on the ground.

"No!" I said still struggling to get away from their grasp.

"What? I can't hear you." he said.

The leader instructed his men to lift my body and pushed me down so that I would appear like I am kneeling. Another guy went behind me and grabbed my hair so that I would face their leader. I tried to break free but they were holding me tightly.

"Now, Ayari, you just have to do what I say and we will let you go," said the leader.

"No! I will never do what you say."I said.

Bam!

The pain resonated from my jaw throughout my body. The leader punched me so hard that my lip exploded. Blood started gushing out from my mouth. He was not contented and kicked my abdomen. The pain was excruciating that at any moment I might lose consciousness. I heard his underlings laughing.

"Now, Ayari, you punk, are you going to do what I say?" he said again.

I was feeling weak and trembling with pain already. I will not let them do what they want. I gathered my strength and shouted.

"No!"

"I'll kill you!" the leader shouted.

He pulled out a dagger from his waist and aimed at me. At that moment, the scabbard of the Night's Fall started to glow. I felt a warm tingling sensation on my arm and the started to glow too. It feels like the sword and tattoo are resonating.

All of a sudden, a sudden surge of energy burst out of nowhere and followed by a blinding light.

Then I heard a voice whisper in my ear.
